Yes we are like children trying to explain neuroscience. -

Yes somebody talk about that! I gave it a quick look on Wikipedia but my brain is seriously not soaking anything in right now lol -

Yes, absolutely! In fact anyone that wants to create a 'key' or 'legend' to their specific language and symbolism they like to use, would be much easier for those who want to teach here and to hone their language skills, see what works, what doesn't work. -

From my first post : Now by truth, I'm referring less to ultimate truth but more of the multitude of half truths that lead us to remembering Ourself, or whatever the ultimate truth is, i don't claim to know. Now, you can say to forget all of that and self inquire until you remember, (or stop forgetting), but here's the issue: Much of the path is secretly massaging, coaxing, disciplining, taming and loving the ego so that it surrenders and accepts its fate. Skip it, and anything you tell someone appears as nothing to ego. It won't accept it, even if logically is seems like the best advice. -

I know, I know, BUT what we could do is have a sticky thread titled 'recommended language use' or something... 'enlightened grammar' ... Nah... We could discuss preferred language on here and add them to the sticky thread when agreed upon one. And I'm just talking about easy stuff, like not calling the small self 'ego', and leave ego for the animalistic part of the brain which filters reality, or sense of self worth. If anything this thread does serve to point out some of the strange confusing language that we use, and I'm super interested in hearing more examples -

@Mu_ @Zigzag Idiot Well at least the thread is here now, so as we continue to converse on this forum we can point out inconsistencies and downright confusing terms that we use in our Lani*, as they arise. The garden still needs tending! *autocorrect mistake, meant to say language but it apparently is the hawaiian word for Jeevan** heaven, so I left it.. **wow another autocorrect mistake, this one, is an Indian name that means 'bringer of life'.. Ok lol I'll stop now -

Haha I think I was just finding an escuse to feed my addiction @Zigzag Idiot I like the idea of spontaneous idiocy and your quote about the sly man really massages this characters ego because it makes me think there's hope I could still be special somehow by stumbling upon something special due to this unique mind which has been shaped for 33 years by ordered chaos. And why not? Massage away! -

@Zigzag Idiot thank you for your hefty contribution. I may need to smoke a little pot to understand it, and to be in the same mindset I was in when I wrote the post. How sad is that haha. My sobor mind is having a hard time wrapping around what you wrote but it sounds pretty interesting. At least I can start a semi intelligent post and then have all you smart people expand upon it! -

https://www.dreamviews.com/wiki/How-to-Lucid-Dream This is good quality guide -
seeking_brilliance replied to Toan's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yes you can actually.... It's called WILD induction but of course it takes lots of practice. You enter the dream fully conscious and ready to do anything. It is a very advanced practice of lucid dreaming but the most desirable. -

@Joseph ICU the website describes how the Bible is an esoteric path to enlightenment. Not necessarily how language is used in the Bible, but of course that is a large part of the allegorical interpretation. The website is http://Www.spiritofthescripture.com -

@Leo Gura @CreamCat @Joseph ICU @Joseph Maynor @Apparation of Jack @electroBeam @Nahm Here's maybe a better example of what my point is with this thread : I know that creating a unified language for this work can't be forcibly done, may never happen, or is already well in motion thorough the invention of internet. BUT there could be A FEW things that we could agree on as a society /community that we could change in our language to simplify and uncomplicate understanding. For example : in english we tend to personify the ego, saying it does this and that and doesn't want this and that, but no it's not! The ego is the ego. A natural evolved process happening in a so called brain. We tend to, at least in English, refer to the illusionary dream self as the ego. We've bastardized the word, kind of, because most people that aren't into this work consider the definition of ego to be 'a person's sense of self-esteem or self-importance' and in the psychoanalysis field : 'the part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious and is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity.'. A part of the mind. Not a self. But then under that it says in the philosophy field : '(in metaphysics) a conscious thinking subject. So now it's a self? And then we learn there's no self but we still (confusingly) refer to self as ego, and refer to the animalistic process in the mind that filters reality as ego. Its confusing! And we perpetuate it! I propose we come together as a society / community and agree to refer to the illusionary self as the illusionary self. Or as I like to say, the character. Or at least agree to stop referring to it as the ego. We have the power! ?? Let's stop confusing the newbies! -

@Joseph Maynor Neat thank you. I'll read it soon @CreamCat yes you are right! I remember watching a Japanese game devoloper being translated and the way they put things, even just talking about normal things, is very poetic. And alot of gesture based accompaniment as almost to make up for the lack of words -

Yes you're right ? Anyway, my main point to make was there are small changes we can make to our already popular English language that streamlines how we talk about this work. Haha I know but as it unfolded for me is exactly what you are supposed to look for to realize you are dreaming. Pictures and words can change like that out of the blue. -

Holy shit I'm dreaming... What happened to the other picture you posted?? (originally it was a statue of the different people looking at the elephant) Oh I see.... The tower of babel is fitting. Why is it bad to have unified language? Maybe we just weren't ready back then. Maybe language will never be ready but can be a good precursor to something that works, like telepathy. -

Thank you. I did find a local psychoanalyst but it was going to be a base price of around 2000 and I can't justify that with a husband who doesn't believe in this kind of stuff.... -

@DrewNows @Preetom I do SOME self inquiry, more like passive inquiry maybe. I'll periodically ask "who is this experience happening to". But I don't sit for practice. I also consider conversing on here a form of self inquiry, but that's more in the conceptualization field, probably -
seeking_brilliance replied to winterknight's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Preetom I think I've convinced myself that I'll work on focus skills first but that doesn't happen much either.... -
seeking_brilliance replied to winterknight's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Well I tend to just not do it lol. Just like I tend to not meditate but every now and then an effort is made. Been trying to let the desire to do it come naturally instead of forcing it. I have complete lack of focus so that doesn't help
