Purple - any shamanic drumming, chanting, or instrumentals. Red - the vast majority of rap music today. Garbage. Literally close your eyes and pick a song on the top 40 list, and it's bound to have red influences. Popular music is probably the lowest dragging influence in our culture right now. Our politics and economics and businesses are orange, starting to move into green, and yet our music is basically 3rd world country, Africa levels of development. Sad. Blue - gospel music. Country music. Orange - modern pop. Some classic and modern rock. Rap. Again, the majority of music out there is red/orange, so it's not worth it to recommend a song. This is where streamlined, 3 minute songs with the same chord structure started permeating culture. No soul. "Easy listening." Stuff like that. Green - "Three Little Birds" Bob Marley. Lyrical content about love, community, and perhaps drugs. Music wise, a return to natural instruments (although electronic music is also big in green), just not heavily processed and trite. Yellow - now this is interesting, I actually think most classical music was written by genius masters (because they had to be), and as a pianist who studied Bach counterpoint among other styles and structures, this shit was YELLOW. Classical music is pretty advanced and healing! Progressive Rock is yellow (Pink Floyd, Steven Wilson, Dream Theater, etc.). Some world music. Think green that became more aware and integral. Turquoise- Dauologn -Sigur Rós. Awaken -Yes. Gates of Delerium -Yes. Museum of Consciousness -Shpongle. Also some post rock like Aural Method, Altus, and Paint the Sky Red.

@Serotoninluv that being said, the other side of the coin is feeling the need to fit in and laugh with everyone else is itself a sign you're taking life too seriously. For example, my sense of humor has little overlap with most people's, so I'm just not going to find jokes funny. And that's OK!! ?

This. It's never a matter of should or shouldn't. You're going to follow your natural impulses. As Leo had said, "Development AND awakening." Not one above or before the other. Temporarily one will take more importance, but overall, you must have both simultaneously! -
This post is for yesterday, 2-1. The beginning of my new nofap streak. So after two 2+ week streaks, my longest ever, my ego had to retreat to "lick its wounds" so to speak. I've relapsed probably 5 times in the past week, but now I'm going hard-core again to try to run the whole 90 days. I learned and grew a lot since starting this journal, so here we go!! Day 1: Energy: 3 Awareness: 3 Sexual thoughts/urges: 4 Self-esteem: 4 Social confidence: 4 Saw the hottest girl I've ever seen (only at work) today. Straight 10/10 blonde, yoga pants with literally out of this world ass... T R I G G E R E D. And on the first day of my streak? I took it as a sign, lol. You know what's even funnier, I calculated what would be my 90th day if I kept up this streak, and it falls on Dwayne Johnson and David Beckham's birthday! Yeah, the two that are constantly voted the sexiest men alive... Another sign. Gotta get my shit together so I can crack a cold one with the boys on day 90. I want my superpowers!!

Thank you for the post! But I'm not understanding it quite yet. The universe is conscious, and prior to the illusion of form, it would know itself to be infinite, nothing, and intelligent. So the universe created a limitation, forgot it did it, and now we're here. The reason for our existence can't be to explore, because the universe already knew itself beforehand. Everything we're exploring (besides direct consciousness) is all illusion (Maya) anyway, right? If there was any reason at all, it would be that the universe wanted to feel emotions and experience different perspectives of itself. I think it already was conscious of itself, unless I'm missing something... -
@LoveandPurpose sounds like you got it! Good, so now I'll indulge in your inquiry ? Raise you consciousness. Raise your capacity to love. See the beauty in life. Feel alive, to not have a day go by where you're going through the motions. (Bring consciousness into even the most mundane tasks). Drop all ideologies. Just those 5 would radically change your life if embodied! Here's the rest
-
@LoveandPurpose lol, sorry to break it to you, but even that is completely illusory and meaningless. "Measurement of success" is a stage orange idea that doesn't hold any water when you start expanding your identity. My answer would simply be to fully accept your life and practice present, conscious awareness. But even that is from a certain perspective, and saying too much. Not everyone is meant to do that.

I don't understand what you're asking. Any forum you're going to find is on the internet, and is therefore non-local and accessible by anyone. This very forum is based in the US, but I get the impression that most of the people here are outside the US... It's truly a global community here. Good luck finding anything even in the same ballpark.

Yeah. The CIA worked directly with and funded remote viewing for a couple decades, then the project was scrapped in the 90's. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_viewing Look up videos on Russell Targ. -
Some people say their opinions as fact. Isn't it interesting how this works?
-
There is no such distinction. You're going to live your life how you're going to live it, regardless. It was not a choice you made to have a successful life... Ultimately, every life that has ever been lived has been supremely successful
-
@Wyze negotion and argument are important parts of communication at stage green and below. Negotiations are nonexistent at yellow, because as a systems thinker you automatically take into account everyone's wellbeing. Everyone wins at yellow. Yellow does not seek to manipulate.

Psychedelics aren't for everyone. Accept that. Psychedelics are merely tools. If you're not bringing a high level of preparation and consciousness to the table, don't expect to get high-level insights out of it. Psychedelics will take you straight to enlightenment if you do the research and work.

More people come here to get advice for their problems, so it may seem that way. You're projecting your unsatisfaction with the miniscule and painful short-term results of this path. Stick out, it gets better! This might be a hard pill to swallow, but any awkwardness you feel when looking into someone's eyes is actually coming from you. That has always been the case -

I have actually seen a lot of scientific articles and videos lately getting closer and closer. The next 20 years will be extremely exciting! -

TheAvatarState replied to Aakash's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Aakash I feel you, even my day-to-day normal memory is fading. Sometimes, it's even to the point where I feel like I have a mental condition, lol. From research though, this is pretty common for people on the path. Your previous memory was based on an illusion of the brain, so when you shatter that illlusion, your memory starts to go with it. What you should work towards is becoming conscious of how memory is actually stored in the body. Look up Ryan Cropper on YT. -
TheAvatarState replied to AlphaAbundance's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@AlphaAbundance why the fuck are you starving yourself for 31 days? I know that can't be good for you, and hate to break it to you, but that's not spirituality. Don't torture yourself man... Instead, clean up your diet, and start a meditation and yoga practice. Not saying the path is "comfortable," but the best results are achieved in relative comfort with relatively little time commitment. Work smart, don't hustle your way to spirituality (and malnutrition). -
TheAvatarState replied to Anton Rogachevski's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Anton Rogachevski I didn't say an enlightened person could save them. You're absolutely right. I'm just saying an enlightened person could temporarily raise the consciousness of the room and come out unscathed. -
@EvilAngel That's interesting, because when I started learning and applying spiral dynamics in a nonjudgmental way, it was one of the biggest ego destroyers and empathy enhancers ever. It's a tool, so that means it's only as good as the level of Consciousness the user can bring to it. So the question is, are you mature enough to see it in a nonjudgmental way? To not confuse the map for the territory?

TheAvatarState replied to Anton Rogachevski's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
This^ I do think that once you become completely purified in the nondual (turquoise), you can raise the consciousness of the room, and that nothing phases you. But yeah, along the path, it is best to avoid these kinds of people as to not drag your spirit down. -
TheAvatarState replied to EvilAngel's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@tecladocasio it happens naturally without their immediate knowing or it. -
@Eric Tarpall notice what you're doing here.

TheAvatarState replied to Paul92's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Paul92 You're being selective, and not taking this far enough. Even the story in your head that everything is a story is itself a concept and cannot be trusted. I know you've been going through a lot of pain lately, because you've been living in your head. NONE OF THAT was real or necessary, it was completely in your head. Use the wisdom from The Power of Now. All you have is the present moment. This present experience. Drop the fucking stories and live. Enjoy. Love. Absolutely nothing is stopping you except you own Goddamn head. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful movie of life. What you're experiencing now is like if you were watching Planet Earth II and you were lost in your head contemplating the "unreal-ness" of all the animals you saw on screen, not actually watching the show. Really think about that scenario...
