  2. It is not just a sore throat. I use my voice a lot every day of my life & I never loose it or get sore throat unless I get a virus or something. I did manage to keep my voice & was able to work this week. I just had a very small & low range. I did buy a giant bag of lemons but at this point I don't know what is helping or not. I introduce way too many variables at once to be sure of what does what. In any case, thanks for your suggestions! That's a nice sentiment but it's undeniable that healthy lifestyle choices are buffering you from getting sick. I don't track my nutrients intake. Maybe I should. I do eat a pretty good diet. Lots of fruits, berries, veggies, beans, rice, eggs, occasional high quality meat. I never buy or eat "cheat" meals, processed foods & the likes. I got rid of those cravings many years ago. I generally have good sleep when I am not sick but what tends to happen is that I'll get sick & then my sleep goes to shit. I'll wake up every 3hrs or so because my nose is jammed & I am half suffocating. It's a viscous cycle. The sickness makes my sleep worse which diminishes my system's ability to fight it.
  3. How much do you sit in a day? Does your work involve you sitting a lot? That could be something to look into. Much harder falling asleep standing up.
  4. We'll chit chat the hell out of you. Hi!
  5. THC oil (Just don't make it a habit) > Vaping (this one isn't health wise but ok alright whatever) >>>>>>>> Smoking (that is the retarded one)
  6. Gosh darn it why is this the right answer to everything!? Dear stupid, endlessly nuanced & complex af world, I love you.
  7. @Spiritual Warrior Every single example on that thread is trying to figure it out but we made it for a reason no? To understand the difference between wisdom and foolishness. I don't mean op any harm there's nothing wrong with foolishness. I do take part in it a lot.
  8. Someone should probably link this thread on the foolishness exemples mega thread.
  9. @Bazooka Jesus **m7b5 intensifies**
  10. How do you have the luxury to choose? ahaha When I teach in the morning I gotta wake up. When I have a gig I have to stay up late. I feel like the world determines when I sleep more than I do! I don't feel more creative or better at night tho it's all the same to me as long as I had enough sleep. What's really hurting is flip flopping between day and night. I am already doing that to an extent but last summer I worked at a place where it was 7h-17h one week & 19h-05h the other week. That destroyed my mood & health more than anything else.
  11. I used to have that as well until I reduced the amount of breakfast significantly. I have a few fruits for breakfast & a light lunch as well. I get most of the days calories from dinner after all my work is said and done.
  12. Those are great numbers. I am attracted to probably less than 1% of women.
  13. What are you talking about? Most sports won't give you brain damage unless you make a seriously wrong move that has nothing to do with the sport. Like yeah, you could fall on the ground while running & get brain damage but you won't if you just run like you are supposed to. Existing is fundamentally risky. You can't go about living your life trying to avoid all the risks. Unless you are looking at full contact sports like hockey, football or boxing, the benefits of most sports far outweigh the risks. I've been skiing for almost 20years and I have never gotten a commotion(I mean concussion, damn you french(I mean I love you)). It's possible yeah but like is it really a concern? I don't think so. Just be smart and don't go down double black diamonds on your first try.
  14. What was the chimp episode? It's older than this and I can't remember.
  15. I would cum in my sleep on day 3.
  16. People have lives and the world doesn't revolve around you. It could be that they don't respect you if they leave you on seen. Or it could be a million other reasons and your neurotic mind is contextualizing the situation as a lack of respect in order to feel sorry for itself. Notice how paradoxical it is that complaining about not having friends is the thing making it harder for you to make friends. Maybe you don't complain outright to other people but if you feel that way towards yourself it's gonna seep out of you and make your vibe not fun to be exposed to. That is a nasty vibe to be around for sane people. Jealousy is nasty. "I am so much better, why do they have it better than me?" That's how you sound. Humble yourself and be genuinely interested in other people without needing them to be interested in you, then they'll be interested. If you truly think of yourself that you are an interesting person and don't need others to say it in order to feel that way, you will have fun and people will be drawn to you. And if they don't, you won't care. Not everyone will jive with you, even if you are socially calibrated very well. So bear that in mind. There are people that just don't want you in their life and you shouldn't want those people around either.
  17. My brother lost his best friend to an accident when he was 18. There really is nothing he could've done so I am guessing he didn't struggle with guilt as much but it was still very hard on him. I didn't see him smile for a few years after that. He is now your age & a transformed person. It does get better with time. Hang on.
  18. I definitely don't have extensive experience but I love it. Makes my life more aromatic and I appreciate that. It's the same kind of joy I get from grinding high quality coffee beans in the morning before brewing. It's like incense without the negatives on the lungs. I think the whoowhoo stage green claims are interesting. Might even have some truth but I am not attuned and experienced enough to assess that. Cedar wood is one of my favorites.
  19. You could hunt it yourself. It's gonna be way more expensive for way less meat and way more time, but you are going to respect & appreciate it a lot. It's also going to be leagues healthier than anything you could buy.
  20. I won't say if it was or if it wasn't cause I don't have a clue. All I am going to say is that it's very easy to hear all of those sweet vids from Leo & then deceive yourself that you've experienced that stuff when you really haven't. The fact you gotta ask here to make sure is a red flag to me. Take back your authority but stay very honest with yourself is my advice.
  21. Coffee
  22. This is false. You will literally never run out of things to try.
  23. Do you have hobbies? What do you do for fun when your work is all said and done? And what is your work like? Do you like it? Can you find something better if not? Try knitting, skiing, boxing, running, playing music, dancing, cooking, growing plants, making miniature ships inside bottles, anything really. If you don't like it, try something else. You are bound to fall in love with something at some point. Don't fall in the trap of making your entire life about self-help. Meditation is great and clearing your lifestyle of addictions & such(like you seem to be doing already) is great but you also gotta do stuff. Life is here for you to participate in it. The renunciate path is not for the vast majority of people. You can enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine sometimes in moderation(If you like it). You don't need to try to be holier than you are. I love coffee. Am I addicted? Maybe. Who gives a shit? Live your life. Go have a chat with your parents and tell them you love them. The world will give back what you put into it. If you put negativity in the world you'll be hit with negativity over the head until you learn to let that shit go. I know how hard it is, I am just being blunt with you here. You are not broken. You merely think you are. Go out and have a chat with some homeless people. That is misery you cannot comprehend.
  24. In an effort to become a better citizen I've been shopping for news around where I live in canada(I am not familiar with US networks). I've been wanting to understand what's going on in the world but what I came around to is just insanity. I cannot, for the life of me, find a reliable & non-dramatizing network. So I did a small amount of googling to understand why the news is such a negative, shit-slinging contest and I stumbled on this article: https://markmanson.net/why-you-should-quit-the-news It's a good read. The author goes through some history of centralized & decentralized networks of information as well as what to do if you want actually useful and relevant information. A few things I gathered from it: -Prioritize long form news. If the thing takes 40mins to read, it wasn't just an emotional rant about somebody's opinion, but required probably days & months to research and write. -Don't ever click on a clickbait. -The news networks that make you pay for it will have better information. -You will not understand politics by consuming the news. Read a book about politics if you want good information on politics. The news is about the immediate term. It totally misses the big picture. -You don't need a news anchor to tell you what to think about elections & such. Listen to the candidates themselves & decide for yourself which is the least-worst one. ~~~~~~~ Here's the bottom of the barrel: Murders, crimes, gangs, drugs & violence. Most of the articles I came across that deal with those topics are worthless. Only there to turn people into emotional baboons. I see the war going on in the middle east right now as an exception. I am mostly talking about local stuff here. Once in a blue moon I come across something cool but it's buried so deep in this thick crap that I am questioning whether it's worth it or not. Am I being a shitty citizen if I just remove myself form consuming the news at all?
