I was abused as a child by my dad. You don’t know me. I remember being pushed down stairs and chased for doing the simplest things. I still believe people have the responsibility to not be abusive.
-
I get that and it’s true. If I hit a kid everyday I bet he is going to be abusive. He still has a responsibility and he still goes to jail. People are not born bad, they experience a bad life and act out of fear. But you can’t lost yourself and harm other people without recieving a penalty. That’s not how a society works. We need jail not to punish or shame people, but to protect the collective.

The reason you and I are here just discussing this right now is because of laws. If you want to live in a stone age then that’s on you. You can’t do anything evil, you can only do something egotistical. That’s true. You are fundamentally acting out of love. Same thing with laws. A good society is based on a set of laws which actualizes these principles. 1. The individual cannot harm society more than a society harms an individual. 2. Society cannot harm an indicidual more than an individual harms society. There is a balance. Utilitarianism and ethics is neccesary or you are actually going to kill everybody physically and set mankind back 3000 years or so. Then nobody is going to be enlightened. These are simply required.

Don’t abuse people and act like an adult. There is no excuse for child abuse, ever. Same laws for everybody.
-
No. Here rises the need for a healthy level of blue. We need laws. Not mindcontrol.
-
I feel compassion for abused children and child abuse is sad. Those are the same. My point is if you are abused as a kid you don’t have the right to abuse your own kids when you start a family.
-
That’s too idealistic. There are always people born into this world starting from beige. If they don’t have any laws can basicly create hell on earth in about 2 weeks.
-
Yeah why drink water, it’s just your ego trying to survive. Don’t be so egotistical. If everyone held this ideology the world ends pretty fast. Why punish criminals? It’s just for your own survical we should just let them all out and let them do whatever they want. Combating devilery and ego is not what should be stigmatized here.
-
You can be hit as a child and that’s sad. Doesn’t give you the right to hit your own children when you grow up.

Same thing. I get upset about people trying to belittle other people with irrational beliefs. I also get upset at people abusing others. As I wrote in my OP. Brainwashing. True, but the reason they keep holding on is fundamentally because of ego. I get mad at them for trying to brainwash people like a cult. Like saying you go to hell for having sex before marriage probably ruined a couple milion relationships at this point. No, I don’t consider peoples age when contemplating ethics.
-
I question my beliefs, and I do get your point. Doesn’t make my point wrong. You can be opposed to terrorism because it is unethical. And fight to stop it. Then you can of course let go but it doesn’t change the fact that the world would be a better place without it.
-
I think you get my point though. Im at an earlier stage of my development and need to work on some issues related to abuse. Im going to pursue this spiritual path when im emotionally healthy and financially independent.
-
I feel bad for the children, the adults who waste their energy and time, the victims of war caused by it and all the people who get fooled out of a spiritual, fullfiling life.
-
I think what your point is not to act out of hate and fear, but out of love. That’s true and I agree with that. But the problem still persists.
-
Yes you can get a lot of wisdom out of religious texts if you filter out bullshit. No you don’t get anything out of it by being indoctrinated with all of their irrational beliefs. I think spirituality is amazing. Not a problem with that at all. If you feel there is wrong to critizise religion for mass-manipulation because it is grounded in ego then I can say it is wrong for you to critizise my perspective of critizising religion because it too is grounded in ego. I don’t think pointing out a flaw caused by the human ego is fundamentally selfish.

I guess it's a spectrum of maltreatment we are dealing with. Some beliefs work better than others. Learning that you are evil if you do this and this break people over time. A lot of gay people with religious beliefs have this problem. People should learn to update their beliefs and question them whenever they see that something isn't working in their life. They should teach this in schools.
-
I think the deeper problem is getting people to be less ideological overall. It creates a lot of problems generally. Should be taught in schools.
-
That's a problem too! Both of them destroy true exploration, open-mindedness and spirituality. Systematic destruction of people's life experience. I just find religion especially frustrating.
-
I actually want to correct that, mixed something up. Same thumbnail, different video. My main point is that if you take a child and show irrational beliefs into them and never teach them to think rationally, then it's maltreatment. Kind of like never telling a kid that Santa Claus really isn't real instead of letting them grow up without learning to be sceptical and question his environment.
-
It's true that we got a problem in our education system but that doesn't make the problem of religion any smaller.
-
It's the first vid that shows up if you type "religious indoctrination" on YouTube.
-
@Shiva Im not mass abusing any kids to the point of crying no.
-
Well all wars start on some type of disagreement. And a lot of them are coming from 2 religions clashing .
-
Makes sense but it's unethical to start wars or indoctrinate in children because of this. Needs to be stopped in a way. It's the stuff like this. I consider this child abuse.

Why?
