If you search the forum you will find some topics on dark room meditations / dmt experiences. This really intrigues me. I heard a youtube video on london real about this guy. He said that external "medicine" will be considered poison first by the body and will reject it, until it know that it want it. Eastern medicine is all about giving the body the right conditions to create it´s own medicine so it wont reject it and handle it better. (while in the west we just add what we think the body needs directly) Inducing 5 meo dmt experiences in a natural way should give a completely different and much stronger experience. I don´t dare do it unfortunately. Maybe at some other point in my life. Thanks for the link! -

@ivankiss Everything goes in cycles, the pendulum swing will swing back. Destruction is part of creation. Nature is the most vicious thing: everything is set to kill you but it is also the most beautiful and perfect thing. Everything is and isnt. Don´t worry what you are experiencing, it is a inevitable part of your greater journey, just as your difficult trip was. Don´t worry, let go, sit down and listen. -

I´d start by getting enlightened first and foremost. I mean if you´re gonna sell something you need to know what you´re selling right? ;-) Ask yourself why you are starting the channel and go from there. If you don´t have a true motive and calling it´s probably not gonna work out (it might be huge "success" but it won´t make your life any better) -

Along those words it seems like you are saying that also a turtle and a flower has an ego since it has a "will" to live? not sure a will to live = Ego. A will to live is an aspect of the ego since its reality and reality seemings "wants" to live/exist. Also I was semiclose to physically death and what happened was that my ego went away and I became like a machine and slowly and methodically did everything "I" needed to do to survive. My ego was freaking out and Im glad it didnt lead -

The way I see it is that "I" experience the brain that produce thoughts. The error is when "I" tricks myself into believing I am these thoughts and so the ego is created which is an illusion. You can undo that trick and thus still experience the thought but "you" know that it is not you who is doing the thinking... You could also say the Ego exist and you might not make it dissapear, instead you won the poker game by raising cause you know the ego is bluffing. In a way you are still doing the thinking since you are everything and nothing. Similar to: You have free will and you don´t have it. Reality is an illusion and it´s real. It´s impossible to get if you aren´t truly enlightened....and I far from get it so don´t listen to me ;-) so all this discussion is kinda useless but still fun in a similar way which is useful -

I was waiting for a friend and realized there were ants at my feet. I started observing them, how they worked, what the heck they were doing and it got just more and more intriguing until I was completely still and caught up with everything that was going on, don´t know how long I was sitting there. It was amazing. -

....oh nevermind, the scientific study is here: https://www.liebertpub.com/doi/full/10.1089/acm.2014.0157 -

wow that´s so interesting, Im usually quite sceptic about these things but this guy seems legit. This is TV so obviously extremly subjective and try to shove only one perspective as they are very unscientific. Otherwise they would have done a blind study, ie the patients would not know he was there and so on. Not that it would disprove if it didnt work since there is nothing to say that the energy needs a visual and emotional connection for it to work. This is the uselessness of science ;-) BTW have anyone felt what people call "psi balls" ie when you put your hands close together you feel like there is a magnet there pulling them together or apart. Or some feel heat? I Do and it´s quite interesting...still not sure if it´s my mind making it up...But I can´t do it with my feets or any other way, only my hands..... -

It´s not that they bring you happiness, its more like you create happiness from them Similarly if you love a person it´s not that the person brings love to you, you create your love via this person. -

The most amazing thing by far is the fact that "I" am aware of that I am aware of stuff. That amazement and fascination have been a force in my life for as long as I can remember. BTW @Preetom Nice "analysis" or what I should call it of @Mikael89 example -

This is a forum section for spirituality and partying is not really part of that discussion. Dancing and traveling we can have a discussion about thou! But me, yea I love all three of them. Usually go to underground techno and trance parties to dance to the neverending beat. Which in some way is healing and "spiritual" Humans have singed and danced since the dawn of time -

I like God as well. Western folks need to retake this word and update it to what it actually means, cause now it´s like a dirty world all messed up with meanings of what it is not. Kinda like Gay used to be a bad condescending word but now it´s "retaken" cause we know better and it´s a "clean word" again. (at least here in sweden the swedish word for gay is like this, dont know if its transferrable to the american word) If we take a new name we discard the history behind the first name, which can be good if its something completely different but in this case it´s not. God is non dual infinity and reality, but people have misunderstood. It´s time we give praise to everyone in our history who got it right and correct those who was wrong by retaking, reusing and updating the world God Otherwise churches might keep on doing the horrible things they do and teach in "god´s" name. -

No, all I am saying is that Depression was the main reason / catalyst / trigger that Eckhart realized what he actually is and got enlightened. If Leo got enlightened it would probably be easier for him to relate to people who does not have depression in their life and want to get enlightened (as I assume Leo doesnt have that deep of depression) It´s like in Eckart case depression was the main tool his situation presented him with to get enlightened. Everyone are in different situations and have different tools. If a person with a similar toolset as me gets enlightened I would tend to relate to that person more.....Maybe? The question is if the prior life and experiences of an enlightened person makes any difference. The Ego is gone so in that way, no it doesnt. But That prior life does have memories that still serves the egoless user. You can remember the feeling of being a child that is loved by their parent, but you cannot remember being neglected by your parents, so even if you are enlightened you couldn´t relate to being neglected as a child and thus not in the same way relate to people who have been neglected as kids. I don´t know, these are just my thoughts and probably not real but hey, this is a discussion forum so -

@Tony 845 I don´t see him as a lucky bastard since he had to go through a long deep depression ;-) Feel like Eckard has all the knowledge of being fully enlightened but since he got there via a depression maybe he can´t relate to a non depressed human and how he/she can become enlightened....I mean being enlightened doesn´t give you access to other peoples experience right? Also even if his book is quite simple to read, it is still very profound, im gonna reread it for sure. @Joseph Maynor I cannot meditate when lying down. My problem is that to have a focused mind you need to be relaxed and alert at the same time. Don´t focus or pay attention on something, you need to "rest your awareness" on it. Only with a meditiation pose can my body and mind do this. If I lay down I loose focus and my mind wanders. Even walking is better for meditation than lying down. But Im happy you found what works for you! -

Amazing. And so the process of self recognition is set in motion -
luckieluuke replied to sarapr's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@sarapr If you are trying to persuade your friend you are trying to persuade yourself. I get the same thing, wanting to explain to people nearby me but mostly it´s not that I want to explain just that I need someone to talk to. If you really want to change the world start with the man in the mirror as Micheal Jackson would put it -

Oh I wish it was so simple to forgive someone, just say it. But it´s not or you´r lying to yourself, even more importantly never lie to yourself. I wish I could forget a certain person in my life but I cannot. When ive grown I will. Even thou "I" did nothing wrong and I was painfully exploited and used. Thing Is that I create the pain and I have not fully come to terms with my own shadow...so In a way I am not ready to forgive that person because I am not ready to love and forgive myself. Now this is the tricky part, how to love yourself unconditionally despite all the stuff I don´t like about "myself" Leo had a really nice episode on love, with a really nice exercise I do from time to time, something like: Imagine something external that brings you love, feel the love inside and spread it out to everything around you, Feel the love everywhere and bring it back inside you and let it expand. But also be honest with yourself and deal with any trauma you have and become aware of your true nature. -

I would do vipassana until you feel you have a calm mind and then proceed to self enquiry. Althou Vipassana is split up in achieving a calm mind and then move onto the "real" Vipassana ....Not sure you should try to squeeze three meditation practices into one hour? Personally I just feel like my first priority is to calm my mind and sometimes that´s all I do. If I achieve a calm mind I might proceed to another technique such as vipassana or self enquiry. Mind you Im not very far on my path so I can only offer my perspective and not alot of wisdom....yet ;-) -

@ValiantSalvatore Sorry your post is to random to follow easily enough. Seems you have alot of chaos in your head. Maybe stop thinking and practice letting go and love and focus on incorporation of your experiences. Happy hunting! -

@ivankiss Sounds awesome! It´s probably nothing but just a word of caution since you said you were fasting: Keep check of your BMI + weight and that you eat enough. Depriving the body of sleep, food etc can produce "spiritual" or extraordinary states. Have had two friends in serious eating disorders and it´s horrible so just want to check -
