@Mu_ I experienced pretty much everything I described. When I say infinite intelligence I'm referring to the universe and all life forms created by it, but I don't believe the past and future exist, only the present moment does. Interesting insight, I have been doing that for negative/self sabotaging thoughts or anything that triggers me in general. I imagine pulling the thought up from its roots, question that thought's existence (where it came from), intent (its purpose), rationality (is it logical or not) and then deduce it viciously and intelligently until I find the source and crush it to dust. I've been doing this with all thoughts that I deem not actual, or lacking actuality. -

@Joseph Maynor Realizing that your whole life is a fiction. The fact that you are a human is not a fact, but a fiction. The realization that you are the universe, you are consciousness itself. It's a holistic understanding, an understanding of your true nature. Realizing, you are this infinitely intelligent being that somehow got placed into a human vessel to experience finite levels of this intelligence. Although saying this doesn't really prove anything..when I felt it, it was completely different than intellectually understanding it, it was truly gloriously absurd. -

@WelcometoReality Good question. No, I didn't try to get there the first time..it just happened unexpectedly. Hmm.. Another solid point. @Jack River -

I think this answers it..My experience of enlightenment for 10 seconds at the time was different than how it is now. The puzzle changes constantly, Ah I see. -

@Outer I never said I was enlightened. @SoonHei I like the analogy @i am I AM interesting -
I was doing my meditation session, when suddenly it clicked, I felt it for probably about 10 seconds. It was the most profound thing ever. I'm still smiling from it. Lol, it was epic.

Your ability to feel would be the closest thing to attaining actuality. If you lost sight and hearing, it would be much harder for you to get the full direct experience, you would be stuck in imagination, your reality would be completely subjectively constricted. You would be farther away from actuality. -

@TheAvatarState I totally agree with that. It's weird because I was just having a laugh, and having similar thoughts o.0 -
SageModeAustin replied to SageModeAustin's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@TheAvatarState I remember right before it happened I asked myself the question if i'm not the body, then who am I? Then some dots started connecting, one of them being: I am consciousness itself, I am awareness itself and I felt as if I was a part of the entire room I was meditating in, then suddenly I felt a strong intuition that I AM everything, the universe ITSELF. It dawned on me that my entire life was just a fiction I was playing with myself. I was denying my own true nature my entire life. It was like a slap in the face, an aha moment. It was absurd. It made me want to laugh. Words aren't nearly enough to describe the true feeling, you gotta experience it for yourself -

SageModeAustin replied to MM1988's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@MM1988 No it's impossible. One example, If you are highly conscious, you are highly aware of your abilities and limitations. In the case you are aware of your weaknesses, you will still not have low self esteem because you will realize you have strengths that other people do not. Does this make those people without those strengths as you..inferior? No, of course not. You are not superior. You are not inferior. You are simply, you. -
The universe (infinite intelligence, unconscious mechanism) is calling out to you every second, telling you what the right thing to do is. When you follow and listen to this infinitely intelligent unconscious mechanism, you'll notice not only is it correct every time, but everyone else around you, also feels the truth in your answer.

@Rilles When it's effortless and so distinctly obvious. You'll notice you know the answer, but your ego fights against it. -

Those people didn't listen to the right thing to do. They got lost in their own mind. Don't worry about it sounding fluffy just follow it and you will see for yourself You will notice that its non-biased, distinct from other thoughts, epic and peaceful -

@Artaemis Yes there is many tricks from the mind @Flammable Not true. @Arkandeus Well said. -

@Rilles Just because you did something bad doesn't mean the universe told you to do it, it's easy to get lost in your own thoughts. -
@tashawoodfall Sorry to hear that, that must suck. Try being single for a year. Don't get into a relationship at all, learn to love yourself and be completely at ease with the thought of you dieing alone. This way no one can really hurt you because you've accepted and learned to live Independently. I've been practicing this and have noticed girls are attracted to me more because of this subtle Independent mindset.

@CreamCat Just typed it out.

It is quite possible to overcome infantile suggestions of the unconscious, and even to change the contents of the unconscious, by employing the right kind of technique. Whenever you begin to feel remorse for an act which your reason tells you is not wicked, examine the causes of your feelings of remorse, and convince yourself in detail of their absurdity. Let your conscious belief be so vivid and emphatic that they make an impression upon your unconscious strong enough to cope with the impressions made by your nurse or your mother when you were an infant. Do not be content with an alternation between moments of rationality and moments of irrationality. Look into the irrationality closely with a determination not to respect it and not to let it dominate you. Whenever it thrusts foolish thoughts or feelings into your consciousness, pull them up by the roots, examine them, and reject them. Do not allow yourself to remain a vacillating creature, swayed half by reason and half by infantile folly.... But if the rebellion is to be successful in bringing individual happiness and in enabling a man to live consistently by one standard, not to vacillate between two, it is necessary that he should think and feel deeply about what his reason tells him. Most men, when they have thrown off superficially the superstitions of their childhood, think that there is no more to be done. They do not realize that these superstitions are still lurking underground. When a rational conviction has been arrived at, it is necessary to dwell upon it, to follow out its consequences, to search out in oneself whatever beliefs inconsistent with the new conviction might otherwise survive..What I suggest is that a man should make up his mind with emphasis as to what he rationally believes, and should never allow contrary irrational beliefs to pass unchallenged or obtain a hold over him, however brief. This is a question of reasoning with himself in those moments in which he is tempted to become infantile, but the reasoning, if it is sufficiently emphatic, may be very brief.

When you don’t eat healthy do you feel neurotic? Let’s say you’ve been eating healthy everyday then decide to have a cheat meal . Will you feel neurotic for doing it?
-
@Leo Gura do you see a problem with this? Like what’s the point of all this self-development if we can’t even enjoy bad food once in a while? Imagine you are with all your friends and they buy your meal to be friendly, but you decline because you have this ‘path that you must follow’ whilst they enjoy the meal, being completely happy I’m not encouraging eating unhealthy by any means, but I do see a problem here Otherwords it’s a form of perfectionism (a good type of perfectionism, but still neurotic)

I usually do 25 minutes in the morning and 25 minutes before bed. At the end of my 25 minute night session tonight, I thought of doing an hour and 40 minutes on top of it. I didn't do it perfectly because my legs got sore, so I moved around a few times, but I pulled through somehow. At one point I felt super present and it felt so good. How about you guys?
