  1. Well...I sorta dig systems biology these days, I think it's the future. But it may not be for you. Just do whatever you're into and help the field evolve into Yellow.
  2. Pickup can be Green...if you recycle the condom.
  3. The Way lies in not doing what is natural and easy for you. Trying to polish that last speck off the apple won't make it better for you when you actually need a banana. Good-Bad duality is a problem in itself. Not every problem in the world is solved through more compassion. It's Yin-Yang, not an extra dose of Yin.
  4. How do you know you need to be even more compassionate? Maybe you're plenty compassionate already? Maybe compassion is easy for you. Maybe you need to be more of a prick or something? (I'm kidding. I mean more analytical and matter-of-fact.)
  5. I was like, genuinely concerned that people would start claiming Indigo status by 2019. Indigo chillun! Like, Stop The Madness! Aight?
  6. Spiral Dynamics is totally becoming a cancer for spiritual seekers here. Sorry, just calling it as I see it. It's like an extra layer of bullshit to keep one ego-entranced. As if other stuff wasn't enough. The ego latches on to any notions of specialness like flies on flypaper. When you're fully enlightened it doesn't really matter to you what structural stage you're in. It's mildly amusing but you don't take it seriously, don't care. Only people who are not yet fully enlightened take this stuff seriously. As I've said before and I'll say again, it's just a fork from the seeking path to keep seeking (i.e. keep the ego alive.) Wilber's promotion of it is due to his incomplete awakening (and probably his massive blindspot which prioritizes certain qualities like universalism over the scary shadow of ethnocentrism of any flavor.) He has a strong unwillingness to let go of all the intellectual crap, all the knowledge of object which you need to enter God Consciousness (800s.) His personal issues need not be your issues. Smart guys find smart ways to keep seeking instead of fully awakening. There is such a thing as being too smart for one's own good when it comes to this stuff.
  7. Can I recommend a program that you will find useful? https://www.thegreatcourses.com/courses/scientific-secrets-for-self-control.html Some people are overly reward-oriented, and handle frustration poorly. You have to make self-control your friend in order to achieve long-term goals.
  8. Hi Sokkrates, Machine elves, spirit guides, archetypal entities are all Cosmic Consciousness level events (700s.) The Absolute is 1000. In other words, this is an early stage (2nd stage) enlightenment phenomenon. There is still an I-thought and an "other" (such as an archetype.) The Absolute is 5th stage. You can look at all the maps, from Wilber, Grof, Ramaji, etc. They all say the same thing.
  9. The suffering doesn't "continue anyway." Suffering is in the resistance to what is, not in what is.
  10. It's not about understanding of enlightenment. That doesn't mean anything, doesn't count for anything. It's about overcoming the fundamental fear of death. Maybe not physical death, but death of self-concept, which is equally frightening. It's like, here's a 200 foot drop and rocks below. Are you ready to jump? I tell you that you'll be fine, you'll magically sprout wings and fly away, but do you believe me? If no, that's why it's so hard.
  11. Hi Amanda, "Ego" is the separate self narrative that identifies as The Doer. The reason "you" blame yourself for your mistakes is because this separate self narrative is constantly running, imagining itself the doer. It's just a thought process. In your case it may be double layered: ego blaming the Ego concept. Everything that happens in life is just nature taking its course. Then the ego either takes credit or blame. This is entirely fictional. You have to "love" or embrace all that arises in you, including your fictions. Not necessarily believe them, but love them. There is a difference. All your icky, negative emotions, thoughts, impulses. That's what you need to love: everything you hate about yourself. That's how you become free.
  12. Experienced meditation doesn't really mean anything as far as full awakening is concerned. People need to understand this. It's not about how long you've been a seeker, it's about how fearless you've been. It's like there's a chasm and you have to dive in. Sacrifice everything that you think is "you." Slay all the dragons guarding the treasure. It's not time, it's willingness to give it all up.
  13. It doesn't really change anything. When you're fully enlightened, you're back to zero. You're not anyone "special." You're just you. The enlightened person may have an occupation or business that reflects it, but otherwise they are usually quite normal, unless they are some kind of leader in society. It's not like your tastes in music change. You don't suddenly only start listening to Indian raga music or something. It's not like your taste in clothing changes. You don't suddenly start wearing diapers or togas. It's not like you start speaking differently, in King James English or something. It's not like you become a vegan, a celibate, a "minimalist" or any other ostensibly spiritual or trendy thing. You may be those things, but only because your personality/body was already inclined in that direction. People like the Dalai Lama are playing a social role for which they are well-suited, but enlightenment isn't solely responsible for their behavior or lifestyle. You can be enlightened and listen to hard rock, smoke ciggies, eat beef, wear wife beaters and cuss. That's just prarabdha. People can't wrap their heads around that because they are incapable of distinguishing between prarabdha (i.e. karma or destiny) and enlightenment. They think in terms of specialness or perfection. But perfection is IN the imperfect. The imperfect wholly embraced IS perfection. This is almost impossible for an unenlightened person to accept. As long as there's an ego strand, there's a desirable and undesirable. But no. The undesirable must be embraced 100%. That's how you become a whole person instead of half a person besieged by the world. “If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.” Gospel of Thomas
  14. Two points: 1) Just because a certain veil has been lifted, doesn't mean that saps your motivation to live. In fact, now you may have fewer obstacles to a fulfilling life. 2) You may now have goals more in tune with your true nature and purpose.
  15. No. That's not how any of this works. Being at a certain stage isn't about conscious understanding or surface action (i.e. faking it.) It's all about a baseline of inner depth from which all thought and action springs. You can't even be at a certain stage just because you want to, let alone if you're forced to. You genuinely have to mature into it. You can't force a puppy to be a big dog.
  16. You can feel the I-thought arising. Even when you're in non-duality you can feel it arising, it's just that instead of hitting the ego "center" and going into a loop it hits the "no-self" or "cosmic self" object and scatters. So whether it's there depends on whether it even begins to arise. It is fully gone at 1000/Unity Consciousness. Voice Dialogue technique, Active Imagination, examining your resistances, and then if you want to drop a nuke an iboga psychospiritual journey (but with a lot of caution and preparation.)
  17. It's not like that. It's more like you're not attached to feeling any certain way. Enlightenment is when "it's ALL good." Before enlightenment there's attachment to feeling good instead of feeling bad. Avoiding bad feelings. After enlightenment there's no need to avoid anything. You take everything as it comes. There's no desire to cling to positive emotions or to avoid negative ones.
  18. Don't trust the grand social narrative is a Green value. Empathy, multiculturalism, equality are all downstream from the essence of Green. Green is postmodern. Orange is modern. Blue is traditional. Yellow is post-postmodern. The theme is the same though, no matter how sophisticated the symbolism, plot or character development is. Westworld is a running show, so of course that would be the case. The Matrix, even with sequels (which were bound to the original's template) is a movie. Yeah, I dig it too, but its sophistication doesn't make it Yellow. I haven't seen Primer in ages, so don't hold me to this, but I think it's Green to the extreme. Nihilistic, relativistic. I'm trying to think about this, and Hollywood went heavily Green starting in the mid-1990s. I remember a ton of Orange movies in the 1980s but not many recently. I guess something like Precious would be Orange, but I'd have to watch it again (typical Cinderella stories in the modern context are Orange.)
  19. In a word, yes. A qualified shamanic provider is good support. You get the proper set, setting, dosage and most importantly aftercare. I recommend that highly.
  20. The phrase "achieved non-duality" is a bit vague. Two separate ideas: 1) Experienced a non-dual state. 2) Stabilized in non-duality. E.g. to use Ramaji's scale you can experience non-dual states anywhere from the high 570s or at least 580s upwards. To stabilize in non-duality you need to reach 640. So there is a whole zone where you feel unstable. Yeah, I have no idea what Osho's issue was. It's much more likely your health will improve, since you're more likely to do what works best for you.
  21. At this point a lot of people here have unfortunately developed a knee-jerk reaction to JBP. It's called being balanced. He is never going to be Timothy fucking Leary on psychedelics but he's not exactly the US Congress in 1966 either. I've done major psychedelics very beneficially, and I don't see anything wrong with what he says. Not like there aren't a lot of fools out there who aren't mature enough to do it wisely. There are layers of precautions necessary.
  22. Stage Green can't provide any solutions because it lacks the mechanisms to discern what actually works as this requires value judgments of Blue (stability) and Orange (competence) which it rejects. It can point out problems but not provide workable solutions. This is why Yellow is coming in as the new leading edge. Yellow integrates Blue and Orange in search of answers for Green-discovered problems. There's nothing wrong with a healthy Green, but we rarely see that anymore as it twists itself into knots of self-contradiction every step of the way. Green is done as a leading edge. When dominant, it ultimately leads to disintegration in its extreme mode. "Aperspectival madness" as Wilber himself said. San Francisco streets are overflowing with human feces. This is what Peterson is trying to get to without maybe being explicit about it (or maybe he has described it, but I haven't seen it.) Being concerned about aperspectival madness doesn't make you some kind of regressive Blue guy, it's a normal reaction to what's going on. It's not like Joe Rogan isn't concerned about a lot of it himself.
  23. Westworld is probably Green. Deconstruction of "consensus reality" movies are pretty Green, i.e. The Matrix, etc. There may be a spiritual subtext, but the main thrust is that Things Are Not As We Wuz Told (tm). In other words, anti-grand narrative. Yellow would have to be integral. I don't think there's a mass audience for it yet or that would grasp it. I can't think of any examples, really. Maybe there's something I haven't seen.
  24. Negation of all ontological concepts: the Self, God/Gods, etc. Unless you believe that only Buddhists fully awaken (which in itself is a concept to surrender), then definitely "yes".
