  1. @lmfao Yes definitly I can't do more than 5 minutes without at least swallow a bit of saliva for now @OmniYoga I would say gradually, especially if you can increase by 5 minutes each time it's not gonna take long for it to pass 30min Breathing I woul say deep/normal and pace normal, but with no pause between inhale and exhale, definitly not as fast as possible, leo talks about those 2 in the video
  2. Just get over it and do it anyways! Doesn't matter worst case you look a bit dumb for no reason doing a weird exercice and that's it it's such a small detail
  3. @billiesimon check ennio nimis book it's free on PDF and great for practice http://www.kriyayogainfo.net/Eng_Downloads1.html First part is his history kind of (no need to read if you're not interested) Second part is the description of the techniques Third part is how you should go about it and a good practice routine
  4. @winterknight Wow i really got something when you said that instead of inquiring on the I feeling one could also "drop thoughts" I did juste a bit of self inquiry a few months ago, got some glimses of the I feeling in the begining but fast wasn't able to self-inquire well becasue my mind was not focused enough (I think) Although I feel like I can relatively well "drop thoughts" (for a brief moment at least, depending on how active is my mind) by just puting will on it, it's kind of weird like i'm pressing a switch mentally, and even not really like that, kind of feel more like dropping something mentally Besides that, I feel like overall in all my meditation practices (I do vipassana meditation and kriya yoga mainly now), the point that is always holding me back or hurting my progress/result is that I have trouble staying focus to a decent level, so for example if I would sit for 1 hour and meditate (in any way), less than half of that time would be let's say half-focused on the 'practice' , meaning not just lost in thoughts, and in that 50% of the one hour, also less than half or a quarter of the time would be actually fully focused (not just half focused) on the 'practice' What do you think about that and how you think I should go about it ?
  5. What's your thoughts on that app ? Is it likely that it helps having a better sleep quality ? Also i'm worried about one thing, it's that to use it we have to let the phone under our pillow so the phone will stay next to our head for the whole night, I don't know if it might have negative effects ?
  6. It's quite interesting yea thanks I'm wondering about going back to self-hypnosis now, could be used also to improve meditation practice to get a more focused mind for example or whatever (or literealy to improve anything at all in any domain nearly)
  7. @Genghis Khan @Aakash Would you say it's pretty close to self-hypnosis / self-suggestion then ?
  8. @MM1988 For me I have no problems in tongue muscle with baby kechari (after a few weeks/months of stretching exercices), but my throat (upper throat maybe, the part that relies mouth and troat basically) gets super dry and there's a quite intense unpleasant/disturbing sensation comming from that after a min or a few minutes
  9. Don't know the answer neither But when people talk about the danger/negative effects of hyperventilation, are they not talking about some continious subtle hyperventilation, due to poor breathing 'skills' ? Which is maybe quite different than the hyperventilation in WH method or holotropic breathwork where it's just for a limited period of time and then the standard breathing would be normal / 'correct' 99% of the time the rest of the day
  10. Ok thanks, that's what i thought Also interesting that you say that for the normal breathing it should be with as litle movement as possible, I was not really doing it like that, when trying to exercice myself breathing from the belly (with the breathing exercice you describe in your first post), i was trying to mark the movement of the belly, overdoing it even So it's way better to breath from the belly but actually still without having a big movement of the belly (which seems more natural yea) ?
  11. Just had a big insight about that reading this thread : Before when I tried to breath more slowly, I was trying to breath more/harder which didn't work that well because it was full fast Now I see how actually breathing less and training to train the time where we can stay in "air hunger" might be so much better, I'll try it like this now I'm gonna put 5 minutes of breathing exercice as in the thread above just before my kryia session, I feel like it's gonna help a lot @now is forever Ok I didn't really picture correctly how it was cleaning with a neti pot, i check this video and now I understand better, it's completly different from what i'm doing now with my little sprays indeed So I'm just gonna order a neti pot and make my own salt water yea
  12. Really nice thread thanks @InfinitePotential For the horizontal/diaphragm breathing, when I do it it feels like breathing only by expending the belly is not enough (although it probably is enough, or just not trained enough yet), and then after my belly is kind of full my breath switches to the chest to finish, is it incorect, and I should just breath only through the belly and not finish with the chest ?
  13. So i followed my words and tried it again a few days ago, and i've been doing one small session per day since then and will follow on that pace I've been doing really small or mini session to ease my way into it and make it more comfortable though, what i did was just lie down and do at first just 2 minutes, I can already feel a lot of sensation (vibrating / tickling) after that, then observe the sensations for a few minutes, then again 1-a few minutes of breathing, then observe, and like this for one hour It's way more easy to do and bring less resistance that way, and the effects are still great, I can feel a lot of sensations popping up, and my awareness / focus is increased a lot just after a few minutes of breathing, which gives me a really good meditaiton in that hour
  14. Yea I was thinking obviously about Amsterdam Would you say that Pai is as safe as an option as doing it in Europe/Australia/Us for example ? In terms of Police
  15. So i'm living mainly in Asia (I work online so I always move), and here it's not as open as in the west for drugs (more for prostitution though), as an extreme example if you sell drugs even just weed in the philipinnes you would get ... death penalty I really want to try psychedelics but i've always been scared/careful to do it here, I don't want to risk (even if it's a realtively small chance) a huge fine or maybe even few years of prison for that So do you guys know a country/city/place around Asia were it would be relatively safe to get and try psychedelics ?
  16. What if them having a lot of meaningless sex was not the cause of the girls being attracted to them but the result ?
  17. Thanks, yea i'm thinking as well that really better be safe than sorry in that case I was in thailand just before actually and close to Pai, I knew people take mushrooms a lot there, but still is it low to 0 risks to get caught by police and in big troubles ? They just let it happen there or still have to be extra careful ?
  18. @now is forever Ok thanks, I followed @nistake adviced and just checked at some drugstore and actually found something that seems to be that, it says it's an "isotonic filtered sea water solution, 100% natural", bingo ? Although it's a spray, and I tried it a few times and I barely see any difference, I don't know if I use it properly though, I spray it standing so it mostly just falls down, althought it seems like it's supposed to be like that, they say to spray for a few seconds and let the excess run out, then blow nose @oysterman Ok thanks, seems quite different than what I have know since my solution just get sprays in one nostril and some part falls out and some part remain in the nostril i guess I actually had the same thought about the 'neti ... neti neti ?' pots
  19. Isn't the weight change in the end just calories in - calories out ? In which it's a bit more complex because some different food will have different effects on the metabolism, but that's just counted in calories out then So the 2nd sentence would just be counted in a change of calories out
  20. There's defenitly benefits, but if your goal is to gain muscle/weight and you have already a fast metabolism / strugugling to gain weight (like me), there's definitly a big downside to intermitent fasting as it's just harder to get x calories in 8 hours than in 15 hours So if you're sometimes strugling to reach your daily calories goal i'll say that's maybe not the best idea, if you don't have that problem you can try there seems to be a lot of benefits
  21. @Cocolove @Ionaran Same i get a lot of resistance for that too, I do 2 hours meditation daily (kriya yoga and vipassana) and i have way more trouble/resistance doing 10-30 minutes of this, I did a few 10 minutes sessions like 6 months ago and just stopped after that, huge resistance The most apparant sign of resistance for me was huge discomfort in the throat due to the breathing I definitly think that it's the type of resistance that's indicating a really good thing that we don't want to do but would be so beneficial and should do, so I definitly want to get back to it, I'll start to experiment back with it in February for sure
  22. Okay i'll try the saltwater first then I can just make it homemade really easily by puting salt in (previously boiled i guess) water right ? and then take it with a pipette ? I might buy a pot if it's better, I found this that ship internationally https://www.iherb.com/pr/Himalayan-Institute-Ceramic-Neti-Pot-1-Pot/5968 If i can do it easily without having to order something that i can't find locally i'll rather do it that way, because i'm in jakarta now so i don't want to have to wait one or a few week for shipping, so if i can just handmade the salt water and take it with a pipette that i guess I can find locally in a drugstore or what that'll be best
  23. @Leo Gura @now is forever Thanks I'm gonna try nasya then (and try to put less aircon or block the "wind" with a jacket in front it usually works decently for me it still gets more cold but i get less sick) I found that after searching quickly, would be fine ? https://www.amazon.com/Sinus-Clarity-Nasya-Spray-Applicator/dp/B015AH59FS/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1548833381&sr=8-2&keywords=nasya I don't know if I have an infection or not though
  24. Why do you think it could fuck you up ?
