  12. In my opinion, any spiritual teacher who has ever said we're not supposed to have a thinking mind has grossly misunderstood spirituality. Regarding the thinking mind, the real question is: Do we use it, or are we used by it? When we use our minds, they become instruments of helpful creation... useful, uplifting, and inspiring for all. When we are used by our minds, they become instruments of needless destruction... devices of pointless aggravation and suffering for ourselves and everyone around us.
