  1. Well, there is the organ harvesting dilemma. If a doctor has 5 five patients each needing a different organ to survive and a healthy person walks in, would the doctor be justified in killing that person to harvest their organs and save the 5 other ones?
  2. @Bobby_2021 I think you would be terribly disappointed by how quantifiable and mechanical human emotions are. Robert Plutchik has one of the most scientifically backed emotional model out there and it's based on just 8 main emotions that can be further divided into more precise ones. This one here has 96 different ones From there all you have to do is run experiments with weights and predictions to fine-tune the model and probably predict human behaviour. Like you could do it with exams and test how much each emotions affect testing scores. Or use something like Neuralink to track emotional responses in brains in real time over weeks/months and then at that point humans will be reverse engineered basically. @BlueOak I would argue that AI models today can already receive infinity moreso than humans can. GPT-4 can read at about 3000 WPM for example whereas humans only 200-400 wpm. Also worth noting that AI can "cheat" by having the smartest, most well-funded humans on earth label the data for it and help it with cognition. After doing more research I would now argue that not only is AGI inevitable but good chances it will happen around 2027.
  3. Good breakdown on how AI is gonna reach AGI, by doing automated AI research on itself The researched mentioned Leopold Aschenbrenner has a good point that a human thinks really at most at like 100/token per minute. Even if you believe that AIs are incredibly stupid that doesn't really matter when they're gonna be able to compute stuff at millions of token per minute and above and basically reverse engineer the universe. Incredibly fascinating stuff. This is God having pity on us and giving us a handout; humans were never gonna figure out much about infinity fast enough to solve our issues.
  4. I mean same. I'm not a massive fan of casual sex though and I'm not stable enough to date a woman I would be really attracted to so mostly in "monk mode." Trying to quit porn and channel that energy into building my life which is half-working so let's see where I end up in 6 months.
  5. Can you explain your opinion here?
  6. Meetup.com or group projects is a good way to meet people based on common interest/goals. Randomly going to a club and trying to make friends with strangers is one of the hardest ways I can think of.
  7. I don't know what you consider his area of expertise but he said that humans communicate with reality very slowly and that's probably why AI would get bored of us. Neuralink will allow us to communicate much faster potentially a few hundred bits per second which is insane. If you consider how fast humans process things within 10 seconds like at best you're able to consciously compute 2-3 things. Which for a reality that's potentially infinite that's quite slow.
  8. @Davino I've felt something like that before while on shrooms; like I really enjoyed my problems and was happy I was going through them and the perfect world of the awakened state was boring.
  9. @Scholar How can you say Elon doesn't say smart things? That's a near psychotic take. Clearly there are many facets to human beings and he could use some maturity in some departments but in terms of actual impact to the human race he's involved in most fields that humanity is making progress in this century. I think his treatment of his daughter is awful and some of his takes make him seem like an anime character but you'd have a hard time making the argument that he's not one of the smartest and most effective humans alive today. He's already revolutionized the car industry and soon enough the medical industry and you could argue capitalism and civilization itself with Optimus robots coming soon.
  10. Fair enough, I hope you feel better and you're able to create the reality you're looking for. @Dodo I'm curious how your money situation is now 8 years later. I'm struggling with money atm too, it sucks and limits like 95% of your options
  11. I like it. If you're looking for feedback idk much about music but there was a voice crack in there and you could do some tuning on your voice and it will be a bit more refined. Keep it up though and post the next version, looking forward to it!
  12. You kind of are though. If you believe that your actions have no effect on others then that paradoxically leads you straight into victim thinking and depression. If you choose to accept that you have responsibility in life then it does lead to guilt for bad actions but also for hope that you can influence others positively and thus also yourself and your life. This is coming from also a depressed person but powerlessness is the most depressing thing I could ever imagine. Creating a worthwhile life unfortunately takes a while but you do have the power to do it. And you know that because you could use the opposite power of destruction to achieve much quicker results, not even in the case of suicide but think about neighbourhood vandalism and how quickly that would have a negative effect on people's realities.
  13. That's a good point, I like your answer. Basically the ying/yang or contrast. Gotta be broke to enjoy being spiritually rich.
  14. My biggest reason for not killing myself are the loved ones I’d hurt otherwise it woulda been done a long time ago. I think life can be worth it though but my life personally has felt like overcoming weaknesses and shortcomings and been mostly unpleasant but hopefully once I self-actualize enough of my limitations it’ll be worth it. On the topic of health issues though we are about to have the greatest revolution in healthcare in human history in the next few decades so you got that to look forward to @Bandman. Also soon a great leap in porn and AI girlfriend tech so I mean it’s looking good for you bro
  15. Yeah I would guess that death is like dreaming. Sounds more fun than real life tbh idk why we bothered coming here as incarnate people; it's pretty dreadful.
  16. I haven't watched it fully yet and it's a crazily interesting phenomenon. Personally, so far, I lean towards multiple personality disorder/Dissociative Identity Disorder. Just going by the story so Tristan was a 22 year old man who basically lost his body to a female soul that then took it over and changed his gender so she could be comfortable. Wouldn't that be like psychopathic theft?
  17. I'm a massive believer that humanity will undergo a massive shift up in consciousness with these models. So much of discussions I see online are arbitrary but when you have your personal assistant that you trust that will walk you through your errors in your own cognitive flexibility then it'll be much harder to ignore our own biases. Imagine if every citizen was able to think from this perspective. Our political divide would collapse overnight.
  18. @Leo Gura Definitely Michael Sartain would be a good one. Any of the other guys too like Owen Cook, Max has his own podcast too.
  19. Depends on what you're trying to master. Making authentic intimate bonds with other people? Sleeping with them as fast as possible? Have fun conversations?
  20. @TheUnknown Plenty of qualified people argue heavily against porn use. One is Dr Trish Leigh here who seems to be a neuroscientist as well as people like Andrew Huberman. I'm not the most productive person in general(I think due to ADHD) but when I watch a lot of porn it's easily for me to burn entire days watching videos then watching porn + fap then taking a nap and repeating this 2-3 times a day getting literally 0 done. I've been finding truth in not letting myself do it and then doing way more work because I actually have the dopamine to be able to.
  21. @NoSelfSelf What do you mean by game in this context?
  22. Hard to say what video games will look like in 10 years, I would be so curious to peak at a crystal ball. Economy is so bad now that maybe crypto games will be popular.
  23. @bambi Have you done another line/taken another drink since you were warned not to? It's fascinating to me that you decided to venture into the hell realms, I've been for a little bit but it was too terrifying to me. God is definitely capable of torturing itself, look at it happening all over the world today. It's hard to explain why that would be the case and if those consciousnesses have consented to it like some spiritualists claim but seems very unlikely. Religions like Hinduism are basically about how our existence is meant to be all about pain and suffering until we somehow repent and get the privilege of not existing anymore.
  24. I would guess that your psyche has been traumatized from this and now withholds deep feeling of love due to fear of loss. I have something similar, not sure how to fix it but by understanding it should get better.
