@Annoynymous Now that your heart has been broken open, take a look at what's on the inside.

@luckieluuke First time I realised I was dreaming I got so excited that I woke myself up ahaha -
@Leo Gura That makes sense, guess I'm just muddling the situation But OP you can definitely enjoy coding without wanting to be a developer forever!

Maybe you have to understand the intricacies of laying bricks to become the greatest architect... For myself at least, web/mobile apps are a medium through which I create technology related to my life purpose. So I have been down the path (still am whilst I transition towards my life-purpose full time) of just coding and designing for the paycheck. I worked casually as a programmer, I could only do so much of that before I began to hate my life. I now run my own web and app development business, which I enjoy doing enough to happily maintain whilst I work on Life Purpose. It covers my costs and provides me with a high degree of freedom which is important. For me though my ideal domain for my life purpose is technology (startups), and having little capital and high expectations meant having to do the work by myself. For now at least, until I can create more value by paying someone else to do the programming. But I'm the programmer, designer, marketer, manager, writer, editor and everything in my business (which keeps things way more interesting) so I'd recommend not limiting yourself to the one role. Just felt there was a slight negative skew in the thread, and I'd try and rephrase it based on my personal experiences. Basically programming towards your life purpose is enjoyable and fulfilling, framing it so you don't end up being the programmer forever is probably best -- at some point you definitely want to move solely into the bigger-picture role. For those interested, I just launched my Life Purpose app actually: https://www.purposefinder.io (maybe you'll get some idea of the "value-driven" creations you can build through programming).

What is the differece between Zone of Genius and Domain of Mastery? I guess they are related, I'm getting caught up in getting good (moving towards mastery) in your ideal medium. For example, my domain of mastery is not necessarily programming since I enjoy it a lot but don't care for it in and of itself. It's a medium. I should seek to quazi-master my medium, but in a way that subordinates it to my true Domain of Mastery which I would call "Personal Growth" or "Individuation". I don't like that term though, it feels far too broad for a domain of master, like I need something specific. It feels a lot like a musician saying they want to master Music... I mean, it seems a little too vague. They probably have their unique style of music to master, or their unique instrument, not necesarrily the whole field. But then again, maybe a master would be interested in the whole field. I'm don't find myself interested in the whole field of Personal Development (which I feel is broad enough to include: Skills, finances, dating, etc.) as well as the core elements. So I limited it down from "Personal Development" to "Individuation" which is more specific, but again it doesn't feel like it encompasses the truth of what I want to master. I have this same issue with my Life Purpose: Help people explore their depths to grow wiser. But the words don't express what I actually feel. I've tapped into a certain feeling of my higher-self and purpose through a psychedelic experience, though it's like a dream now and the vision and feelings are vague. Even then I can tap into that and it feels right, the words however I have yet to get right. This linguistcally comunicates the message, but certainly not emotionally for me. Media that represents my life purpose: The Work, Maniac, ... I cry in certain movies/tv shows that connect to my core, same with certain songs. When I get to that point in the 1 sentence summary I'll have hit gold. I don't know if it's even possible though. Maybe I'm just working on the Life Purpose to delay / waste time that I could be working towards my Life Purpose...

Journey of Individuation This journal will serve as a way to document my journey through Individuation and Self-Actualisation. Growth, wisdom-seeking and life-purpose work. I will be updating this journal as often as I see fit. Only a fool would force a creative process to such a degree as to water down the quality of the insights. Most of what I am sharing here will be deeply personal insights. Hopefully they spur on further insights for myself, and also provide some degree of understanding into your own unique being and subconscious mind. I will share my process, the most effective methods I've discovered by psychoanalysis and depth psychology, psychedelic work, and most other ways of delving into myself. Of course, this is not split from self-actualisation work. My journey has already begun. But now let the writing begin. A little about me Age: 19 Sex: Male Location: Brisbane, Australia Career: Building my website & app development business since 15, ramping up now -- Turboclicks Working on my first app related to my Life Purpose (check it out here, you'll enjoy it!) -- Purposefinder History: Started my journey at 11 (small steps to begin with: Rich Dad, Poor Dad; Magic of Thinking Big; LOA) Started programming and designing at 13 Built my first paid website at 15, business has grown naturally from there Been on a proper self-development journey since 14, always had a thirst for knowing-myself and living the fullest life Moved out at 18, working on launching my first life purpose app Don't think much else is particularly relevant... That should cover the basics so you have a better reference if you're reading and I start rambling about personal issues or my history in a self-psychoanalysis session.

@saint_charming7 Don't see why you'd necessarily have to move back. I'm sure if you felt strongly enough about it you'd be sufficiently motivated to do what is required to find a way to stay (if that feels right). Don't expect starting the business to instantly feel significantly better either. It's going to be tough, just make sure you push through any resistance you might have to complete. But good luck, feel the excitement building up.

@saint_charming7 Which one is more emotionally difficult? Which path gives you the most growth. Counter-intuitive moves tend to come from pretty strong intuitions

@lmfao Be careful about your reason for using Psychedelics. But LSD / MDMA can absolutely be used to open you up to the feelings of universal love and care that are ALWAYS there. Who's to say you have to be religious to get those messages? Don't be religious. Be spiritual. My spirituality and psychedelic experiences have let me see that EVERYTHING is a divine message crafted by you for yourself, it's exactly what you need to hear. You can frame it however you like. You don't have to cut yourself off from that experience of God/Union/Lovingness, just the ideological aspects of religion. Make friends with hippies and spiritual people, go dance and laugh and lose yourself in the state of flow. -

@lmfao What would it take to embody those good feelings in your life more often from your new perspective? -
@Leo Gura I'll drive you to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo myself ... I'll even throw in a free crocodile showing haha.

Just sent you a PM with a great site to use for all these different tests in one coherent place. Career & Intelligence type personality tests are useful, as is Myers-Briggs and Big Five, etc. At the end of the day they are a small part compared to intention and passion but can also help guide you. A key aspect of Big Five is openness, if you're high in openness you probably aren't going to work well in a cubicle crunching numbers all day. These things are helpful and the tests can help reveal in clear words what you already know about yourself unconsciously. The best way to see if it works is to try, the site I sent you has all free tests. Give it a go and see if it gives you that aha-moment you're looking for.

@Serotoninluv It's more about wanting to develop the state you in most often, I'm sure if you were tripping 90% of the time, you'd want to bring sober insights into the trip space. -

@Arthur has a good point. Read my last experience on LSD to see how things can go wrong. I realise now that I need to spend more time on my foundations in the "material world" before I continue to delve into the rabbit hole. -
+1 for Australia tour, East Coast would be a good run - Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne - and I'd pay good money for that to cover extra travel costs.

Reading this at the moment. Definitely loving the theoretical aspects and multi-disciplinary approach. Direct experience through some psychedelics has been much more satiating for me personally though.

My nature trips have been great man. Remember: to intensify the experience lay back and close your eyes, to lighten it open your eyes and go for a walk. Take some good music. -
Bluebird replied to kieranperez's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Set a loose intention around the rough idea you want. Say it out loud once or write it down somewhere or think it. Then let it go. Don't worry about it too much on the trip, when you come down, you'll see how the intention manifested itself (or sometimes didn't). @kieranperez Enjoy working through this one on your trip Make sure to share your insights with me... -
Do you have much experience in different areas? Go hang out with more athletes, go busk on the streets. Whatever man, build up some experience of what different things are like. If you try to find your life purpose without having tried different things, then you are (for the most part) picking randomly. Is it worth trying out the real world of doing, rather than just conceptualising?

I just wrote a whole essay for you, but it didn't save. So sorry, I'll make this one brief and give you a few questions. Some of the questions may be way off, but just sit with them for a bit. Do you think you might have an issue with completion that is playing out over and over again? Do you actually enjoy blogging (do you even know what it entails) Go create a Medium.com account NOW and start writing every day, then start marketing the writing and getting it in publications Are you just in a brief down phase, or have you felt this way the entire time? Are you unconsciously afraid of what comes after graduating? Do you really have to leave your country, or can you pick up part-time work and work on your business part time? What feels right "NOW", not based on future possibilities? Is it worth discussing the possible options with your family and having them weigh in with their outside perspectives (they are probably more relevant and personalised than mine)? Also is a good read: https://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2008/12/overcoming-indecision/ https://www.purposefinder.io/guides/a-guide-for-highschool--university-students-finding-your-life-path/

One of the best documentaries I've watched in years. This is not just a Prison documentary Do yourself a favour and watch it. Then use it as a model for your own healing and the healing of others. It's a beautiful way to connect to your heart.

Intermittent fasting is a great tool to integrate into your life. Consistently eating one meal a day seems too excessively controlling. Instead what I recommend is do this for a few days and then listen to your body and what it needs. Then eat well and eat lightly when you feel a real need to. Not just the onset of hunger. I've gone 24hrs without eating before simply because my body wasn't hungry. Of course this varies based on person to person and exercise quantity.

Stage green is the next step, not a regression. Don't know how long it would have taken me to embrace this realisation myself.

A quick example of dream analysis Had this dream a little while back and decided to analyse it, the analysis ends with an action step to integrate into my life. Which is ultimately the goal of the dream analysis, otherwise you can never grow through communication with your unconscious. Dream Was dared by father to try on women's clothes at a store because I said I wasn't affected by peoples opinions much any more (or something like that). I decided to try on a bra/thong setup in a private changing room. But it was a curtained one and an older woman kept trying to get in not knowing I was there. I was doing everything I could to not let her in. Analysis I believe we talked about Drag earlier in the day, so this could be a hangover from that conversation. Interesting that my father is daring me to try on woman's clothes. This seems important because of it's specificity. Is this my masculine self (Father), daring me to embrace my feminine aspects more fully. Initially, it was to just try on shoes I believe, but when I got there I decided to embrace the challenge and felt compelled to try on a very sexual piece of feminine lingerie. This tends to be the way I act in the world, diving deep. However, when it came to presenting this femininity in myself to the world, I was fighting it. I didn't want my femininity to be seen, even though I was getting comfortable with it myself. Women were trying to see my feminine side, yet, I wasn't willing to show it. This just led to a massive struggle and anxiety on my part. Key action: Embrace my feminine aspects, and let that be seen by the world (particularly other women).
