  1. Non identification doesn't mean you are without an ego.
  2. I'd say for starters more love to creatr unity. We are so divisive these days. Always this vs that
  3. My thoughts exactly. Where there is insecurity comes a need to over compensate. This also manifests as thinking your worldview is superior. What you know is correct and the ego doesn't like incorrectness. You see this everywhere on YouTube critics, rationality, science, logic etc
  4. It might be because when people approach you you think they want to talk to you but when you approach them there is that uncertainty on if they do or don't. We humans often crave knowledge it makes us feel powerful so uncertainty and confusion is equivalent to navigating the unknown. Trying to embrace the unknown is a good first step. To face it and accept any outcome instead of just the egos desired outcome.
  5. Compare it to direct experience. Which it then falls flat. ? Logic only works on something that can follow the rules
  6. Look at the life you and everybody experiences. Everyday we rely on things like consistency. All of science relies of observation and for that experience to always happen under the same occurrences. Yes if you look past all of that you can see all of the mental framework gymnastics involved and especially how one can get too involved with it. But these mental tools for mapping are incredibly useful. Ask how does this even work? The connection between concept and direct experience. Illusions help navigate illusions no?
  7. @tsuki You are not actually looking at what I am trying to say. We can just go in circles with the illusion and duality stuff. It's not helpful. I'm pointing to the more life pragmatic perspective. The illusions that aid in the illusion.
  8. Be careful when mixing around the absolute and relative perspectives. Everything is illusory. But in the relative perspective that doesn't really mean much. Seeing the strings doesn't mean they aren't still doing their thing. Real and illusion collapse. So illusion doesn't mean to discard it. Don't look too deep into the should. It's just language jargon.
  9. @tsuki I'd call it more like using concepts so that you can imagine an experience. You are predicting. As in a claim of an experience that should occur. This hinges on consistency.
  10. Yeah concepts to break down experiences only goes so far. They try to create this infinite causality because if you can see what comes before it you can explain what it is. But then exactly what is the root of it all? Nobody wants to go that deep.
  11. Why the either or? Could be both. Depends on the context.
  12. The ego is merely just a concept. An illusion to battle illusions. How fitting.
  13. I forward the motion it is abou transcending the ego. To be able to use it but not be restricted by it. At the end of the day you live with an ego but you can be more conscious of it.
  14. My girlfriend isn't the most attractive girl in the world. She's got acne, some weight and overall I've seen some way more attractive girls. However her personality fits with me so well and she's open to spirituality that such qualities far outweigh her looks. Me finding a girl average to hot will dictate if I approach them but anything beyond that I go off personality. A hot girl with a incompatible personality won't be as enjoyable as an average one with a compatible personality.
  15. You can still underestimate its potential despite knowing it can be changed. You're making an assumption that social need is a unchangeable limit. This is one of those cases where you put too much intellectual theory and not enough practice. Do more work and integrate more truths into your being and come back and tell us if you think the same instead of trying to prove some mental masturbatory theories. People don't solve ego backlash for me. It creates a form of escapism which only delays the inevitable of dealing with it and often amplifies it when it resurfaces. I prefer to deal with things right as they surface than beat around the bush.
  16. There are already a lot of threads made about weed. You'll probably find a lot of thoughts if you search for them than you'd receive on this thread.
  17. You can quit with the mental gymnastic comparisons. Leveraging the demonization of heroin against porn won't help you.
  18. "Nothing is truth, everything is permitted" "Is not here to do anything you want but to be used with wisdom" - paraphrase of Altair
  19. @Nivsch it's not cheating if you rewire its needs. A lot of our "needs" come from our own psychological states which can be changed. Being one is more than an intellectual theory. There are limits to what you can rewire in your lifetime, but you may be underestimating it.
  20. Ask your team leader for more work and if he had none to give you how can he get on you for it? Unless it is one that f those act busy deals
  21. A lot of people seem to think transcending something means to get rid of it. The great paradox is these dualities are still there and just as valid. You just are not restricted to it by rising above. Not caring what other people think doesn't mean to not strategically plan to reach your goals. And transcending these dualities do not mean to disregard the feelings of others. Their feelings are yours. I don't think you quite get what transcending these dualities actually mean.
  22. This is why you pair enlightenment work with personal development work.
  23. It's a matter of how delusional rather than are/aren't . You will follow your delusion until you see past it. Experience it to its fullest and explore every knook and cranny of it. Then you can shine light on the dark.
