I noticed that the self will try and take control. The self seems to try and control its way out of dissatisfaction which causes dissatisfaction. A subtle form of resistance. -

The self seems to be fixed to identify in some way or another. The self will disidentify with thought Then turn around and identify with its “true nature”. The self doesn’t seem to notice this fixed pattern and how it will systematically recreate an identity for itself. It seems that if there is identifying of any kind then that is still a movement time continuity(divison). -

We can keep it simple and say in the presence of a self imposed image there is no love. The image implies isolation/attachment/resistance/fear/reaction. Love cannot be with such conditioned movement self. -

Fosho..the beginning of pleasure. Identification with past experience and we want such experiences again and again to self soothe. Without that sensation being re-experienced there is insecurity(feeling of impermanence) which can be associated with loneliness/empty feeling. We want that pleasure to fulfill that emptiness. Which is what feeds that same process of dependence/attachment/identification (Reaction). -

To keep it simple we may want to look at this as a psychological issue(reaction-emotional/thought) response to what is the case(loneliness/isolation). There is the craving of or for food related to sensation which involves thought. And the resistance to boredom/restless as well. This involves very much psychological time. I’m not sure if you have heard of that though. -

Cool thread @cetus56 Using time to refer to itself? I brought this topic of time/self up to my parents. They called me a psycho, asked me what I was on. -

Nice share dude. I always intuitively saw something in breathing in such ways to bring about chemical changes to the body. Which definitely will alter consciousness in some way or another. -

The self is not free because it implicitly makes freedom determinant on conditions. The self that depends on these conditions(paths/means) is not separate from those means/paths. The self drives it’s own continuity(divison/suffering) by separating itself from those means/paths. The Divison between me and the means I will apply to achieve, sustains the continuity of self/conflict/suffering. Most excellent to see the whole of this dudes. -

The self inherently by its structure is not fond of this action of self observation. The self will tend to see itself according to its bais/prejudice(thought). Which is why it clings to certain paths/means. -

Understanding/holistic insight/choiceless observation...to see what is/the fact. ? -
Jack River replied to Tony 845's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
One may see that the two steps forward one step back is the very illusion that sustains divison/suffering. The self seems very fond of cultivating a means/path to freedom. The self avoids itself by clinging to a means/way/ or paths that have been passed down through tradition/culture(thought). The self doesn’t see that the only path it needs it “it” itself. The self is the path. Freedom is found in what is, not what has been and what should be(thought/time). -
Jack River replied to Tony 845's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Fosho. As the cultivation of conflict/time inherently can not lead to freedom. -

Fosho dude. That seems to be the selfs job/role. -

This message is perhaps for the few. As I have noticed resistance is the path for the majority. Pretty gnarly and unnecessary. -

We resist until we don’t. We walk some sort of path or another even prior to seeking for truth. The path is the self(a continuity of time/thought). The entity that walks “its” choosen path fixes its destination/goal. This destination is then a castle made of ashes(the past). The i that wants to arrive, the chosen path, the strategic means applied, all one movement of time/divided action. Intelligence born of holistic insight sees the whole of this. Therefore is born complete action. Can a divided action end time? Or does it take an infinite action? An action that is not a two step process.. -

The me that wants to arive and the means that I want to apply to achieve are ultimately what stands in the way. A path leads to dead things, ashes of the past. -

Matter can effect thought/psyhe and thought/psyche can effect matter to a degree. I feel ya. -

I would say there is a psychological component to diabetes. Identification with certain experiences/sensations like excessive sugar consumption, then we seek those experiences/sensations again and again and pleasure is born and so is the possibility of diabetes. -
First sorry dude. We feel ya. What if the past and the present are the same movement of thought only there is an “apparent” seperation between the experiencer(present) and the experienced (the past) which brings about the conflict?

Frequently occurring thoughts I come across when trying to be in the present?? Trying to be (becoming) is a movement of thought. Anytime we are in this process of becoming(moving away from what is to what should be) that is itself a movement of past/present/future(self-thought). Its a reactionary movement that arises from still acting as a divided entity distinct from its wantings.
