What is an ego? Can you identify one in your direct experience? -
Is hypergamy important to Mexicans?

seeking_brilliance replied to theking00's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
so you are asking how to stop being the ego? -
@themovement where were you raised?
-
Does hypergamy suggest that by marrying a superior person your genes will express different and build you a better body? Or is it mainly concerned about the offspring
-
@themovement why don't you tell us how you would like to reimagine hyoergamy in your favor.
-
What do you think about it? Are you asking in some context of spirituality?

Sounds like he meditated his way into a lucid dream, otherwise known as WILDing. Still a mystical experience in the sense that consciousness appears to go somewhere else than we are used to -

My numbers are 33, 66, and 420. (420 is my birthday, April 20, and of course pot day, or code for smoking pot, so I only count seeing this number when it's not related to those. Usually happens on digital clocks especially my phone) -

@StarStruck Also make sure you write some of these insights down to see if they still resonate with you while sober. -
seeking_brilliance replied to StarStruck's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Same with me. I used to call it power thinking, but with my daily use it's happening less and less. The insights that hit me are always very heart centered, so much so that it's noticeable that I don't think 'from the heart' while sober. (not 100% true, but very noticeable) -

That was hilarious. Kind of sounds like Katy Byron's the work, but I could be wrong about that... -

You aren't supposed to 'listen' to them. Just ignore them. they will work in the background. Like I said though, isochronic tones are more effective and work the same as shamanic drumming except you get to pick which hertz (brainwave) the 'drumming' will put you in -
seeking_brilliance replied to Pouya's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
You can use alpha or theta beats to quickly get you in those brainwaves. Just ignore them and continue meditating as usual. Must use headphones for binaural. Theta beats may put you on the edge of sleep so you have to train yourself to stay awake. But this is the magic area where visions and insights will come to you, or even step into a lucid dream and do some harcore meditation /spiritual work -

They work, if that's what you're asking. Although isochronic tones are supposed to be more effective and don't require headphones. -

Maybe you are trying to force a LP instead of aligning with what is natural for you? -
seeking_brilliance replied to kieranperez's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
sure, what would you like to be called? -

interesting... I'm curious to see if this works for you again. It makes sense, because you are speaking to both monkey mind and subconscious at the same time. You are telling monkey mind "do not be aware", which is like putting a big red button that says "don't push". And then they say that subconscious only picks up the main word of the sentence, in this case "aware", so you are telling it to "be aware". Same kind of method of falling asleep, where you actually try not to fall asleep. -

Dogs are very evolved. I work with dogs and its amazing to me how they have developed complex emotions and fear based mental disorders. I honestly would not be surprised if they start becoming self aware and possibly speaking in the next few thousand years. That's just me being silly though. -

Awesome! that means that right now, i'm simultaneously bored at work and also having the time of my life at Disney world! That's amazing! -

@Buba might want to find an energy reader or reiki healer who can help you decide if you have any blockages -
seeking_brilliance replied to Michael569's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Michael569 to explain to those who aren't into this work, or think its all "woo-woo", you just use the excuse that lots of people around the world meditate for. To quiet the mind. To help issues with overthinking. To train the mind to be still, quiet, and focused. You can tell them that your school work had improved ten fold, which probably wouldn't be far from the truth if you are taking classes. Meditation doesn't have to be spiritual, to those that don't care for spirituality. -
seeking_brilliance replied to okulele's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Holy crap, I can totally relate. @okulele How should we go about this prayer thing? Maybe vote for one a week, and the prayer team focus on that? Otherwise it will be scattered and less effective. Also, should we vote to do it a the same time in the day, or does that not matter because time is an illusion? -

It appears that nearly everyone wants to share the truth when they find it. This accounts for the thousands of known religions around the world. And although every one of them seems to end up being completely bastardized after the founder's passing, you can easily go back through the material and find sprinkles of Truth within. There's an entire website devoted to proving the Holy Bible as an allegorical metaphor for enlightenment. And he does this without taking anything from the apocryphal texts. Just the protestant Bible as it exists today. This makes it very accessible to current Christians who are growing restless and unfulfilled in their religion, but have something familiar to show them truth. Of course everything is interpretation, but reading his interpretations would at least unlock your ability to make discernments for yourself, and I'm sure you could accomplish this with any sacred text. One of the main obstacles to spreading the truth, is that there is no unified language to speak about it. And unfortunately right now in our evolution we still rely on language to function. The entwinement of language and thoughts require us to have complicated realizations and ideas explained to us in our particular language (including symbolism) or in the most layman terms as possible. At least we think that it is necessary, and that's just as bad as it being reality. Another main obstacle is that everyone who finds truth can only explain it in their own terms. And then there are only so many like-minded people who click with the language used, and complete their path to self-discovery. An obstacle of having a unified language for sharing truth, is that not only does everyone share differently, but only until recent in human 'existence' , most people remained inside their village and had little contact with the outside world. World travelers were a rarity, until of course we evolved and upgraded our modes of transportation. Dialects form, because language is so dependent on social cues. Social cues tell us what to do and where to go. In a way, they govern us. And social cues are distinct to any social group, which until recently remained small to moderately large. Nowadays, social groups extend to all corners of the world, in the hundreds of millions size. With the internet, it is easy for anyone in the world to learn English online. And you can watch as it becomes a world dominant language, not only spoken language, but a world dominant language for the internet too. Not only that but you can witness a unique dialect of internet language taking form. Lol, ttyl, rofl, hashtags, and others are only the beginning. Now is the time to create a unified language for spreading truth, in English. Now by truth, I'm referring less to ultimate truth but more of the multitude of half truths that lead us to remembering Ourself, or whatever the ultimate truth is, i don't claim to know. Now, you can say to forget all of that and self inquire until you remember, (or stop forgetting), but here's the issue: Much of the path is secretly massaging, coaxing, disciplining, taming and loving the ego so that it surrenders and accepts its fate. Skip it, and anything you tell someone appears as nothing to ego. It won't accept it, even if logically is seems like the best advice. I'm talking about self inquiry, being one of my issues that ego is running from. It thinks it needs some more messaging and coaxing, I guess. And it will trick itself into thinking it knows what it should do, meanwhile running like hell and avoiding its Ultimate destruction. So do you think a unified language for sharing truth would be beneficial? Is it even possible? Hell, I'd settle for a unified language to just use on here. Some will scream cult behavior... but that is just a limiting label to put on something important like this, and it wouldn't be a rule to use this language, but available to those who wish to learn in a like minded fashion. And who knows, maybe it will catch on across the internet somehow. For example, we should always have uncapitalized 'i' when talking about the characters perspective, even if it begins a sentence. This simplifies and uncomplicated talking about both in character and talking about Total Self. Example: i am chariacture of Myself. If this interests you, what suggestions do you have for creating a more unified language for spreading truth? Edit** my main point is that we could do this as an online society. Not so much make a new language of course, but modify the already popular English language in a way that streamlines and uniforms how we talk about this work.
