@White: Good one - obviously not everyone ;-) Also, I can observe that I was just in the middle of giving advice, lol. So, I better go and do some laundry now ;-)
-
Oh yes, communication! Such an important topic here in the forum! Especially when it comes to giving advice! Someone told me an important sentence, which I will never forget: "People tend to give you advice based rather on their own story, not necessarily taylored to how you actually feel." I also learned that if I find myself giving advice, I can use that to realize that there is something deep inside me that I haven't worked through. If I write sentences like: "You have to do this or that" - I can realize that "I actually have to do this or that". It also helps me to see where other people still have issues that they haven't worked through... (this is very helpful to not get upset). I'm not sure where I learned this, but I learned it somewhere on the way. Maybe through a combination of self-inquiry with Byron Katie's work (turning things around) and insights I had when watching Leo's video (e.g. "All critizism is untainable" and "How you lie").

@Emerald: Would you mind sharing your source/the reference for this?
-
OK, OK - breathing helps me when I get frustrated! ;-) Everything will be fine! We will all die one day and it won't matter if we understand models or not.
-
When you=I can laugh about ourselves - see?
-
I apply the same strategy when I read my own comment before posting it ?
-
@White I'm trying to communicate how I dare to read any comments in this forum. It helps to read between the lines and it's mind blowing - have you tried?
-
And this one: "I gotta learn how to use models without letting them use me..." Hilarius, isn't it? ??
-
I wonder if it helps anything, but let me tell you how I read this: "If I don't know the limitations of Green, is spiral dynamics or any model that correlates going to be any use to me?" Can you laugh about it now?
-
Sometimes I wonder - do you guys reflect on what you have written? And yes, I apologize to ask such mean questions full with lots of ego, lol ?
-
OK - so maybe you can't skip a stage but potentially go through them much faster. So you think green is dangerous? Could you be reflecting something into your statement here? Why do you think green is so dangerous? ?
-
Good one! I would also dare to say that it is possible to skip stages that way. Imagine growing up with yellow/turquoise parents ?
-
Sorry you guys - I will stop moralizing now ?
-
hehe, this is a bit provocative: I'm delighted that you can see this Leo! Otherwise, I'm afraid there wouldn't be a reason for me to come back here. Hmm, is it a good idea to post this now? Let me think... actually, I think it can't hurt. Can it? If someone can escape, it's you! I'm sure...

Here is an example for patriarchy from a German children's book - the pictures say it all:

I love the concept of Spiral Dynamics. Can we discuss how we can all become more green, yellow and turquoise? (I know the world doesn't need anything and we don't need to do anything either ).... BUT, I'm currently reading a book by Bea Johnson "Zero waste home" - and it is very inspiring! It's about minimalism, how we can produce less waste and live a happier life. I'm also learning about social entrepreneurship and would encourage everyone to do so. There are more and more start-ups in Europe using this kind of "business" concept putting people and environment first -instead of maximizing profits.

@Leo Gura Thank you for not resting in your spiritual and/or cosmic consciousness for too long without taking earthly action ;-) Love this thread! We shouldn't forget to mention here what is written down in sooo many children's books that is "stage blue". If anyone needs a new life purpose, become a yellow/turquoise children book writer, seriously! It's unbelievable... no, it's not of course. It's all how it's supposed to be right now.

@Samra Your boss is blue and purple? That will be interesting to see if the app will help!

Enlightened people appear to think that there is nothing that needs to be done. Well, if they happen to think... lol.
-
Brilliant - if you want to pursue a life with a purpose. Useless - if you want to pursue enlightenment. Lol.

This is a nice zoom-out into the universe and back plus zoom-into the body clip, perfect for meditation/contemplation :-) -
I love the Super-Mario analogy, @Leo Gura! So, let's say that Super-Mario can actually realize that he is "being played" in a videogame (isn't that what we are doing here by self-actualizing ourselves?). He stops following the "orders" of the players (=society?) who sit in front of the screen. So, we Super-Marios stop being victims of the society. But how will this story end? What will all the Super-Marios do?
-
I think he has cracked several jackpots already!

@WaterfallMachine I like to think that way: if a person feels uncomfortable around someone with a disability - it's their problem. They are reflecting their insecurity and that they are not capable to handle it. Or they just never learned (e.g., by watching good role models) how to handle it. So, instead of getting angry about it or letting them pull you down or feeling embarrassed, one can always choose to feel a bit sorry for them instead. I give them a smile instead of lecturing them. They simply get my understanding - because everyone is doing the best they can, to their abilities. And I know where they are coming from, I know that all too well actually.

@Samra That sounds super interesting! Especially the differences between the different countries... Will anything change in your team now as a result of these tests?
