  1. @Anton_Pierre How much hope do you have for the trajectory of the human race in our lifetimes?
  2. In the Valley of the Blind, the one-eyed man is King.
  3. Ok, so you said the blue pill equals wildest desires AND contentment. These two are at odds with each other, since contentment is only based on your ability to appreciate what you currently have. Otherwise it's a Chase. So the blue pill, just like in the matrix, is a false path, an illusion. The red pill is the only way to achieve contentment, and counterintuitively, all your true desires.
  4. @KyleR How do you know you're breathing? Is that really air you're breathing now?
  5. @Anirban657 self-inquiry is not a belief system. It's an active discovery through direct experience, nothing more, nothing less. Your fear about what you mind might find out is the falsehood.
  6. As I understand it, full embodiment of Turquoise is basically a full-blown Yogi/Sage/Mystic. Not really sure what else you could want. Perhaps further stages of enlightenment are best modeled using a different system, not SD. SD is mainly for mapping social development of the collective, and we're probably centuries away from an entire culture embodying even Turquoise.
  7. @Lynnel Wow, outstanding report and rebirth! Man, I almost have tears in my eyes, knowing that another soul has been so moved by this amazing substance, just like I was. I've found journaling to be extremely helpful in the integration process. It can feel so good to get your thoughts down on paper (or digitally). "Welcome, Brother. The White Lotus opens wide to those who know her secrets."
  8. Your mom is Turquoise
  9. You nailed it. This is what your fear is rooted in. That you're already set, and that somehow, there won't be any new exciting experiences to come. This is a story you've told yourself. A story you picked up from society. But is this story really grounded in anything real? You might think so, but catch yourself right there. Is it really? No, it's a limiting belief! It was the limiting belief passed on to you by your family and peers. Question that. As corny as it sounds, every day brings a plethora of new experiences and delights and tribulations. That is, if you're open to them and see them for what they are.
  10. @noselfnofun As long as you're asking the question: "Can I be happy without X?" you're not going to be happy. Let the profundity of that statement sink in. Is a dog happy? Yes, almost unconditionally. Not getting caught up in what you don't have appears to be the key. And that can manifest in so many ways... You must realize you are whole, loving being just the way you are in this moment. What else could possibly complete you? So the question isn't what you could GAIN to be happy, the question is what mental processes do you need to SHED to become the light you always have been! I. E. Enlightenment. So yes, the actualization of the above statements = enlightenment = happiness.
  11. @mandyjw that was wonderful, thanks for sharing and being authentic! It spoke to me, because I've realized for a while now that humor is a central part of awakening. Of spirituality. If you think about it and take it down to its essence, all humor is self-depreciating (in the sense it breaks down your identity of self). Whether you're laughing at someone, with someone, or at yourself, you are connecting with your own inner experience. Because we are connected, it's all "self." I like to think of humor as a release of ego. There's a tangible "lifting" of the spirit when you are able to laugh at yourself. It puts things into perspective. And the main thing I've noticed since embarking on my awakening journey is that EVERYTHING is infinitely funny; everything is a joy if you choose to see it in that light. It's like a frequency you tap into. Anyways, these are just my thoughts and observations, so hopefully you can glean something off of them. Have a wonderful day
  12. @kieranperez What is the experience of Deja Vu like? Let's get out of concepts and into direct experience. I guess you could say it's the eery feeling of doing something again in exactly the same way. How can you know for sure if it was a genuine "redo" (either in this life or a past one), or just some "misfire in your brain?" You can't! You couldn't possibly verify it, no matter how much conceptualizing and rationalizing you attempt. And if you actually get to rock bottom in your nondual understanding, there's no difference between the two scenarios at all. So it would be more accurate to describe Deja Vu as a post-rational, mystical experience. It's like a direct realization of the infinite, strange loopy nature of reality. Because of this nature, whatever you THINK it could be, whether it's a folding or joining of parallel universes, a misfire in your brain (which you think exists), or a genuine "I've been here before" moment... It's all of the above.
  13. Hey guys, if you're interested in a shocking tour of the inner workings of recent cults, A&E's new show Cults and Extreme Beliefs is right up your alley. Not only does it touch on nearly every part of Leo's excellent 2-part series on Cult Dynamics, it's also thrilling and terrifying. The production is well-done. Trust me, it's worth the time and effort to watch. The first episode is about Nixium, a self-help company, in fact, focused on spiritual growth. I think it's a necessary eye-opener for anyone in the self-help field. And this could have been "Actualized" in an alternate universe! Ironically enough, Leo's 2-part series happens to be the perfect companion piece to this show. The show is also on Hulu (free 30-day trial if you don't have).
  14. @Leo Gura Games within games within games within games. It never stops. I understand now, and it's beautiful yet terrifying. Watch the whole thing, and you might catch a glimpse.
  15. Don't trust anything, but it can be a good resource. "Sort the wheat from the Chaff." lol
  16. @Scholar Short answer, give them some psychedelics
  17. Is that grounds to automatically dismiss everything Jordan says? I don't think there's anything fake about his rise in popularity, because he's an intellectual who has well thought out arguments. Isn't calling Peterson a clown, never to be taken seriously, the exact same non-nuanced judgment that you criticize others of making?
  18. Wow, I had never heard that before, and you inspired me to look it up. Beautiful stuff! ? He alone knows what authenticity is. Vulnerability. To love is to be vulnerable.
  19. @Pouya youre right, you are more vulnerable when being authentic. Think about it historically. People have been ridiculed, tortured, and murdered for being authentic. For instance, Leo would have been persecuted for his teachings not even a few decades ago. And from an evolutionary perspective, our egos had to be extremely protective and reserved to survive. However, people are also inextricably drawn to authenticity, like a moth to the flame. It radiates values that most people have covered up or forgotten. The greatest wisdom of our time is telling us to be more authentic, despite all these societal and inner forces telling us not to.
  20. @moon777light be the observer and focus on your monkey mind. Where are these thoughts coming from? Why? Try to reach a state of awareness as a "disembodied spirit" looking at your monkey mind as if separate from it. Do that for the remainder of your 3 months. Really try to map out conceptually AND intuitively (feeling) this "monkey mind." You will grow immensely. This isn't where it stops though. After your 3 months, your goal is to merge your true nature (pure awareness) with this monkey mind, so that they become one. That is the ultimate goal, to converge these 2 realities into one seamless experience. Leo talks about this extensively in his latest "how to do self inquiry" video. Please do not be discouraged. Stay vigilant. I also find that upping the concentration to 3+ minutes is way more beneficial that increasing meditation time. 1 hour is plenty for anything you'll be doing over the next few years. Godspeed
  21. ? Here's a fun exercise: journal about "what is an action?" What is the relationship between thought and action?
  22. No, not at all. What you are sensing right now is nothing but pure Truth. Also, what you are sensing right now is nothing but pure hallucination. Therefore, Truth = hallucination = nothing. Tough pill to swallow, I know
  23. You're absolutely right. But name one activity that doesn't end up turning harmful (or at least into a hindrance) when done unconsciously. The way I see it, reading isn't the problem. HOW you read can potentially be a problem. Try to zoom out and see how this applies to anything that you do. What you are after is consciousness. Nothing more, nothing less.
