Where are you getting these numbers from? Rice calories per USDA - 205 calories for 158g, i.e 130 calories per 100 g Whole chicken calories per USDA - 200 calores for 84 grams, i.e 240 calories per 100 g Buckwheat and Barley I agree with but those were harder to come by where I lived and were more expensive. Lentils I ate a lot of. I am 98kg at 7-8% body fat. And I exercise regularly. So, there's a difference. -

Hah, good one. You need to eat 1.5kg of rice a day to get 2000 calories. And that’s for small humans. My daily intake is about 3000. So I think you can see why it doesn’t work for everyone. To be clear, when I have the financial freedom to eat a healthy and diverse Vegan diet, I will. I stopped alcohol and weed cold turkey due to the prolonged health effects. I am willing to do the same with meat. -

Do you know what it’s like to eat only rice and beans for a month? Cuz I do. It’s miserable. I lost 12 kg. Adding eggs and cheap meat is what saved me. Glad to hear you are not treated poorly. Here in the US, even at an elite college, I have gotten “dirty immigrant” and “go back to your country” numerous times. Those people always speak with the assumption you are not educated “are you aware”. My bad for coming at you, but I hope you realise that phrasing of the question matters. -

@Something Funny I am from the Balkans. GDP per capita is comparable to Ukraine’s. Prices I am referring account for the crazy inflation we have been having. Point is at 3k a year, even with a price disparity we are not even close to a comfortable wage. p.s You being Eastern Europe makes the phrasing of the question even worse. Have you never been talked down upon to know that is not appreciated? -

@Something Funny Then phrase it as “what is the purchasing power/price disparity between the US and your country “ not “are you aware”. The former indicates your interest in learning more, the second is demeaning and is the way most westerners speak to people from other countries ime. -
The only reason the US is technologically and economically competitive is because of all the highly-skilled/educated immigrants (I count myself amongst those). We outperform Americans on every metric. And are not entitled Karens.

That exact country is not important. Shit back home is not 15 times less expensive. I am right now an international student in Cambridge, Massachusetts, considered one of the most expensive places to live in the US. Prices here are 1.5- 2 times those back home. So spare me the demeaning question. -

I for a part of my life had to live on about $3,000 per year. While taking care of another person. And I was in no way the exception - around 30% in my country live on that or less. Where I am from, bananas, tofu, frozen vegies and fruits are all more expensive than eggs and meats like chicken or minced. My point is, you Americans have access to different foods and benefit from a large state-subsidised agriculture. That is not the case for a lot of people around the world. -
The value in MBPT is to learn what you need to counter-balance/ strengthen your blindspots. I am an ENFJ (very much on the dot as INFJ, which I have also gotten at different points), which has helped me realize that: - I need to consistently apply rigor and scrutiny to al my intuitive (N) ideas - I need to be disciplined in my mind and feelings (F), because they carry a lot of charge - I need to be less "preachy", because a lot of people can take that as me judging them (J)

Think of it in "Bayesian terms", i.e you should never be "100%" certain in anything, because then no new information would change your opinion. However, different "priors"/ hypotheses do not stand to equal scrutiny - for example, the idea that God made the universe in 7 days or that the world is 6000 years - there has been consistent evidence of varying origins (biology, geology, history, physics, etc.) as to make these ideas go to 0 in probability. There are of course more complex cases when there is multiple-hypothesis testing for example. Then, it is a question of which one remains after sufficient new information and is simple enough (Occam's razor weighting).

My suspicion is it will not stand up to scrutiny. There are kids experiments with making a battery out of lemons or potatoes, but it is not really something you can use industrially. There are better ways for generating clean energy.

What's up with a "protein limit"? I have never had side effects from eating a lot of protein.
-
Same. Also, if you are a very active, the difference in diet is immediate.

I have a suspicion all the no-porn/ no-fap people are low-testosterone. For men with very high T levels, unless you have Hubberman's arrangement, I don't think y'all realize how distracting and all-consuming it becomes unless you have ways of releasing.

Just an added perspective: Veganism is very much a privileged diet. When a person makes in a month what you spend in a single shopping spree in WholeFoods and what not, it's not really feasible. Especially when you don't have access to stores with "replacements" which are most of times 2x the price the originals. I totally sympathize with the environmental impact and health considerations of being Vegan. But you have to remember large parts of the world don't even have consistent meals. -
Same lol. This is awfully similar to the cult of personality reminiscent of many former communist countries like my own. Rather focus on their work and writings instead of their faces.

Precisely. The privilege of being born in a developed society. So spare me the new-age woo woo. Until you show me how your "magic" can power nations and lift people up from famine, I will stick with my mathematical and scientific undertakings. -

Then suit yourself. I grew up in the mountains, no warm water and having to shit in a hole. You are an American in MA, so how uncomfortable could your life really be? -
You're right. Would you have predicted that Zucc would follow in Musk's footsteps? https://www.wired.com/story/meta-immigration-gender-policies-change/ The cascade of corruption is just beginning.

This is your assumption and it is false. Also false. The only reason you are not in a cave right now, wiping your ass with leaves, is because millions of humans before you have used their intellect to mold existence. Nobody forces you to use your brain if you don't want to. Just don't expect others to follow in your steps. -
Relationships and connection with people is another domain entirely. You will never truly grow as a human being unless you interact with others. Loneliness is something you can transcend when you understand it stems from fear. That doesn't mean you won't enjoy human connection, just that when it is not genuine or it is superficial, you will have no qualms of letting go. This way, only the real people will stick around you.

I have had deeper spiritual and visionary experiences than this. None of it invalidates a rigorous and continuous sharpening of one's intellect. -

Noted, I will be sharper and spell the essence of my questions: What are the pitfalls in seeing a never-ending abstraction ladder of relative ontologies? - I know it by definition this won't lead to Truth, but Truth itself must be reflected in each, which is currently not accounted in this epistemic model. How do you relate the mutually-exclusive perspectives at the meta-layer when there isn't a fundamental "ontology"? Building from first principles/ axioms does not work, neither does "empiricism" due to the selection-bias of each. -
Ero replied to Oppositionless's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I was asking for your general feedback, i.e where do you see pitfalls/ epistemic blind spots in my current understanding. When I am contemplating at the meta-layer where the paradoxes/ multi-linear truths emerge, parallel to Euclid’s fifth axiom opening distinct geometric universes (pun intended) or the Continuum Hypothesis, I am having difficulty relating the distinct ontologies. “Grounding” at this level doesn’t really work, as you have previously clarified, so other epistemic tools are needed, which I am currently not equipped with. I would appreciate a nudge or direction. Thanks. -
I logged in for the first time in a while and this seems to be next level of brainrot. It's literally became the sewage of Social Media.
