@7oo13ad @charlie2dogs First of all thanks. I'm going through a critical time in my life right now. My story is very long and hard to explain, so I will not bore you with it. But, in short, I've pretty much lost everything and I have to start from ground zero. I have to discover what I want in my life and what I wanna do with it. I am adamant on meditating and doing consciousness work. I'm also going to a therapist right now (Mostly because I had a really bad childhood and I went through things I'm sure none of my friends did. also, I'm still having family problems which I intend to solve with the help of the therapist)

@7oo13ad you would says so even if all my friends know what they wanna do with their life and that they have all the things I wish I had?

@ICSounds Well, I study mechanical engineering and I just finished my bachelor degree. In order to start master, I have to take a comprehensive exam next week. This exam is taken only once a year and I have to get a good grade to be accepted in a good university. So now I am so anxious about this exam cause if I don't get a desirable result, I'll lose a whole year. And I just don't want to lose another year. And also it's just that my classmates have either already started master or got admission from foreign universities to study master next year. I don't wanna be the only one left. This has put a lot of pressure on me. I don't how can I face my classmates if I don't get a good result in this exam. I even have thought about never talking to them if my results wouldn't be good enough. When I think about the situation, it just makes me feel so embarrassed that I just wanna go under a blanket and hide myself from everyone I know. Well, that's my problem. Just to add, Since I live in a 3rd world country, my goal is to get an admission to study PhD abroad (US, Canada, Europe) and then stay in that country. You can see why I don't wanna lose another year...

For those of who are meditating, how long it took for you to see its benefits? What kind of benefits did you get? In what ways your life has changed since meditating? I know Leo has talked a lot about it, but I wanted to know about first hand experiences from other people. Thanks in advance

I am 23 years old. I study mechanical engineering and I just finished my bachelor degree. In order to start master, I have to take a comprehensive exam in 30 days. I've been studying for about 2 months for this exam and I've finished most of the materials once. In this last month, I have to review all of the lessons. My goals for this month: 1) Study at least 8 hours per day 2) No TV 3) Playing with phone and browsing the web: Only at night 4) No sexual thoughts during the day! (They take away my focus sometimes for hours and it also drains my energy) So I'm using this journal to keep myself in check. I truly hope it works.

@FocusOnTruth Thanks a lot. I'll look. At this point in my life, I'm working on success with my studies, career and my psychology. I'd rather have a healthy psychology than be enlightened but still have a crap psychology. It's the choice I made for now. But maybe it'll change in the future.

I disagree with his views on emotional problems like depression. He paints it as though it's nothing and it doesn't exist... I've been through depression and recently I got out of it. The treatment isn't like he says. A depressed person has lots of wrong thinking patterns which many of them comes from childhood experiences. You have to unwire most of these thinking patterns and replace them with healthy ones. It's no easy. It takes lots of work. Cognitive therapy helped me a lot. His video on anger was also bad. He just can't help people with serious psychological problems. I don't like some of his views on relationships either. I know he doesn't want to marry and he doesn't want a family. These views have a very clear effect on his videos. It was most apparent in his "Avoiding dysfunctional relationships" video. Also when he talks about success, he pretty much sacrifices every other aspect of life for it like his "27 qualities of successful people" video. I'm not for that either. Also he always says meditation will solve your problems. Well I don't agree with that. Maybe it helps the process but none of it would change your thinking patterns. You have to face those problems (like anxiety and depression) head on. I also am not much for enlightenment which I'm not going to expand on it now. I actually prefer psychologists advice for self development. I only use some of his videos as a complement. Like " How to comparing yourself with others", "How to stop caring what other people think of you", "willpower" and a lot of others...

I used it for about 10 days and it sure did have its effect for that time. This is how I did it: 2 mins after waking in the morning and 2 mins exactly before going to bed. When you do this, during the day whenever you wanna slack off, your vision comes and saves you from wasting time. You will continue your work!

I'd love that:) I just don't have time for the next two months... Would you still want to do free life coaching then?

Feeling good together by David burns. I don't know if this book is what you are looking for but it's about how to have better relationships.

I don't know what you can do about your parents. But I had depression and I've recently gotten out of it. I read the book "feeling good" by David burns and I did the exercises in the book. The books uses cognitive techniques to shift the way you think about yourself, others and the world. It helped me a great deal in time. You can use it to learn about how you can deal with your parents too. Wish you luck, give yourself time to get out of it

Can someone please write a summary of the 7 key insights mentioned in Leo's latest video (How to stop comparing yourselves with others)? I thought this last video was very important. Thanks in advance:)

Well, to tell the truth, it'd be much easier and I didn't want to listen to it again.

I have an entrance exam in 2 months. It's very important to me that I get a good grade. But every once in a while I lose motivation and I won't study for a few days. Can you give me practical solutions on how to keep myself motivated through these 2 months? Tnx it means a lot to me:)

I study Mechanical Engineering. I have a comprehensive exam in 3 months. It requires me to study a lot of books. I probably have to study 7 hrs a day for it! It's my goal to get a really high grade on this exam. It's very important to me. It will directly affect my future. It kinda makes me anxious when I think about the outcome. So I have a general question! What 's the healthy outlook towards goals? Should one have high hopes about the results? Should one expect to get great outcome? Or the healthy way is just do what you can and get detached from the results completely? And if It's better to get detached completely from the results, how can I do it? How can I change my towards results?

David burns have some good books on this topic like "Intimate connections" and "Feeling good together"
