You could explain the 7 stages of consciousness from the perspective of Vedanta. The most important one: witness consciousness. Where one goes from identifying as body and mind, to being the WITNESS of body and mind. Probably the greatest breakthrough one can have without psychedelics that accelerates you through to complete enlightenment.

@Joseph Maynor im not sure why we "forgot" why and how the Divine wanted to manifest as a "me" character. I've spent my entire life wondering why the heck I'm even here. I can only suspect its because the Divine wanted form, and wanted to know emotion. Possibly just to experience and witness itself from this vantage point. Regardless, I'm still enthralled by being a part of it, and yet be the whole show. Its mind blowing, isn't it??

@Joseph Maynor Atman could be described as ego, the little self. My little self is different from yours. It must be, because the Atman is individual and perceives the world as me/not me. Brahman is the True Self. Not just the wave but the entire ocean. That's how we're one. There is only One. I am that One. You are that One. Its in this illusion of Ego that you perceive to be different. God wants to be Joseph Maynor. He also wants to be Eric, (me). It wouldn't be an Infinite Being if there wasn't a Joseph or Eric. It would be missing something, and therefore wouldn't be infinite.

I love how a candidate for the US Senate can assault a reporter one day, and despite this witnessed and DESPICABLE behavior, he's elected anyway. People!! Come on!! He should be in the slammer, not on his way to Washington! Its amazing what people will pardon and condone, no matter how criminal. Maybe he's a Trump admirer. Didn't he just shove some head of state out of the way recently? Hey boys and girls: this is unacceptable behavior for ANYONE, never mind someone in public office! Very disturbing to say the least!!

@Shin Shin, that's wonderful! The concept of no self is what helped me the most, especially from headless.org. When you point to where you "think" your head is, you're pointing to Source or Capacity for All. When you point out from where Source is, you see the Universe that is You.
