  1. @Leo Gura Yeah, it seems like they called that one too early. I'm hoping it stays blue though.
  2. @Leo Gura Just for clarification, are you saying you think Arizona will go to Trump, or do you think it's just a possibility?
  3. Holy shit! Georgia is close right now. Biden is behind by only about 3000 votes and all the last votes counted have been favoring him heavily. I can't believe this is actually happening, but I think Georgia might go to Biden.
  4. @Consept Yup, Trump has consistently been moving the Overton window to the right throughout his initial campaign and later his presidency, and now he can practically call for the election to end prematurely with millions of his supporters supporting him. It's actually interesting to note how much more "moderate" he seemed back in 2016. Since then, he has completely gone unhinged.
  5. @Hatfort It actually doesn't matter at this point. A Biden win is virtually guaranteed at this point whether they keep counting or not. Although, of course, they absolutely should keep counting. That's just common sense.
  6. That's basically his strategy. He is just grasping at straws at this point.
  7. @Consept Precisely! There have also been a number of protests where Trump supporters have demanded they stop counting in states where Trump is leading while other pro-Trump protests have demanded faster counting in states where he's losing. It's complete hypocrisy and a clear display of anti-democratic ideology. They don't care about fair elections the slightest.
  8. The funny thing is that even if they stopped counting right now, Biden would still win because he's ahead in Nevada, which is all he needs to win.
  9. @hoodrow trillson Not really. It's still too early to declare a winner.
  10. Here is my guess. It's mostly based on polling data, but I also made some intuitive judgements. We'll see how well it matches up on election day. https://www.270towin.com/maps/g1DW9 Ohio, Iowa and Georgia are the ones I'm really uncertain about. They could all swing either way pretty easily.
  11. @DocWatts To be fair, it may very well be the case that a lot of black people showed up to the event, but that the pictures with only white people were the only ones shared here. It's easy to take a few isolated photos and give off the wrong impression. But I'm being very charitable here. These are Trump supporters we're talking about, so it wouldn't shock me if most of the people attending these events were indeed white. I'd like to see some statistics on this if they exist.
  12. @Rilles This is a good point. I think a lot of people are forgetting just how much we actually force people to be cishet. When a boy and a girl kiss each other in a children's movie, it's cute, but when two boys kiss, it's seen as "inappropriate" or "forced" and as an attempt to shove homosexuality down people's throats. There is obviously a double standard here. I think it's important to let children discover their own authentic identities and to help them cultivate it in a healthy way instead of forcing any particular identity on them. Maybe they'll turn out cis or maybe trans. Either way is fine as long as they weren't pressured into it.
  13. @toocrazytobecrazy I believe he talked about this in his series on conscious politics, as well as some other videos of his, but I don't remember exactly which ones.
  14. It's really frustrating how dead-set some leftists are not to vote for Biden even though it means increasing the likelihood of another Trump term. They don't realize that what they're doing is only harming them and their movement. It reminds me of this meme: Not voting for Biden helps Trump.
  15. @Rilles Actually, I'm wondering if one really needs to be at stage green to accept the basic science of sex and gender. A scientifically minded, rational person (orange) shouldn't really be triggered by the fact that gender is a spectrum. Getting mad at science when it contradicts traditional world views seems like more of a stage blue thing. But I guess stage green people might be more readily accepting of the idea? I'm not really sure. I'd love to get some input from others on this.
  16. @Forestluv I don't doubt what you're saying, but where did you get that 8% figure? I would like to know so I could keep checking how it changes over the coming days.
  17. No surprises there. Of course Trump denies anything that makes him look bad.
  18. How big did you ever expect Actualized.org to get? Have you been surprised by how large your channel and organization has grown?
  19. I wish conservatives would simply take a few hours to familiarize themselves properly with the left's ideas so that they at least know what they're arguing against. Although, if they actually learned to understand what the left was trying to say, maybe they would then cease to be conservatives. I guess it serves one's agenda pretty well not to understand what your opponent's views are.
  20. @Lyubov Totally. If Trump could press a button to become a dictator for life, he would press that button instantly. He doesn't care one bit about democracy or free speech.
  21. Eric Porterfield is a living caricature of stage blue:
  22. @datamonster I was wondering the same thing. The website doesn't seem to have a consistent definition of democratic socialism.
  23. @Nak Khid Looks like this map only shows countries that have significant socialist parties. It doesn't actually seem to talk about the actual laws of those countries. Even so, the definition on the website is pretty vague. They say "Under Democratic socialism, the ownership of private property is limited.", but how limited does it have to be to be considered "democratic socialism"? Private property is certainly still a common thing in Norway for instance. I don't really think it's anywhere near as close to socialism as people seem to think it is (speaking as a Norwegian). I just feel like the website doesn't give us a clear enough definition for democratic socialism. It's hard to come up with a list of countries if the criteria aren't very clear. The website seems to just be talking about social democracy, which is quite different. I couldn't find this particular quote on their website, but you shared it in this thread earlier and it sums up my thoughts on the issue pretty well. The recent popularity of socialism in the states doesn't actually seem to have that much to do with traditional socialism, but rather social democracy. Maybe I'm just arguing over semantics here, but I don't like to conflate social democracy with socialism.
  24. @Nak Khid They are still not democratic socialist countries because they're not socialist. The proper term is social democratic as Leo pointed out. But semantics aside, how is the term defined for this map? Why is Norway considered a democratic socialist country, but not New Zealand for instance?
