There should still be holes where inconsistency bleeds out. The only inconsistency is in the mind, perception. But what remains out there to be perceived is consistent, no need for a strange loop. It’s there whether you perceive it or not. Because it remains there when you look away and look back. -

So you speak from belief and not experience. -

If you’ve awakened then why are you still here in the same life you lived before? -

I know what a dream looks like and what the mind is like. Incredibly inconsistent. If reality were only one layer, there would be so much inconsistency. -

Having an opinion is inherently arrogant

Why would it be comfortable? Changing oneself is naturally upsetting. Edit: maybe I am wrong tho. Maybe the difficulty is the ego backlash. Idk

It’s so far away that the signs have no chance of reaching us

Yes, it’s called exploration.

There is no reason to assume intelligent life can even reach us let alone be noticed by us in the large universe. It’s just too big for that.

I use Reddit but for entertainment purposes. I do however follow some subs for self-improvement purposes like r/meditation. I will probably eventually drop Reddit though.

I’m a materialist. I don’t buy into your view that consciousness is god. I argue that each person has their own consciousness, and we are separate from each other. This comes from the observation of others, including animals, and observing evidence of a conscious being. Yet I cannot become aware of their awareness, I can only become aware of my own experience. If you believe you can do such a thing, I say it is the mind generating hallucination, or belief in a meta-narrative that’s being projected onto reality. Reality as it is cannot be experienced by me. I can only perceive it with my senses. I experience an interpretation of reality. And it’s safe to assume reality is out there, independent of the narratives I project onto it. My criticisms of science are mostly that it doesn’t make intuitive sense. I’m rather basic in that way. I don’t care to learn all about physics because it’s theory and conjecture. We can’t know reality, we can only interpret a biased experience. I try not to let metaphysical assumptions cloud my behavior. Science and spirituality are both metaphysical assumptions. I try to live life as awareness alone. It’ll take me years to awaken to that. I’m pretty unconscious (autopilot). I do allow myself to hold beliefs, I find you need to assume eating is right on some basic level in order to eat. Assumptions about the universe are necessary in that way. But I don’t have the patience nor interest in physics to learn it. So I marvel at what physics says but don’t believe it to be true. There is no need for me to believe in general relativity or quantum mechanics to function in my day to day life. As such, I view physics as playing with assumptions and belief. I’m not personally interested in such a game.

Living a shallow life doesn’t mean you’re a shallow person. Enlightenment can be found regardless of the circumstances of your life

@commie it’s semantics. I try not to identify any way. But telling other people that I’m a man is identification. Stating that I am detrans is identification. Identification is more than just a mental attachment, it is also simply the expression of what is. To identify something with words is not the same as to identify with a belief. I don’t identify with the belief that I am a man. But I identify myself as male if the question arises.

Expressing disapproval can be challenging. Simply stating your opinion is all you can do. You can’t expect them to like it, agree with it, or change. If you’re not willing to state your opinion than be silent and accept them as they are. True acceptance of others is healthy. It’s not your business to better them. Take your best guess on what is okay to speak up about and what’s not.

Try not to judge your parents. Their habits don’t make them bad people or anything. They are as they are; accept them as they are. This “I don’t like their habits” sounds like judgement. Unless you’re just saying that their hobbies aren’t yours? But saying that their habits are bad or wrong is not the way to go.

My stance on transition is that simply wishing to be the opposite gender is not enough to make you trans. To be trans you have to want your life to majorly change so that other people see you as the opposite gender. Simply wanting to identify as the opposite gender or as agender alone would only make someone gender nonconforming or non-binary. Being trans is wanting major change in your life to accomplish the identity of the opposite gender. You have to want the whole song and dance to be trans. If you don’t, you’re not trans. At least that’s my opinion, don’t take my advice as truth my advice is based upon my personal experience and opinions. I used to be trans but the reality was that the things required to publicly pass as female was outside my comfort zone. FFSurgery and makeup and voice training would all be things I needed to pass as a woman, but I was uncomfortable with all three. With just medicine alone, I could not pass as female and so I could not reach the point where I truly identified as a woman. Instead I felt like a fake. When I realized that what I was comfortable with wasn’t enough for me to feel like a woman, it caused severe depression for me. But accepting my circumstance was enough to get out of that funk. I now identify male because this is the life I’ve been given. I count as detrans: Someone who started transition but stopped for whatever reason. anyway that’s my opinion and story. basically, if you want to be the opposite gender so bad you’re willing to undergo major change to accomplish that identity, that’s when your trans. As someone questioning, it’s important to take a step back and ask yourself if going through the steps to change your gender is really what you want. For me the answer was no. the notion that we are not identity is certainly a challenge to reconcile with being trans. For me it was realizing that being trans isn’t about identity, it’s about wanting life to be different. It’s honestly up to you. Do you want major change in your life to be seen as the opposite gender? Trans men have it easier. The hormones from hrt give them a deeper voice and often facial hair. Less is needed to pass as male for trans men. Keep in mind however that top surgery to remove boobs is usually needed to pass as a man. For trans woman, usually hrt is not enough to pass. passing might require facial feminization surgery as well as makeup and voice training, plus wearing feminine clothes. bone structure changes in puberty and so for trans women it usually takes a lot to pass. Not only that but you might require bottom surgery, which only gives you what attempts to function as a vagina, a whole in your body that requires lube and daily dilation to use. but it is not a real vagina. IMO if you aren’t willing to do what it takes to pass as the opposite gender, the trans narrative is not for you. If so, you need to accept the gender you have or identify non-binary.

I find that intelligence is the ability to retain what you learn.

@soos_mite_ah you might want to meditate daily to find a sense of stability. I recommend either mantra meditation or being meditation. Any mantra would do and you can look up mantra online or make your own. Mantras are a word, syllable, or phrase of syllables that you repeat silently. Bonus points if saying the mantra has a rhythm to it. You say the mantra silently, in your mind. The goal is to find simplicity and calm. Effortlessness. When you waver from the mantra, that is okay, simply return your attention to the mantra. Keep the mantra you use to yourself - sharing it takes away from its power. An example mantra you might use is vasa. Or om. Being meditation - this is to practice awareness alone - pure being. Be aware of simply being. Ask yourself “what is it that is aware of my being,” “what is it that knows that I am.” It is not an experience at all it is simple recognition of one’s own existence. breath meditation is also good - but I don’t personally like it and as such I don’t really know much about it. I recommend a practice of fifteen or twenty minutes once or twice a day. Meditation can be something that is stable in your life despite any obstacles or demands of the changing world. Who you are at the core is unchangeable - you are as you exist - what changes is thoughts and experiences and other such things - but the core nature of your being is always the same when you meditate on it. There is a core self in there that you can find. I personally use those two methods to find it. That core self can be stability for you.

I like video games. PvP. It’s competitive, fun, challenging, an opportunity to grow and prove my skill. Right now my computer broke, so I can’t play. Sucks. But I’ll play again in life. I don’t think it’s bad to play, if you’re seeking higher conscious activities, you don’t have to make everything in your life high conscious. Relax a little, don’t work all the time unless you’re that type.

What does stability mean to you? Ponder that question and you may find your answer on what to do about it.
-
It’s okay to be unstable in life. If you’re going through a lot that’s making you unstable, that’s perfectly okay. Do your best to handle what demands come to you. With time, stability will return, and it takes the work of handling demands to get there. You want stability in your life, go for a walk every day. Or exercise at the gym. Or maybe talk with a loved one who’s there for you. Or start a meditation practice where you take time to mentally stabilize.

Personally, i don’t care about changing the minds of others. Voicing my concern is all I’d do. If they don’t appreciate it, that’s on them. If my concern falls on deaf ears, there’s nothing else to be done.

I believe that someone who lives a higher-self life would view entertainment as a way to pass time, as well as lift one’s spirits. Entertainment is meant to entertain, appreciate the natural art of it. There is nothing low conscious about wanting or even needing entertainment. I guess entertainment can be a trap of the low conscious self, but someone high conscious might still choose to seek out entertainment. Not everyone high conscious is always working. In fact it’s probably unhealthy to live without some kind of down time.

I think stress is normal. Stress comes from stuff like expectations and demands. It sounds like your job is high stress. dealing with stress I think is about acceptance. I guess not just that, but if you have stress it’s better to accept it than to think that it’s bad or wrong. Stress is normal. What you need is endurance. And like someone else said, an outlet in your downtime. I’m currently unemployed because every job I’ve had was too stressful. I’m currently waiting for a job coach, hoping they’ll be able to talk to me about this stuff and help out. I don’t know if I can find a job that’s stress free for me, so I expect needing to learn to cope. If you want to keep your job, you’ll need too learn to cope with the stress. You won’t magically make the job less stressful, but maybe a better perspective will help manage the stress. It sounds like you’re reacting negatively to work related stress, making the normal demands of the job highly stressful. I encourage you to try to be more accepting of the demands of the job, and to try to deal with it without making the stress worse. stress isn’t a bad thing, and it’s natural. Dealing with stress is about coping. If you can, practice enduring the stress and p preventing it from compounding. i wish i had more to say. Good luck in figuring this out!
