Total liberation?
Total liberation?Of course it's not straight forward. By design. Otherwise you couldn't experience what it's like to have a human POV.
The deeper question is, why would you care to escape it? The way your question is framed it assumes that escape is better than not-escape. But this is only true if you think it is.
God escapes itself, then it returns to itself. Since it has nowhere to go, since it is in all places at once. Liberation is to realize that there is nowhere to go, nowhere to escape because all places are equally good. So long as you think that one place or state is better than another, you will suffer and seek to change your state. To be liberated is to be surrendered to whatever state happens to arise, seeing the perfection of them all. If you try to cling to any one state, including formlessness, it becomes a problem.
You can't escape the totality of what you are.

Is 5 meo dmt really a magic pill to enlightenment?
Is 5 meo dmt really a magic pill to enlightenment? Some things in life you can only intuit. Not everything is absolute knowledge. We deal with a lot of uncertainties in this work because we never have perfect information. We cannot crawl into a person's head to know how awake they are. But we nevertheless have to make some assessments of it in order to determine who is worth learning from.
I have interacted with and interviewed masters with 40 years of experience. And I see gaps in their understanding of reality/God. I feel like I have become conscious of some things they have not. Of course this is a grey area. It involves some guesswork.
No doubt 40 years of discipline is a powerful thing and comes with many benefits which you could not get any other way. But it does not guarantee the highest levels of consciousness or understanding.

Is 5 meo dmt really a magic pill to enlightenment?
Is 5 meo dmt really a magic pill to enlightenment?Well, obviously, since that's basically what enlightenment is.
You'd have to sit and concentrate on nothingness for many thousands of hours. Or do decades of yoga.
Yoga is basically a method for naturally producing 5-MeO-DMT or its equivalent. Dark room retreats are another method. Long fasts are another method. Shamanic breathing is another method.
All these techniques are designed to change your state of consciousness.

Total liberation?
Total liberation? You don't have to give up experience to be liberated.
Experience is nirvana, is infinity. You just need to be more conscious of what experience really is.
Liberation is NOW, NOW, NOW! Find it in the NOW or you won't ever find it.

The 5-MeO-DMT Mega-Thread
The 5-MeO-DMT Mega-ThreadNot at all.
Ultimate reality is perfectly clear. It is Absolute Infinity and you are God, the creator of it. There can be nothing more. But you can realize this deeper and deeper.
It would not matter to you.
At sufficient levels of consciousness pain is indistinguishable from pleasure. Pain is something you imagine.
But don't expect to easily embody that

Is 5 meo dmt really a magic pill to enlightenment?
Is 5 meo dmt really a magic pill to enlightenment?Nothing and Everything are identical.
There are many degrees of realizing this. It's not that you're realizing anything totally new, but you're going deeper and deeper down the same rabbit hole, realizing God more and more and more until finally you hit total omniscience.
The highest truth is not nothingness. It is that you are God and you have direct consciousness of how you are creating the entire universe -- every last grain of sand on every beach in the universe. To somehow separate nothingness from form is actually a shallow level of nondual realization. There are much deeper levels.
All of this, and more, 5-MeO-DMT can show you effortlessly. These are levels of consciousness which even the highest spiritual masters rarely attained. At these levels of consciousness you are literally God. You are the creator of all spiritual masters. Your power and authority is total, singular, and absolute. No teacher can teach you anything at this level because you have become all teachers, and more. This level of consciousness is completely unspeakable and unimaginable. And yet it is the ultimate truth.
I hope one day ya'll reach it. But I wouldn't bet money on it unless you're doing lots of 5-MeO-DMT.

No benefits. Frustration.
No benefits. Frustration.@Svartsaft To get serious benefits from meditation it's very important to start doing it strictly. It's too easy to turn meditation into just daydreaming. That is not proper meditation and so it doesn't produce benefits.
So you need to find a formal technique and stick to it rigorously.
Or try something like Kriya Yoga. It's more powerful than regular meditation and you can feel the benefits pretty fast, within weeks/months.
Either way though, you gotta make your technique more strict. This work requires serious self-discipline. That's why it's difficult and most people don't do it.

The Ultimate Guide to Ramana Maharshi's Self-Inquiry
The Ultimate Guide to Ramana Maharshi's Self-InquirySo I have just released an extensive guide just dedicated to the practice of Maharshi's self-inquiry.
There's a description of the process, but also answers to common questions, and I'll be adding to that list over time. So if you have any questions about self-inquiry not answered there, feel free to let me know.
Meanwhile, I'd love to hear any feelings, thoughts, or suggestions. I expect to be revising the guide over time.

What do you guys do on days when depression overwhelms you?
What do you guys do on days when depression overwhelms you?Slow down, put on some good chillout music, go for a drive, and contemplate life.
I find it helps to go into the belly of the whale and come out the other end. Process the material. Enjoy the melencholy as much as you can. Sadness has a certain sweetness to it.

Is 5 meo dmt really a magic pill to enlightenment?
Is 5 meo dmt really a magic pill to enlightenment?Yes. If you do it right. And you will awaken deeper than a Zen master with 40 years of daily practice.
You can be so awake that you won't be able to walk straight.
But do you dare go there? Probably not.

Inside Mooji's Cult
Inside Mooji's CultThat's not a good way of looking at it.
Life itself requires discipline. You can't just act on every silly impulse you have. Those impulses are often egoic.
And love is not a matter of force. Love is a deeper thing.
This whole topic of conscious relationships is very big. We have not covered it yet at all.

Who's Interested In Conscious Politics? Some great questions.

Inside Mooji's Cult
Inside Mooji's CultThat's off topic for this thread.
There are no easy answers here.
That's mostly a function of how modern society is structured.
If you lived in a tribe in the Amazon 50,000 years ago, sex would be a lot easier. People today are very socially alienated despite living in giant cities.
That's simply not true. Have you not seen nature documentaries of how hard animals must fight to find a mate? Sometimes they fight to the death for it. Mating is brutal because it's so central to survival. This brutality is precisely what selects for higher quality offspring and drives evolution. The weak are weeded out for the benefit of the next generation.
Be careful with such incel victim narratives. Sex is not to be taken for granted. It's a serious thing, a matter of life and death in the animal kingdom.
As a human you actually have a lot more control over your mating possibilities than almost any other animal. You can even buy sex toys, prostitutes, wives, etc. Hell, you could organize an orgy! The only limit is your resourcefulness and drive. If you really wanted to you could design a life where you have sex with a new person every single day until your dick falls off.

Inside Mooji's Cult
Inside Mooji's CultYes, that's very common and totally expected.
Stage Blue represses sexuality a lot. Including of course their own homosexual impulses, which are denied so deeply they turn into violent homophobia.
Yes, of course, but only at very advanced levels of this work. It's not for noobs.
-
Inside Mooji's Cult
Inside Mooji's CultThis is why in many of the best spiritual communities/ashrams/monasteries sex is simply not allowed and vows of celibacy are taken.
Of course that still doesn't fully resolve the problem as sexuality is too strong a force to simply be suppressed. Sexual tension will still run high and it can get expressed in very creative ways. Buddhist monks commonly have sex with each other by rubbing their genitals between the other's legs. Technically it ain't "sex". Lol
You have to really appreciate how powerful of a force the sex drive is. It's basically impossible to just drop it. And sex leads to lots of drama and ego games. I would never expect any teacher or human being to be "above it".
Of course there are healthy and unhealthy ways of expressing it.

How truth is prior from proof?
How truth is prior from proof? The mistake you're making here is you're stretching the meaning of the concept of "proof", extending it to mean truth, thereby rigging your argument to win by definition. If you do that, then yes, you can say everything is proof. But this is a sloppy way of thinking which lacks nuance. Proof is precisely not everything. Proof is a concept designating a specific type of thing. It is not equivalent to truth. As a simple example, if someone actually committed a murder, that would be truth, but the proof of it is something else. DNA evidence, a bloody knife, video camera footage, verbal testimony from eye-witnesses, etc all of that is proof, but none of it is identical to the murder itself. To say that the murder itself is the proof is a sloppy way of thinking which fails to understand what the notion of "proof" is supposed to designate.
As you can see in the above example, truth is prior to proof. You can have a murder with zero proof, but you cannot have proof of a murder which never occurred.
Proof is a secondary phenomenon. Truth is a primary phenomenon.
Of course, ultimately, when you get to nondual consciousness, proof will collapse into truth as everything becomes oneness. But you have to be careful here not to conflate absolute and relative domains. Proof only occurs in the relative domain. Truth occurs in all domains because it is everything that is. As an example, a donkey has not idea what proof is. You cannot prove anything to a donkey because proof is a conceptual human activity. But the donkey IS truth. Even though the donkey also has no concept of truth, it is BEING truth, whether it knows it or not is irrelevant in this case.
You have to be careful with how you define your terms when doing philosophy, otherwise you end up playing word games. Here's how the dictionary defines "proof":

Acceptance vs changing myself
Acceptance vs changing myselfConsciousness is often inconvenient in that goes directly against your short-term survival agenda. Which is precisely why so few people do it.
For example, if your job requires you to lie all the time to get sales, focusing your consciousness on that will probably endanger your job.

So there is no war to fight
So there is no war to fightThis would be a big mistake.
War is a real thing (as part of the dream). And sometimes it requires action from you, depending on the situation.
Just because you're enlightened does not mean you become immune to survival threats.
Sometimes, yes. Depends on the details of the situation.
Some wars are aggressive and unnecessary. Some wars are defensive and prevent even greater damage in the future.
For example, letting Hitler conquer Europe and execute all the Jews would have been a mistake (relative to human life).
You have to be careful not to conflate relative and absolute matters. This requires nuance. Simplistic solutions such as: no war ever, will actually result in greater evil. Violence must be done consciously. Which is very tricky to pull off.
This is the problem of good and fair policing and justice. The process is easily corrupted by devils. But a world with 7 billion egos and zero police cannot work.

How does Leo read all these books on the book list?
How does Leo read all these books on the book list? No, I read normally because I find it more enjoyable.
Plus the kind of stuff I read these days is not be skimmed. It's to be deeply studied, underlined, contemplated, and re-read again.
The top rated books on my book list are worth re-reading several times. And they must be studied, not just read. A few of my top rated books need to be re-read 5 times just to start to understand their full potential.
Understand that reading is not a binary thing, like, Did you read that book? Yes/no? Reading has many degrees of comprehension to it. Do not make a mockery of reading by boiling it down to a quantitative measure like number of pages or books read. It's not enough to read, you must deeply study, contemplate, and do exercises.

Inside Mooji's Cult
Inside Mooji's CultWorshiping is a dangerous path. I would like to see Mooji discouraging it.
As for exorcisms, that's a standard spiritual practice. If you do lots of shamanic breathing / Holotropic breathing you will understand what exorcism means.
There are two problems happening here simultaneously:
1) Worshiping and cult dynamics truly are dangerous and can easily get out of hand.
2) Spirituality is very deep and complex, and to an outsider or "normie", legit spiritual teachings, techniques, and behaviors can seen insane and even criminal when really they aren't. For example, it's true that Mooji is God. But so is everyone who's worshiping him.
It seems like some of the stuff Mooji is doing is unhealthy. Yet at the same time it's probably healthier than what mainstream society is doing. So it's never black & white, as with Osho's ashram. A large ashram will have a lot of political games going on because it's like a small society. Running a small society is very thorny.
You also have to take into account that some of the people who come to him for help are deeply troubled. They might already be suicidal, depressed, or in deep suffering. So you can't just blame all that on Mooji.

We talk about survival precisely so that we can distinguish it from not-survival/being.

Need Help Understanding These Experiences
Need Help Understanding These ExperiencesYeah, of course that will happen. Did you see my video: The Dark Side Of Meditation? It's all about this topic.
VERY weird stuff can and will happen when you meditate a lot and deeply.
You shouldn't be worried, but excited! This means you're meditating properly.
Expect a lot energetic shifts, expect to see colors and lights, expect full-on hallucinations.
The fast-heartbeat I can easily explain: you're at the brink of ego-death, and the body is reacting to it with primal fear. You will have to surrender to it at some point to get your enlightenment.
And if you feel like you're going insane, you're definitely headed in the right direction. Don't be surprised if you fall through the floor of your house one day
The only thing you really need to do is mindfully observe all these phenomena with curiosity. Maintain your desire to see the TRUTH. And practice self-love and surrender.
All of that stuff is the Devil leaving your body, and sometimes he don't go quietly

Naive Realism And "stuff Behind The Scenes"
Naive Realism And "stuff Behind The Scenes"There is no you. There is no observer. There is no witness. There is just the dream. You don't exist even within that dream.
It's much more radical than solipsism. EVEN when you're in your house, it still doesn't exist. The entire dream is non-existent. Even when its right before your eyes. Because the substance of the dream is literally nothing.
This dream we call "reality" has very consistent rules in certain local places. The counter-question for you is: why do you expect dreams to not be consistent? That's your problem right there. You're placing silly expectations upon metaphysics.
Not only isn't there a world outside your perception. There isn't even a you who's perceiving!
You're not thinking about this existentially enough. You're stuck in the naive realist paradigm.
Do some DMT and you'll immediately see where you're wrong. Escaping the illusion is not easy. Your entire life is an absorption into this dream. So you're not likely to see it as a dream unless you make a massive effort.
