Aaron p replied to Truth Addict's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Truth Addict you need self enquiry. Saying anything more, at this point, will just confuse you. I believe you have created plenty of ideologies regarding spirituality, but beliefs and understanding are counter productive. You have to meditate and do self enquiry. Otherwise you'll spend your entire life gaining understanding of enlightenment as opposed to actually getting enlightened. You want me to read between the lines and tell you what you need? Self enquiry. Self enquiry. Self enquiry. If you do self enquiry and drop your beliefs about spirituality, you'll get it. If you put your focus on anything else (especially "spiritual" stuff) you'll fuck yourself over and not move towards enlightenment. Do not try to understand anything...just do self enquiry and meditation...learn how to do it good -
Aaron p replied to Edward95's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I noticed myself hearing a message from the Higher self one time...I put my hand up against a tree and felt it. And the message came: "none of it is real." Because I had grown up as a Christian and learned to call this voice "God" I accepted it, but could not comprehend it in the slightest. How the hell could this tree not be real. And I'm only starting to taste the first bits of understanding now... Enlightenment is the ability to look at reality and see it. It is my dream to see the stars one day...when I look up at them now all I see is my ideas and it feels false (a little tiny bit saddening to)...I've known since I was a child, something about the raw vastness of stars and outer space somehow exposed to my heart that something was off. That something just didn't look right. I just didn't expect it to be this dramatic. It's like when you pull a little string out of your sweater, but then it keeps pulling and pulling and you end up pulling apart near enough the entire jumper as opposed to one little thread lol. -
Aaron p replied to Amun's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Amun the matrix is still an ideology so, while it is a good metaphor in some respects, don't lean onto it. Just don't believe anything -
Aaron p replied to SQAAD's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@SQAAD right, so it depends what level of reality you are talking about. In the absolute sense, all reality is yours...the idea (and very 'real' sensation) that there are others with other reality, is still your idea. From the other side (a less pure one) yes, everyone creates thier own little reality. To ignore either would be foolish -
Aaron p replied to Anton Rogachevski's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Anton Rogachevski well... especially with spiritual work, the master is literally more of a student than the student himself. From what I can see, to "master" anything would be to move away from enlightenment. There is so much paradox to this, and it's so perfect and true and beautiful. -
Aaron p replied to Space's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Space excellent excellent excellent question. Theres a few things you need to remember when self enquiring, remember to always bring it back to that unspoken sense of, "I exist." This is the most crucial, and this sense only exists in the *present moment*. When your asking yourself "who am I" allow your mind a little bit of freedom, do not give wise philosophical answers...just answer how you feel. Do you *feel* like you *are* your personality? What part of the personality? (Go through different parts) Your social life? Your habits and addictions? Do you feel like you are your depression?...that it *is* you? And for each one, individually ask..."if this thing were to fade away, would my existence fade away? And if the answer is no then you cannot be that thing, even if it changed, you would not change...therefore it is not "you". These are my three most effective tips I remember for my own self enquiry. 1- Must return to the unspoken sense of "I exist." 2- Must be present moment (throughout) 3- Answers must be given from how you *feel* not what you know. -
Aaron p replied to Robert222's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Robert222 ok, confusion is not a bad thing. Confusion is a sign of growth (apparently). *Simplicity* is your highest friend. Enlightenment is FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR more simple than you think. This is tricky, because the easiest way past this is to trust your instincts. So much different advice, this person says to do this....and this person says to do this. The only way you will see is by opening your eye(s). Logic cannot carry you to this place. Spiritual progress is completely backwards compared to worldly progress (like college or uni). The further you go into spirituality, the more simple your understanding will become. Purification. The ONLY thing...I repeat.....THE-ONLY-THING you need to do, is get familiar with self enquiry, and meditation, but mostly self enquiry. I myself have only been on the path for 4 months, and I know that within my first 2 months I had to just surrender to the confusion and hold onto self enquiry and meditation. "There is no teaching, you are only here to find out who you are." If remember this, the early confusion will be a lot more tolerable. You just have to show your subconscious that your not what you thought you were, after a few months of doing self enquiry and meditation every day you'll begin to realise how something so simple could affect so much. It's...unspeakably simple and yet undeniably emense. You are, in the most literal sense possible, the entire universe. This is waiting for you to find it. Remember, there is no teaching AT ALL. Only find who/what you are using self enquiry. This is harder to stick to than you might think. -
Aaron p replied to Alfox's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Alfox I've heard an enlightened teacher talking about how, whenever a little bit of space comes between you and your mind/body then your mental capabilities somehow are released into being incredibly powerful and expansive. So we begin to know things that are impossible to know, see things that are impossible to see. Your seeing this, more than likely, as a result of a successful meditation habit. 1 John 4:8 "God is love." (Bible) ...but don't believe me yeh -
Aaron p replied to Arkandeus's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Arkandeus i will say this, in my direct experience I have (in the past) definitely encountered a phenomenon that sounds very like "Law of attraction" (LOA). When you know where to look and *how* to look...you can see it. But by no means let it become a belief. It's a bit deep to try to talk about it...but we definitely attract and repulse different things in our lives. I have a spiritual exercise I do, where basically I close my eyes and wait for my awareness to communicate with the mind. It's a visual process where I create an image of something and then destroy it, rebuild it in a different way, destroy it, rebuild it in a different way again, destroy it etc. Until I (somehow) know that my energy is in alignment with what I want to have. But yo, none of this is important. Just focus on enlightenment. It's not just fuck the law of attraction, fuck meditation, fuck enlightenment fuck actualized.org We must surrender all beliefs. Then we can find out *who we are.* Who *you* are. -
Aaron p replied to sarapr's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@sarapr do not believe anything Leo says (he's lying) ? find out for yourself, *believing* that "reality is nothingness" would be to fall into a trap. The easiest way to overcome this is to realise that you shouldn't believe anything, and "belief" isint what's being talked about. All of the cool places you can get to through meditation are really good to talk about, but never seek to enter these places...just meditate (and do self enquiry). There is no teaching, there is no teacher and there is no pupil. You are only here to find out who you are. Anything more than this, will work you *away* from enlightenment. (That statement is larger than you thing, or should I say...simpler...than you think ) This isint like college, you don't benefit from putting knowledge in your head. Enlightenment is not something, it the realisation that this "something" was somehow a fabrication from the start. It must be in your direct experience (this should not be hard, just observe "do I exist?") And do self enquiry. Your only trying to find out who you are. Infact, in a way...the more uninformed you are, the better. Do not treat this like another one of your hobbies...this is the realisation that all of your hobbies never existed. The reason leo can say such bold things like this is because he has simplified it so much more than other people. People always want more more more. But *purity* is less. If you were to purify gold 30 times with fire, it will be much smaller and lighter. Purify yourself of your ideas, including the idea the ideas are wrong. Who is the one who observes the belief that ideas are wrong? It is being observed after all, isint it (direct experience)? Bring to mind what you think you are and see for yourself..."this thing I think I am, is it being observed? If so, by whom?... especially if this thing is what I thought was me." -
Aaron p replied to Inliytened1's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I don't read books lol. I might have to start tho. I know that books can be very good if you get very good books, logical. I tend to not want to think about spirituality too much, doing so creates more and more ideological beliefs about what it is that your meant to be doing. My philosophy is this, (concerning enlightenment) if you know what you need to know (the bare bones) then you shouldn't add more knowledge to it. I keep as little knowledge as possible. Completely surrender to the confusion. I feel like this is the way "I" will progress fastest. -

Aaron p replied to Key Elements's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
My path began when I heard [what I'm pretty sure was] God's voice...as a Christian, I would have believed in the supernatural power of the holy ghost and things he told me came to pass. And so one day I seen Leo and the voice just said "stop, dig here." And Id grown so familiar with this voice telling me shit that I just obeyed it (as we were taught to do). I remember thinking, "How the hell does this guy have more spiritual revelation than my Christian teachers." Lo and behold, the voice was right. I knew something dramatic was going to happen, the voice had told me 2 months in advance that I was really going to like what was heading my direction...nearly as if it was a gift from Him. After I started meditating things really started to line up and make a shit ton of sense. EVERYTHING made sense, and yet this clarity was accompanied by a deep confusion as well, it was around this point where I realised confusion was good. So for 3 months I just trusted, not having a baldy notion what the hell I was doing. I could recognise that I was meant to be doing it. Then I guess it brings me to now, where I have a cold and I'm struggling to meditate for an hour (could only do 25-30 minutes of practise the last two days). Like I said, so many things made sense. I had come to see what Christianity actually was, it's a fucking riddle! A story to convey spiritual principals...i just needed to follow the spiritual rules (direct experience, no ideologies etc). I've dedicated myself to this now, and whether it take me 50 weeks or 50 years, I'm going to get enlightened. I'm meeting someone in Northern Ireland who is involved with spirituality as well and I plan on getting DMT to, take it at the end of a retreat lol.need to research it tho. But yes, I know enlightenment is the only thing that matters, it's the only thing that has ever mattered. I am a devote seeker of truth (seriously devoted) and I have never encountered something as potent and pure and this work. It is beyond words. I can't wait to get enlightened. Imma die eventually then BOOM enlightenment -
I know that this is apparently really advanced spiritual stuff we have going on here...but you'd think more people would be aware of it, apparently not. The vast majority of the "spiritual" people I've spoken with, are only interested in improving their life and helping others do so. That's good and all, but no1 is telling me how to get enlightened. Not even the Buddhist priest I asked. And when I asked a few reuglars around the temple if they'd ever experienced a spiritual awakening or insight they kind of laughed as if I just cracked a joke. Now, I do live in Northern Ireland...and it's a lot smaller than usual countries. But I'm searching for spiritual groups...i guess what I'm asking is: what are we. What do I search on Google to search for lectures on the topics discussed on this site?...I've tried Buddhists, hare chrishna's (mad cunts), Christians, "spiritualists"/holistic teachers, yoga places...none Does anyone else find this or is it just me??

Aaron p replied to LoveandPurpose's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@LoveandPurpose do not try to get rid of fear, fully allow the experience of fear to take place. Do not try to develop yourself or strengthen anything. Fully embrace fear and ask "who is the one who observes this?" And look at your direct experience and for whatever you locate that you think is "you" just ask "is this being observed?" If the answer is yes who is the one observing it? You are the observer, but even the idea that you are the observer, is being observed is it not? This is where you really need to get good at noticing when your looking at an idea (one trick, everything is an idea...including what you will have in your head as a result of what I'm saying right now so don't believe me AT ALL) Do not "try not to identify" with anything. Who is the one who is observing the person who wants to disassociate himself with certain ideas? You'll notice, that even the ideas of your own existence (i.e. what you are) are being observed to! You must come to the realisation that you are the unspeakable observer. As soon as you create the idea that you are the observer, you are observing this idea. So be careful, the only true way to becoming aware of the observer is the observation itself....and no ideas about it -
Aaron p replied to phllip103's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@phllip103 shaking doesent sound very good...even though you shouldnt really have an idea about what meditation is...sometimes bringing your body to a standstill and just forceing yourself to do so can be most helpful. Eventually you can start combining SDS (strong determination sits/where you don't move for anything for as long as you can) however I wouldn't worry about introduceing extra things like this yet. Just do self enquiry and be creative, if your leg is shaking then just stop it. It can't shake without your permission unless you have bloody Parkinson's or some shit -
Aaron p replied to phllip103's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@phllip103 ok so if your looking into enlightenment, "do nothing" will not raise your consciousness anywhere near as fast as self enquiry. Fuck the do nothing technique. Do self enquiry. Not only does this work faster, I find (the more still I am during *this* technique) I go into a trance and forget that my leg is numb and my back is sore. I don't even know about it. So self enquiry (for enlightenment/raising of consciousness) is much more advantageous for you. Breath meditation and "do nothing" perform as helpful supliments for your self enquiry, but should not be regarded as the primary practise. You'll not get enlightened. You need to EXCAVATE yourself (the person you think you are) and remove the false beliefs of your identity. ***There is no teaching, there is no teacher, there is no student. The only reason you are here if to find out *WHO YOU ARE* *** (Also: you can't be stuck, who is the one who is observing the 'stuckness'? You have to find certain ways of asking yourself who/what/where you are. For example, it might be easier to word it like this "if my heart was removed and replaced with a different heart, would my existence also be removed and replaced with a new existence? [Observe the direct experience and return to the natural sense that of "I exist"]. Or another way you could word your questions could be "if my happiness were to fade away, would my existence also fade away?" Using different phraseology for different parts of "you" can be very helpful) Remember...no teaching, just find out who you are. Anything more than this is wrong -
Aaron p replied to isabel's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
1. I think what your asking here is what I refer to as "spiritual knowledge." When you are operating at the most basic levels of your own existence (i.e the experiential sense of just "being") you can use logic to determine that you are not that which you observe. The reason you need to use this "anti-knowledge" (so to speak) is because the observer cannot be observed. (A knife cannot cut itself, a fire cannot burn itself). Therefore you can acquire this negative-knowledge that I call spiritual knowledge. However this kind of knowledge is both the most necessary and the most dangerous. It's the most dangerous because it's so tempting to believe. Even though you know the answers to the question you ask yourself within self enquiry, you must allow your mind to answer with whatever it feels like. When your mind takes a snapshot/memory of the truth, you no longer have the truth...you have you memory of the truth. 2. You cannot look at awareness and you cannot find awareness. You need to constantly revert back to the direct experience (always in the now), the *feeling* of being. That's your grounding. How you know your awareness is is seperate to your mind is by process of elimination. A typical enquiry into the mind (for me) goes like this: "What am I?" "I am mind." "What part of my mind is me?" "All of it." "Ok well let's pinpoint different parts then. Give me one part." "The memory." "If my memory, as a whole, were to fade away...would my existence also fade away?" [Observe the present experience of being] "No, i would remain here." "Therefore am I the memory?" "No." ... And this is what you do, you'll eventually realise (subconsciously) that your not your mind or body and that's enlightenment. 3. There's lots of ways you could shoot this question. And lots of ways you could answer it. You mind (ideologies) wrap around reality in real time, which means everything you look at in the present moment is tainted with false ideologies and it feels real. Also outside of the present moment, all you have is memories. Which arent reality either. But then you enquire into your own self to discover that your mind, body and whole existence is all being observed by you. There is nothing that exists other than consciousness. But it's important that you do not lean onto what I am saying as a belief during your spiritual practises. 4. Overcome the mind. But you do not overcome the mind by trying to overcome the mind ("trying" to overcome the mind, IS STILL THE MIND) The only thing you need to concern yourself with is "who are you". Work on making sure your technique is perfect and you'll be on your way to death/enlightenment in no time. -
Aaron p replied to isabel's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@isabel "if everything is in the mind how do you go beyond your mind?" Right...you need to be really clever when your looking into questions about enlightenment and such. For example you cannot believe that everything is a belief, because that itself is a belief. Be careful to make sure you don't believe anything anyone here says (that will be the biggest rut you'll get stuck in.) You are not meant to try to "go beyond your mind." It took me ages to get this down, super confusing at first. But just trust it. The ONLY kind of questions that will be beneficial for you (the real you) to ask are self enquiry questions in the present moment each time. The whole idea is that you are that which does not change. Which is logical. If your shirt is removed, is your existence also removed? No. You are still there, even though your shirt is not there...therefore your shirt is not "You." It's that simple. And that's it! Anything more and your going off track. It's very tempting to *try* to attain the results of meditation because of how expansive and effective the results are. But DO NOT seek the results of enlightenment or meditation. ONLY enquire into *who* it is that desires the results. "There is no teaching, no teacher, no pupil. You are only here to find out who you are." - Papaji If you do anything more than this, you will find yourself moving off track. The kinds of questions your asking can be insighful but theyre not to do with enlightenment. -

Aaron p replied to Greg O's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Greg O i don't know about you, but when enlightenment takes place within me I'm Gona be using my spiritual wisdom as much as possible to help people. However this is not my goal, enlightenment is my goal. Nothing else. I think it would be better to see this story for its principles, as opposed to its literal content (like you would do with the Bible as a spiritual seeker). Don't worry about what happens after enlightenment, I have no doubt both of our expectations for enlightenment will be CATASTROPHICALLY underestimated. From my glimpses, it's not just good....it's not just bliss, it's like...the concept of "bliss" shits itself at the raw presence of god...to literally BE God with a capital G. I've said it before, what we are doing here is rather literally, creating prophets of God. You will know what you need to do when you are enlightened. -

Aaron p replied to F A B's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Sounds like a good definition to me. But this won't get you enlightened, probably better asking "who is the one who desires to understand integrity." And who is the one who observed the answer to that question? The reason I am so strict (with myself also) is because we very easily drift from the purity of the simple aim of meditation and enlightenment and start focusing on menial things. We are, after all, in an enlightenment/meditation thread. Use everything to your advantage. everything that isint bring enlightenment is pushing it away, and enlightenment is the only thing that matters. Without enlightenment, everything else is false.
