  1. That's cool, not depressing. Life is kinda like VRChat. There are all these different avatars walking around, and you can meet them, and interact with them, but you're basically interacting with yourself through different incarnations. It's beautiful and miraculous - certainly not something to kill yourself over. It can be disorienting, though. I needed three years to come to terms with this.
  2. Well, you are talking to yourself, but that doesn't mean that there aren't "other" conscious beings that aren't truly "other". Don't invalidate the consciousness that is here, for we meet as presences. Every being is a divine individual.
  3. Of course there are. I'm here ?‍♂️
  4. Cause and effect on every level: mental, emotional, physical. Here is a pdf of all the insights that I've collected on Karma.
  5. Melville wrote that book. However, the failure of Moby-Dick didn't stop him from writing more books. Writing wasn't his life purpose, though. For writing isn't a life purpose. Neither is music. Your life purpose is to respond to what the universe puts in front of you. It might be a book, or a piece of music, but most of the time that's not what it is that the universe is asking you to pay attention to. I recommend Singer's Surrender Experiment.
  6. You can tell the influence it had on McKee's Story.
  7. Can't say I liked the movie.
  8. McKenna's flagship quote explains it all: “Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behaviour and information processing. They open you up to the possibility that everything you know is wrong.”
  9. 33/36. I'm not surprised. I'm pretty good at reading people, but my social skills still suck.
  10. This might be the funniest fall I've ever seen: ???
  11. In my experience, this is not true. After the experience of the infinite, your psyche, with its particular hang-ups and fears, will resurface to be reexamined and reformed. I wish you could stay fearless forever, but, alas, it doesn't work that way. If you want to become fearless, you need to engage with life itself, for it is the crucible of life that shapes and transforms the psyche, not awakening experiences on the cushion. It's not guaranteed by anything. But intention and attention are required, if it is ever to become a reality. God-Realization, especially the way it's taught here, can also thwart the realization of these points. It can turn you into a narcissistic devil.
  12. I'm a Warrior now.
  13. The movie is better than expected. But they totally based Ellie on Juno, not just her looks but her personality, too.
  14. It's not a bait. Consider the following pursuits: Becoming mindful Becoming a good human being Becoming psychologically whole Becoming wise and loving Becoming a sane and benevolent presence Becoming a great communicator Becoming a powerful creator Becoming an adult None of that is guaranteed by God-Realization. Spiritual people, especially those that rely on psychedelics, take this whole "I am God" nonsense way too seriously. So you are God. Now what? What's meaningful, in the end, is what we value in each moment. Are you going to embody, moment to moment, the enlightened values of love, wisdom, and compassion? That's what it comes down to.
  15. It's even worse than a waste of time: it's the ultimate narcissistic pursuit. There are much better things you can do than trying to realize that you are God.
  16. "The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core." The first half hour is boring, but it gets interesting.
  17. I love this: "How many more until you're finally satisfied? How many orgasms, how many scenes will satisfy you? Give me a number. You've probably done this thousands of times, will 1 more finally satisfy you? 100 more? 1000 more? Do you want to do this when you're 70? I've seen men like that. Is that who you want to be? Are you going to be that creepy old guy lusting after young women, browsing pornhub, jerking your old man dick? Your actions will shape who you are going to be in the future. You take action NOW in order to achive your ideal future version, not when you feel like it. If you wait until you finally have the willpower, it's not going to happen. You don't keep doing nofap as long as you feel like it, you're doing it PERIOD. Don't give yourself outs. There is no other option, this is who you are now. You don't watch porn, you don't masturbate PERIOD." - When you're about to relapse, ask yourself this : NoFap (reddit.com) ?
  18. Let's not forget the great Vernon Howard: I'd put him on the former list, too. Howard is a great teacher of Human Adulthood.
  19. Would watch.
  20. The 1993 sequel is even better. The comedy and pacing is much better.
