My favorite is The Most Essential Spiritual Question. It works! Namaste!

As Matt Kahn would say, Truth is besides the point. One breaks the cycle of victimhood one thank you at a time.

The reason The Untethered Soul gives you an "aha",moment is how he introduces you to the concept of the Silent Witness. From there it builds and builds until you realize that you are not the body or mind, but the Silent Witness of body in mind. This signifies a step up from ordinary waking consciousness into Soul Consciousness and even one step beyond into Witness Consciousness. In vedic traditions there are seven states of consciousness. Initially one goes from identifying with body and mind as the I, (ego) and then the transcendence into higher states. What's the one thing in your life that has NEVER changed?

@Orange they may possess the neural substrates and are certainly conscious beings....but smart is misleading. Compare cerebrums vs body mass and the picture clarifies.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Yes, absolutely. Its called integration of the Ego with Spirit.

One can do mindfullness of breathing meditation to quiet the mind. It brings you closer to pure awareness, ones True Self. In addition to this...(drum roll please), its FREE!! -
@Barna Believe me I would love to try 5-meo-dmt, but currently I don't have the resources to travel to the southeastern u.s. to acquire it. I had an out of body using salvia divinorum 60x extract, but one needs a sitter while tripping.

Ramu replied to Samuel Garcia's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Samuel Garcia you die but other peoples lives go on. But Samuel, how do you know that other peoples lives go on. You're missing the point of the video. Leo is talking about direct experience. After your physical death, would you have direct experience of others lives continuing? -

@Ape why's that, Ape? -
@brovakhiin Thank you!

Hi: This is in response to the Zen Devil topic. Leo, don't you think anyone who's intentions are correct on this path will know this hazard? I was reading Adyashanti when I had to throw it out the window. Why? Because Zen or not, when you write a book and say that "you haven't become enlightened, enlightenment has become enlightened...". Give me a break. Yes Ashanti, we know that, but for language sake its OK to use personal pronouns! Stop being esoteric ad naseum. I get it OK I get. His writing is a classic case of ego unchecked. Those like me GET IT. Relax a little and let us absorb a little. By writing in that style, it makes me want to bang my head against a wall. Writing should be for clarity, not for showing us how advanced you are compared to your mere pedestrian followers. Its arrogance that's driving me up the wall. Listen to Matt Kahn and Whatever Arises Love That. He's not arrogant yet gets his message across without annoying his following!

@WaveInTheOcean but you are Nothing. Out of Nothing is Everything. That's it. Conversation over. When you Get It. That's It. I am Source. As Alan Watts once quoted, when You Get The Message hang up the phone. -
Awareness is not the same as thinking. The awareness is Your True Self. Thoughts come out of the void.
-
Even when you realize that there is no point to life, its definitely worth living. You are Source just expressing itself. Enjoy the wild ride you put yourself on!

@Dodoster on a more practical level we all more or less have to function as an ego to get around in the world and function. Even if you know its illusion, an infinitesimal number of people dont know.

@Bebop for me the experience of nothing ness came from thc. It happened in a flash, too. BOOM!! I realized that my body was a mere projection and I WAS the whole show. I understood that the only thing that existed was right in front of me. For example....this weirded me out....I was watching people outside on a bench waiting for my friend. It dawned on me that as people walked out of my view they were entering the void. I could still hear them, as the voices became something out of nothing...the Void.

Marijuana and Salvia Divinorum (very dangerous yet legal in most US states), are two substances ive used to awaken. Very effective if used for self inquiry. Poorly used, especially for recreational use and not spiritual is dangerous.
-
@Bebop what the pointing exercise really helps you to understand is that you are nothingness. Pure awareness. The world comes out of you. The events coming out of the No Thing are manifested by you through intention, good or bad. The body is a projection of consciousness. Kind of hard to explain. Leo is right. Direct experience is the only way to self realize through self inquiry.
-
It makes sense for me if I understand the basic idea that out of nothingness comes everthing, (the Universe). There is really only Source. Source is the container (emptiness), that everything (the Universe) is contained in. Source could also be called consciousness. There is only one consciousness and you're it. Through conditioning you've been brought up to identify with your body and mind as the "you" that you think you are. Point to an object, any object in the background. Now point back to your face. Do you see a face? Of course not. You will see emptiness, the pure conscious awareness which is your true being. A better word would be nothingness. Nothing-ness. You are not a thing, but No Thing. Thoughts and perceptions come out of nothingness aka the void and become something when they go into you. If you think you are in a room....turn it around...the room is in you. Sit down and point to different parts of your body. Next point to your head. Nothingness is what you are pointing to. Its the best way to see your True Being (Brahman).

Ramu replied to 30secs's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@WelcometoReality although what you can do is explain it enough so that it steers people in the right direction. One however need not be so esoteric as a zen master to such a degree that you start foaming at the mouth with clever psychobabble. That crap is mere spiritual ego. -
Ramu replied to 30secs's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Its like I was telling other people on this site about my experience with salvia (that no one commented on because no one can grasp the concept), I had an out of body experience where I had direct experience of being pure spirit...aka god..aka presence...but spirit IN the body is experienced the same way...as pure in the now presence. You can read a million books and attempt to understand it from an intellectual point of view, but one will never really "get it",unless they've had direct experience. That's the real message Leo is trying to deliver in his enlightenment and psychedelic episodes. -

Once again, fear raises its ugly head. -

@Leo Gura Ever tried Salvia? It gave me an out of body experience and definitely a sense of ego death. An experience of pure aware spirit. Now the DEA is planning to ban it, and why not? It occurs naturally and is legal and a psychedelic. If they make it illegal it will be joyfully hard to obtain and we'll all have to go to the Yucatan to obtain it like 5 meo. Yes, I am being sarcastic. Along the lines of the DEA's thinking, its a MIRACLE alcohol ever became legal again. -
So being that most if not all psychedelics are illegal, I thought I would experiment with Salvia. I tried Purple Sticky Salvia 60x extract. This did give me an experience of no self via an out of body experience. The first puff was light and I had no breakthrough but on the second I torched the hell out of the pipe and away I went. I felt a tremendous pull on my body down and to my left. Also, it felt as if my spirit had to "fold" its way out of the corporeal. The experience was one of bright awake awareness. I also heard a woman's voice encouraging me to make it out all the way. Make sure you have a sitter for this experience, as you do not control motor function. Something to consider if one cannot afford a trip to mexico to smoke cost prohibitive 5 meo DMT.
