  1. @Preetom I´m not saying that they don´t happen for no reason. That would be an extremely weird thing to believe hahaha I don´t know why you would think I or anyone would believe that. All I am saying is that I relate to the experience you describe and in my case I believe it is panic attacks which are a very common thing for people to have so I (and possibly you?) are not alone. I also described the way I deal with it. The purpose of my answer was to give you some insight and maybe something to explore if you didn´t already know.
  2. @How to be wise Thanks. Part of me agree with you and part don´t and I was playing the latter now I´ve come to realize that what I once thought was true is not (because there is no duality) But it is true at my stage of development. Kindof like people need pointers when they have low conspicuousness which are true at that stage, then when you develop those pointers are no longer true.
  3. @Preetom I have that sometimes. Think it´s common panic attacks. Usually it goes away when I meditate and explore the the sensation
  4. @How to be wise I see what you´re getting at. And maybe in an enlightened position this is true, I dont know. But most of us are not enlightened and I feel there is much danger in that idea, in fact one of the most insane and dangerous idea´s iv´e heard in a while: Because then why bother killing animals before slaughter? why not start carving into them and take what you want when they are alive? That would be a great way to keep meat fresh. You just carve out the meat that isnt needed like limbs and cheeks but be careful not to let the animal die. That way you always get fresh meat by keeping it alive as long as possible. Or why not create a animal that only has fat and no limbs or mouth, you can inject food into one big blob of flesh - no problem It´s all ok with the animal after all. As long as we think it´s ok it´s ok?
  5. @How to be wise Do animals feel pain? afterall that is what we name the "mechanism" that makes them not jump into icy water or run away from forest fire. It is something that tells them it is not good, something they don´t want to experience. If they don´t feel pain that´s great news to the meat industry! Similarly if a child touches a flame it experience something that tells them not to do that again. How do they experience this negative thing that pushes evolution forward in a non painful way? You say how do we know a child experiences pain, well how do you know it doesn´t?
  6. @outlandish Interesting and thanks for the tip, seems like a really good read! I also get the feeling that science gets a bad rep for only relying on logic and measurements. There is so much creativity that pushes science forward. @ivankiss You´re completely right that consciousness uses science to explore itself. Consciousness uses the mind to explore itself and mind uses science to explore itself. So ofcourse science can get insights into consciousness, only not in the same way as the mind does. I get the feeling that Leo and many of his "followers" on this forum looks down upon science. Maybe because Leo used to be scientific and realized it´s limitations so it´s kinda personal for him and so he, in comparison to other things, talks down on science. I love science Also shoutout to Leo who made me see science in another light and educated me on it´s limitiations. Thanks!
  7. I feel like science is similar to that part of self inquiry when you ask yourself, Am I my body? : no....Am I my feelings? : no....Am I my thoughts? : no....am I.... Current science will keep asking: what is the smallest building block of the universe? how does material stuff exist? Science has been obsessed by this question in a similar way that I as a person am obsessed with "who/what am i?" I don´t think science is as blind to it´s own illusion as one might think cause it keeps asking these question and with quantum mechanics science understand that it´s not what it thought it was. When science has emptied it questions it will realize that itself does not exist, science does not exist, reality exists. Then science can start the journey of answering what is science and well be on track!
  8. I have some experiences with it and I highly recommend it. It can be addictive thou so be very careful not to do it often. I reccomend taking very little, like 0.05 - 0.1 each half our 2-4 times. Sit down and meditate in silent darkness. Focus on breath and / or just being aware. It´s really nice since it doesnt create hallucinations and it feels much cleaner than say, mushrooms. The mind is more clear. If you get anxious and freak out I suggest watching a movie of some nature. The ketamine makes you feel part of the screen and you forget your body. Music doenst sound as amazing as other psychedelics.
  9. @AlphaAbundance wtf? have you not drunk water in 5days? and a going for 31 days? That might actually fucking kill you! Unless you really know what you are doing here I urge you to stop this foolishness! If you want to explore fasting for spiritual purposes I won´t stop you, but please do it with supervision of a doctor or something...
  10. I heard Rupert Spira say the other day, something along the lines of: "for now consider that free will is a thing. What you should do with it is feel your connectedness with everything and act on it"
  11. Interesting question. Seems to me like the brain is something we experience, and the EGO is a biproduct of that. Heard recently by rupert spira that being borned enlightened is possible, but he had no idea if anyone have become born enlightened. He proceeded with saying that that person would not be of any use to society because he/she could not relate to humans....
  12. Buddha insisted on calling his way the middle way. Lying down you relax to much, stand up and you can´t relax enough. Don´t focus on your breath to hard and don´t let your mind wander - Relax your attention.
  13. Just saw an AI beat a professional player in my favorite game: starcraft. AI has beaten chess, go players and other computergames but Starcraft is the most complex one and it´s the final test for an AI in human games. It´s fascinating to see an AI make moves that we don´t understand the propose of because noone else has done them. Until later in the game when we humans understand it and it teaches us how to play better. It is the master of our game, the student has become the master. But how is this possible? The way it learns is that it teaches itself. But how to do that? how do you get better at chess when you only have yourself? (in this case learning from humans is way to slow to play against. The AI played 200 years of human realtime games in a few weeks) The answer is so simple and obvious: The AI was divided, fragmented into parts that played against "eachother". What was learned was added into the one AI program that became better. I can´t help but think of non duality or "God". Maybe God does the same in order to change / get better / increase complexity; Only by dividing itself into an unknown other can it play with itself. This is us, we are divided from God as a momentarily single perspective, our human perspective. Maybe this is what life is, we are the teacher and the student. What strikes me is the simplicity. Ofcourse you need to split yourself in order to experience yourself. How can it be otherwise? There is no other way for the AI to learn and become better than it´s creators?! We created an intelligence that teaches us. It´s like a 2nd split. First God created us to learn about itself and then secondly we create the AI to learn about ourselves and our reality. From our perspective one might think that we cannot know god and unity since we only experience one perspective of God. But we can know god. Momentarily or even permanently through enlightenment and that is amazing! In a similar way maybe a AI can know Human experience? I have only ideas to entertain myself and just thinking out loud here
  14. @now is forever Who said psychedelics are the holy grail? who are you trying to convince?
  15. @Salvijus No no, i´ve got a much better idea: lets divide actualized.org into those who thinks psychedelics are good for spiritual work and those who don´t. That way we can feel better about ourselves cause each group can say that they are better than the "other". It´s like a win win deal folks! ;-) + we don´t need to do any hard work anymore, just loose ourselves in one upping the other group. It would be awesome if we could make some kind of crusades as well.
  16. @Aakash I know I know! We create some arbitary meaning around some arbitary idea and take it as truth because we say so... and then we fight who is closest to that idea! Ready, get set, Go!
  17. @Arhattobe Im not drawing any conclusions but I do see a possibility that Martin might have had an awakening experience rushed on by psychedlics, one he was not ready for. Like in many cases psychedilcs can be a catalyst of stuff. If that would be the case then he might experience no sleep like if he was awakened but he is not so he suffers from it. Just an idea to contribute to the topic and I dont think its ridiculous Please explain why its ridiculous, Im not very far down my awakening path and you say you are so you might know better. Please enlighten me
  18. Rupert spiras beautiful video on how he never sleeps in the same way as "normal people": But from my own experiences with psychedilcs im leaning towards @Arhattobe idea. I do think an unawakened mind interpret psychedelic experiences and twists them.... Really interested to hear your experiences with psychedelics. especially if you have had them earlier in life when not awakened and the difference?
  19. @Telepresent Oh im very aware this is just for fun, hence the titel "a rant" and my comment: And thanks for steering the conversation back to track. It seems quite common for people to first try to destroy an idea instead of just playing with it, even when asked to (Creative people seems to generally play first) My Idea is a bit similar to your alien idea in a way. Guess there is alot of talk about us living in a matrix like simulation. Thinking about it...if we create AI that can know human experience and God create human that can know Gods experience and teach itself about itself then, what to say There is something that created God? Maybe it goes back like that into infinity? Not sure if you can get "above" nothingness thou if that is what God is... @ivankiss Interesting. But we do tend to divide and group stuff together, human creations for example into: art (for enjoyment) and technology (for survival) which can be subdivided, and some stuff is inbetween. Otherwise we cannot communicate well, as all is nature and nothing needs to be said. Similarly the creation of AI is a subdivision of technology that is completely new...similarly to human mind is a completely new technology of reality. Guess all I am saying is that it is a big shift, something big is happening.
  20. Thanks, cool video I do actually know quite a bit how these systems work, been playing a bit with them myself a few years ago. This AI that beat starcraft players is obviously very basic in comparison to a human. But very complex if you compare it with an AI from 10 years ago. Maybe it´s more like a amoeba in comparison to a human mind when you think of complexity, still it´s a start and I wouldn't downplay the significance. But that´s another discussion ;-)
  21. @Cocolove Thanks! maybe i´ve been taking it to slowly then. Anyway thats what im doing next. Exciting!
  22. @ajasatya Thanks, yea it´s fun and exciting isnt it! What you say is true including that it´s a technical detail. AI does need a very strict environment at the moment... But the new general AI are handling increasingly more open environments. They started making the AI play simpler games with strong restrictions such as super mario, quake or chess. Go was harder because it has less restrictions and Starcraft has few restrictions, so many possibilitis that it is the hardest game for an AI to master. But now it has. What´s next?
  23. @ShugendoRa Hi im I´ve also started Kriya yoga a few weeks back and am doing the first 6 lessons / exercises, Im currently trying to locate the chakras. Basically ivé started a new lesson per week - thats the rate Im going at. I havent had much sucess with lesson 7 - seing light and feeling the third eye chakra. I found it hard to concentrate on....more difficult than my breath since I hardly feel it, whatever it is. @Sahil Pandit Sounds like after the 7th there is the "kriya initiation" Im thinking i should try and get at least there pretty swiftly cause then the "real" kriya is taught. But seems like I should be going slower? Maybe this should be posted in the Kriya thread. It´s quite hard to follow that thread thou, would be easier if it was divided into how far you are. I need to read so many posts until I find stuff at my level...
  24. @alankrillin This is very simple: If you have 100 people an 1 commit suicide (or crash their cars as you commented) its 1% If you have 200 people and 2 commit suicide/crash its still 1% So nothing has changed in the culture or anything to affect the rate of suicide/car incidents. The only difference is the amount of people. So if you are a newspaper, or a source that sells news to newspaper you might say the the amount of suicide has doubled. People will read that headline and hence you get money, people wont read it if it says the rate of suicide is % the same. Their story is not a lie, its not even a damned lie, its statistics and with it you can tell any story youd like to manipulate.
  25. I hear from different places that so and so many people are commiting suicide like its a epedemic. Truth is when I look for stats how many % it seems it stays the same. So more ppl commit suicide cause we are more people on the planet. Just simple scare tactics. Thing is it´s hard to find good stats cause bad quality stats sells more ie, stats made and twisted to prove a point. If Sadguru was right, shouldnt we see a significant % increase? There is a saying here in sweden: "There are lies, there are damned lies and there is statistics" In a similar way people like to shout out how fucked the world is when in fact % wise there have never been so few war, so little starvation as we have now. @alankrillin stats above is a perfect example. The big thing to report is that death by accidents have almost halved the last 15 years. Instead they focus on that suicide has become the second most common reason. Its only gone up from 8 to 8.7 thats nothing! If you look att the graph below you will see in the 1990 it was 11. But they cut at the lowerst time, in 99 to dramtize the effect. This is all to scare people. Reports such as these dont care about truth, only to produce "clickbate" news to get money and in doing so spread fear cause that seems to drive people. Sigh I get kinda worked up about stuff like this. If you´re interested read about a wonderful swedish guy: hans rosling This shows the trickery of the above post and also that sadguru is wrong: % wise there is no big increase in suicide. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epidemiology_of_suicide#/media/File:Suicide-deaths-per-100000-trend.jpg
