"I" am not enlightened but in theory you're correct. It's like having a wrench. You use it but don't mistake yourself for being only it. You see the bigger picture EVEN if you do use it. -

Some "gurus" needed communication classes after enlightenment. It seems to me that after such happening you need to learn to act as an ego. You use ego to function and think when it's required - the thinking doesn't control you anymore. The best part of it though is that you can have total freedom with your ego - just for fun. -

That's so amazing, right?! "I" used to mock the bible and Christianity but Jesus knew his stuff It is also amazing to see how twisted the truth got after centuries. The best thing is reading some spiritual texts and be like: "Damn! This sounds familiar!" Also I wonder - does any of you have a feeling - when somebody is talking about "their" life and arguments and so forth - that you laugh to yourself that thankfully all of it is behind "you" and seems otherworldy? -

I laughed so hard while reading it pure non-dual gold -

Imagine an ocean for a second. Does the ocean mind that the waves are higher one day and lower on another? It stays an ocean. Be the ocean and nothing will be able to disturb your peace my friend. When in doubt - you always have yourself (your incarnations on this forum :P) Sending love! -

Try to quiet down. Meditate and observe your thoughts without clinging to them. Also - while doing your university degree - do one thing at a time. Don't trouble yourself with any outcomes and past. Just be here - do what you're doing. If thoughts or weird sensations arise during learning - don't try to stop them - instead take a 2 minute-break and observe them in silence. Continue learning - knowing that you feel them. They will pass like rain on a cloudy day -

It seems to "me" that you're currently experiencing "ego backlash". Thoughts which became a part of you were discovered as illusory. Now ego tries to create different patterns to bind you with. I experience it constantly and it takes some time. Treat your thoughts and compulsions as clouds in the sky. They appear but you don't focus on them. The same with triggers. Thoughts are generally connected to feelings and all of it is creating a sense of "urgency" - need to focus on something. Instead it is helpful to just sit awhile - before doing any of those things - and just be. In time less "stressors" will come your way. Even a story - which seems not dangerous - may create some need or an idea. Those needs and ideas - if not treated lightly - will definitely produce suffering. -

Our friend Nahm has a point. Seeing yourself in others makes for a quite different experience. You are aware enough to see that what you hear is just small-talk but it is always good to approach "others" as small kids (not in a egoistic - "you are worse" - way). You know that they don't know any better and just don't see the bigger picture. You gently pat them on the head and enjoy the experience of witnessing you all around. Nice topic! -

Any way - which helps to dissolve the layers of illusion - is alright with me. It's best to allow what helps. We are only trying to help and my last comment serves only as an off topic observation. I really appreciate your insight my friend. Balance is very useful. Our minds like to objectify the world and debates bring us closer to dissolving the small, illusory self through understanding. As you very wisely stated - it gives you insights on the matter - and - coupled with silence, meditation, inquiry and prayer - makes for a wonderful merging into the source. "I" find "myself" to be the same - monk-like type lately. Some breakthroughs brought me there. I also understand that over-thinkers need to be approached differently. Awesome! Sending love! -

Off topic - It will be hilarious to finally see everything as one and the futile attempt to ask yourself how it is to be yourself -

In reality enlightenment cannot be put into words. I may tell you what enlightenment is not: - a state, - a superpower, - a feeling, - a mystical vision, - a nihilistic, uncaring view, - an opinion, - a belief. "I" am on a path myself, so I have no idea what enlightenment truly means. However - in layman's terms - it is a shift in perspective. You no longer associate yourself with anything - you ARE everything. See it as just being a screen. You are a screen. When the movie plays (life) the screen changes but is not affected by the movie. Actors come and go, drama happens, great things happen, some tragedies. Then the movie ends. Screen stays the same all the time. Screen is one with the movie but is not attaching to anything in the movie itself. It knows that all of it is just an illusion. This analogy was presented many times by Rupert Spira and for me is very simple and insightful. I would suggest just abandoning overthinking and enjoying silence. You can't figure out what TRULY enlightenment is with thought. Thought uses concepts. Enlightenment is something much, much deeper. Sending love! -

Every moment is special in itself. Thoughts create a reality for you. Don't trust them. There is no point to life but that also gives you total freedom to just be. You're no longer bound by "the importance of doing something". Look how many people wander this world thinking that what they're doing is the most crucial thing in existence. They argue, point fingers, step on others. It may seem that you should crave for such life. A life of purpose and goals. The only goal for you should be just experiencing now without minds interference. Then even the simplest thing may put a smile on your face. Acknowledge also how easy and simple your life becomes. You don't need to be anybody, manage someone's expectations, follow any made up rules. You have less responsibilities, tasks and it all just comes and goes. Society is based on being busy. People seem to rate you according to it. Then - with your deep understanding - you may do whatever you want - with no expected outcomes. Sending love!
