  1. Is silence not the most profound awakening?
  2. @Eric Tarpall What was your environment? Inside or outside? Also placebo can be a real thing. Check with a thermometer lol. That would be true skepticism.
  3. In my experience, I wasn't fully comfortable with death until I actually died. Now I see how beautiful it is. As long as it's just a concept in your head, yeah it'll seem like a foreign, scary thing. Short of taking psychedelics and meeting your death, or having an actual near-death-experience (not recommended), some things that can help are to really zoom out and take a universal perspective. Everything that is created gets destroyed. God taking Form=impermanence. Visualize stars being created and destroyed. Supernovas. Nothing escapes death, it is completely natural. In fact, consider that what makes something beautiful is in fact its impermanence (that insight may take some contemplation). Visualize nature here on earth. Everything is constantly dying and being created. The death of one creature or plant provides the life for the next. One form to the next. Notice that it is only the form that changes: matter itself is neither created nor destroyed. The spirit of the forest, of mother earth lives on. A forest is not diminished by death; it is the cycle of life that makes it so. When you get far enough in your spirituality, you will realize that life and death are actually the same thing! But anyway, toy around with these ideas for a while and see where they lead. And no, you're not crazy for contemplating death so much... It is a gift that's uniquely human, and it's one of the most powerful things someone can do.
  4. @Guided Why don't you jump out a window then? Serious question.
  5. No thanks, I'll pass on poisoning myself
  6. There are extremists at every stage in Tier 1. Fact of life. Although I'd take a green extremist over a blue or orange extremist any day. Society moving into Green as a whole has wayyyy more benefits that would outweigh any "extremists" that come along. Don't get caught in that fear-based mentality.
  7. I would really question this. It sounds like you awakened to some degree and prescribed to the Law of Attraction at a fundamental level, yet your description of you descent sounds like the opposite, like you reverted your beliefs and succumbed to a victim mentality. You want to take ownership of the good things, yet when bad things happen you retreat; all of a sudden the universe happens to you. Well, it's tough pill to swallow that it's a 2-way street. All of the physical woes you think are happening to you are manifestations of something within. I invite you to go there with complete self-honesty.
  8. @Patrick Lynam no, this is Patrick!
  9. God is infinite and formless, by definition no limits or distinctions. In order for God to become form, it must impose limits and distinctions (laws), but these are all illusory. From what I understand and gather, reality is: Good with a capital G. Intelligent with a capital I. Loving with a capital L. This means in the absolute sense, so what these words are pointing to cannot be grasped by the dualistic mind. Love is not a law or limitation... Love is all there is. The amount of intelligence is not a law or limitation, it is the fabric of the universe, irreductible.
  10. To be happy, healthy, and present. Lead from the heart and get out of my own way! I mean, what more could you ask for?
  11. Of course, everything is
  12. On the Turning Away. Valentine's Day. Made some huge changes in my life, this is it. Day 1: Energy: 3 Awareness: 3 Sexual thoughts/urges: 3 Self-esteem: 3 Social confidence: 3
  13. @Eric Tarpall I hope you're not being serious, lol. Usain Bolt is really the only example with any merit, and you can't will yourself into a world record athlete... that's all genetics and circumstance.
  14. I don't think you should judge your life by completely relative and subjective qualities that are easily corrupted or reasoned away by ego.
  15. @Highest It doesn't affect everyone that way. It noticeably lowers my consciousness, it's just not for me.
  16. Don't lie to yourself. It's an unnecessary strain on your body, it's addictive, it raises your blood pressure, etc. The only reason you're trying to reason out of the truth is because you want to continue using it. That takes a lot of self-honesty to see that
  17. @Highest Wow, cannabis REALLY affects everyone differently! On one hand I'm kind of envious, because weed isn't that pleasurable for me and I just get stoned, but then again, I'm kind of glad because I'd use it all the time (living in a legal state) if it led to mystical experiences. I have psychedelics for that. That sounds like a great nondual experience, thank you for sharing.
  18. Ooooo, I second this! Look up MAPS, an organization that uses MDMA as the most successful known treatment for PTSD patients. It's an extremely powerful tool to recontextualize prior traumatic experiences into the correct light. It has helped me immensely in my own life. I really hope you seek it out.
  19. Yeah. I don't think there's any species where 2g would be overbearing and overly difficult, so it's a safe bet.
  20. @Wisebaxter Let me put it really bluntly: Get out of your own fucking way and see what happens. The only conceivable outcome with this attitude is presence and joy! Don't get wrapped up in the events that might or might not happen to you, because in the end that's not what's important (and surrender to the fact you don't have control over them anyway). You are here to be loving, happy, and healthy, I mean, what else could you really ask for? Leave the rest up to God, so to speak. Realized and actualized properly, these insights should cause a ginormous weight to be lifted off your soul... because if you're really honest with yourself, you don't want that kind of power and responsibility. What if you're wrong? What if you're right? These are all just mind games to trap you! Connect with your True nature and lead from the heart; great things await. Of course this is a lot easier said than done, and I'm working on getting there myself... But I'm certain this is the way life was meant to be lived. I know it from within, and I'm already past the event horizon... No one could convince me otherwise
  21. @Wisebaxter Wow, I was just thinking about creating a post on this very topic. So here's what it boils down to, the bitter pill to swallow: The level of spiritual development you'll attain in your lifetime is not up to you. If you were meant to become a spiritual master and teacher, then that's what you'll find yourself becoming. If you were meant to have a few awakenings then enjoy the rest of your life as a high-consciousness individual, then that's what you'll become. Nothing wrong with either case! The paradox comes in because you, as an ego, have adopted this limited character as yourself and think you have the power to make choices. It's obviously a very natural way of looking at your life. What makes this paradox more confusing is that when you realize there is no "chooser," that realization itself changes your outlook on how you either fight or surrender to life, but of course how you continue isn't really up to you. If you fully surrender to life in a positive way, continue your practices and such, then that could be the greatest thing to ever happen to you. If you use this information in a negative self-defeating way, then you could spiral into depression. I've seen many many people do that very thing. But here's where it gets interesting: you starting this thread and me (and many others) replying could potentially be the deciding factor in how you move forward! We're all wrapped in this infinitely linked and causal chain known as God (actually a singularity), and this is exactly how it was meant to be. I'm not choosing my words to influence you, I'm just as fascinated in this as you are! Who knows where we go from here...
  22. You're right, and I agree with that approach. I had to read the original post again, it wasn't as aggressive as I thought. ?
  23. @GabeN both, depending on what you define "I" to be.
  24. @Shaun I would advise to not exceed 2 grams when in a depressed state. Mushrooms can be really intense, scary, and confusing in high doses, but at 2 grams it's basically guaranteed to be uplifting
  25. Who says this is healthy? Hitler's checklist would look the same. A slave owner's checklist would look the same. Etc.
