Hello everyone, Just wanted to put it out there that in Leo's video on awareness he says we do not always have awareness and in Mingyur Rinpoche's video on awareness he says the awareness is always there whether we know it or not. Is one correct and the other wrong or are they referring to different things? these are my sources , pluto8

Oh btw, what you said about, knowing what is being pointed it, is quite interesting too, mb a little perplexing. Almost like a paradox or somethin... Or you just mean, what is being pointed? IT! -

I don't remember you saying there is a difference between knowing awareness and having awareness. Something like that at least. I was beginning to wonder if it was a context/terminology thing..... In your video, once I got further through it you said that we are probably at a level 1-3 awareness right now out of 10 million. I find it quite perplexing that it can exist all the time and not exist at all. Technically though, YOU COULD SAY whatever the ehck you WANT to say hahaha....... Anyways, ummm, I'll check the video on consciousness, I know you were getting into consciousness a bit in the awareness vid. My thought of the day(well, I thought III thought it before..) is that across the big picture of things, like just all this stuff in general, seems like there is some putting of pieces together ya know Anyways, thanks for taking the time to response Leo, and everyone else too. I hope it's not to silly of a question hahaha -

When Leo made his video, I wonder how much of the information he provided was learned from other sources and how much was his own discovery. I guess that kind of goes for all the videos. Obviously he would have grown over time....so the more recent the video is the more input he can provide right? I guess that would depend on the topic as well...... whoooo freakin knows hha this type of shit though, w/ one person saying this and the other person saying something else is starting to get old.....especially since some topics have more than just two people claiming to be right. -
Title explains it all. Have at it folks If I must elaborate though, here are some of my thoughts: I am basically wondering if it is best to become happy with no stimulation, rather than needing stimulation.........maybe once you are ok without stimulation like for the rest of your life, you can slowly(mb very slowly) bring in stimulation....know what I mean? Of course, this wondering stems from stimulation in relation to happiness. We watch movies, we play video games, drink, smoke, go for walks, hang out with friends, go rock climbing or skiing or ATVing or tubing or sailing or...ya you get the point. Basically anything in life that we do for fun or to create happiness. Even just relaxin lol..... A lot of the time though, obviously, we are not doing those things and we may get bored or something. Anybody ever get bored at work? Anybody ever wished their shift was over? If we just completely cut out all sources of stimulation/fun/happiness is it possible to acclimate to that lifestyle? If we could acclimate to that lifestyle, would it be a tolerable suffer or a positive bliss/relaxed state or would we still be riding some sort of roller coast? If it was a tolerable suffer, would it be enough of a trade off to commit to the lifestyle. Are any of the options a good trade off compared to the typical lifestyle? I hope people don't take this the wrong way haha !

I would really love to hear your response actually. I have spent many hours listening to people talk on youtube about various topics like this and I have listened to Tolle talk about the now. I have glimpsed into the Be Here Now book and I get the message, but it doesn't make sense to me. It's like it's just EXTREMELY obvious, like so obvious that I couldn't possibly imagine why it is so important and what the big deal is lol. Like all these books and people on youtube for what, just to tell me that this moment right now is the moment right now and that right now we are in the now!!!!!!!! no way. I literally almost feel like I have been falling for some sort of joke.
-
@pluto How is it that we are not always in the present moment??? Is that some sort of joke lol? Like some sort of super deeep joke? So deep that it can actually be presented as a teaching because you have to learn about it before you can "get the joke"......? haha

Just so everyone knows and LEO, I am from Saint Petersburg, FL, so right near Tampa, not too far from Orlando. I would love attend! EDIT: Based off of meetup.com I can tell you @Leo Gura that there is definitely a handful of like minded people literally right in my vicinity. There was this place I went to around Christmas that wasn't very far away, called the Village Mystic. It is a crystal/metaphysical/of the types type of store. This shaman was putting on a talk that day and there was a good lil bunch of people inside...... at least 10-15.... he does little things like that multiple times each month. Amongst the surrounding area/s there is definitely our fair share of shops like that..... Oh and there seems to be quite a UFO community, for whatever that is worth lol. They are truth seekers right lol? The FL MUFON group has hundreds of people....... There's a group on meetup.com called the Tampa Bay Thinkers.... Everything else/people/groups is basically what you would have thought of when I original said "like minded people" in the above paragraph. I can't come up with everything right now, but there's a bunch out there....... I can help get the word out a bit, but not a LOT haha I just recently moved here from Hudson, FL and before Hudson, FL I was in Maine.
-
I was also surprised at the numbers. I figured they would be higher, but I think I understand where Leo is coming from.

Technically, if the trade off is better, then yes, but I really have no clue if it is and the point of this post was to not cut off happiness. It has to do with the roller coaster, ya know? Like with stimulation and work n whatnot......... Did I explain myself properly in the initial post? If you don't know exactly what I am talking about then probs not, or mb ur crazy hahahahah. and yes I know, I should already know if you know exactly what I was talking about because you just asked a question about the post so the chances are that you do not know exactly what I was talking about, BUT WHAT IF you did and that question was coming from a state of just making 100% sure that we are on the same page. That is possible, but I highly doubt it. So let this be our relationship foundation so we can better understand each other. If you really were that far out (in your comment), let me know now haha. Oh, and prove it. The reason why I doubt it is because you said "Let us know how that works out for you." Cheers

O, ummm, in the very beginning I had said that the thinking went back weeks, but I just want to clarify that most of what is in this post was thought up within the last few minutes...... like the fact that there may actually be a decision there between the two sides. In the past I had thought about the "keeping something in mind all the time" thing quite a bit because of meditation and all, and the other thing, on the fly thing, is just some thing that I have briefly thought about here and there I suppose for reasons that I can not explain right now. At least right now......haha So ya -
Hello, Ok so this may all be a little weird at first, but there has actually been a great deal of thinking over the last who knows how many weeks, on this subject and maybe the ideas and thinking and whatnot goes back further than weeks, who knows........lemmi get to the topic here...... Like I said this may sound weird, but take it seriously ok. I have reached a decision that has to do with "constantly like keeping something in mind" or just reacting on the fly. Like if I had to choose between the two, which one would it be. and, yes I know, for a little while "reacting on the fly" would be on my mind or being "kept in mind".........but I think eventually that would turn into something that I end up reacting upon on the fly once I have it in my memory. Also, by a little while, I don't really know how long exactly, it doesn't really matter to be honest, but probably something like minutes......... If anybody wants a hint as to what I may be on to here, here is a hint: Something that you could always keep in mind would be focusing on your breath, and I mean like 24/7. Ok, well this next hint type of thing is trickier alright. I want you to think about your memory ok. If I were to ask you, when were you born, the date would come to your mind, but it is not ALWAYS there. If you go and watch the new mission impossible movie, you will forget about the date of birth. Not literally, like forever, but until somebody asks you when you were born again, ya know? Ok now I know that was a little bit trickier, but it is going to get even trickier. Reacting on the fly can take many different forms. Now, I will be honest with you, I started writing a couple of different examples, but I deleted them because I feel like it is better to just leave it like this so you guys can use your own imaginations. I mean, idk, just imagine all the things throughout your life that you have to react on the fly towards. So once again, I am going to propose to competition between, whether it is better to react on the fly, or keep something in mind at all times, such as breath focus. Ok, now think about the times in your life that you have to react on the fly. It could literally be anything. Even the question, what is your date of birth? Does help at all? I think it should, because when you are asked that question you have to react and your brain spits out a response. So once again, is it better to live life by reacting on the fly, or by focusing on your breath at all times? I just realized something! It may not actually be best to explain this in words.....maybe it is. I really don't know. Maybe it is best to "react on the fly" or focus on the breath. If it is, then fuck it, I guess I'll still post this since I dont really know the answer right? idk, just so everyone knows, I am kind of searching for a life long like answer in a way. Like something to live by. And so I guess I kind of came down to something that I literally live by alllllllllll the time, OR something such as, just react on the fly and figure out scene by scene, moment by moment, problem by problem.........

What sort of experience/background does the person(on this forum) answering that question have? Also I just want to add, that the idea of a golden key is just a metaphor. Or a name. Who knows what the implications are. Or who knows what the implications of the key are. hmm..... The idea of a golden key is more complicated than meets the eye. -
pluto8 replied to Hardik jain's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
So all in all there is no golden key to the universe and these gurus and probs terence as well, n alan watts lol have not tapped into it? -
pluto8 replied to Hardik jain's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
So why do they say anything at all? You can go on youtube. THere are videos with sadhguru, books from Osho, satsangs with Mooji, talks/books with Terence Mckenna. See, terence mckenna on the other hand tho says nobody knows anything, but I think he maay be saying that in reference to religions. I'd have to double check. He says like, these people, they think they know a little something, these people a little something...non-sense, nOObody knows anything lol. to think that one man will lead us to the truth and save humanity or something is ludicrous. that's not actually what he said, but i think you get the point. lol. -
pluto8 replied to Hardik jain's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Kinda reminds be about religions lol. The part where I said all these sources are pointing to the same thing, but in different ways. Ya, that reminds me of religion. All these different religions thinking THEY are right. -

The science behind binaural beats can be found with a simple google search. When it comes to all the different frequencies and stuff, yaaaa Idrk. There's so much random stuff I don't really know if I should trust it. -
pluto8 replied to Hardik jain's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I feel like it is a kinda confusing thing in general. It's seems like my seeking is leading to a desire to find a certain golden key type thing but I feel like that is because some of the masters sound like they are claiming that certain things are like a golden key. Then there is the fact that some things are just confusing anyways like not thinking about not thinking or being aware that your are aware. Osho claims to have nailed things down. Mooji seems like he claims to have nailed it down. Other sources sound like they think they have nailed it down. Soooo what I seem to think about all this is that all these sources are referring to the same thing, but describing it in different ways. lol..THese thoughts are pretty dam hard for me to describe so I wouldn't take it 100%, but not quite with just a lil grainy of salt either lol. -

Publics probs a no for me. I have tried mushrooms and when I was in situation that generated anxiety or awkwardness or something it literally killed the trip, like gone. At least 90% gone. The only other thing I can add to that is being a little bit worried at how strong it will be. It's interesting stuff, just going by myself to wash away the tensions helped, but it was near the end soooooooo. -
Based off of my research, these seem to be two of the main veins of meditation. When properly watching the watcher or being aware that you are aware does it basically become the same thing as doing nothing because, based off my research it kinda seems like the two are of the same vein? Or like, one will be claimed as the answer, but the other will also be claimed as the answer. Both of em are pretty confusing lol. I have not even begun to figure out how to do nothing. Almost seems like you should not even try. O ya quick question, is there a difference between "watching the watcher" and "being aware that you are aware"? Thanks for reading everyone, -Ray

Is being able to watch the watcher(or be aware of it) something that takes a lot of mediation to be able to do or figure out? Once figured out or able to be done, are there immediate results? Or will an investment of significant time still be required? Umm, purerogue, I was actually in the middle of typing this when I got the notification that you had responded to the post. So this is not a response to your post lol.
