  1. I love how you put that I was gonna say that we should be grateful for things, that it's important to recognize what we have, but the way you explained this, is the kind of "grateful" I was thinking about. So I guess it is a bad word to use because of it's many different meanings and the levels of which you use them Appreciation is important
  2. You gotta remember that even though you have never been in the dark room or ever saw the object, someone did lol Someone, with their own ego and thoughts, chose to place that object where it was. Now, if we are all connected, and all one, it would make sense that if one person decided to make that side table a reality in it's fixed location, then it will be in all of our reality I hope that makes sense
  3. @Ayilton @Rilles @Arkandeus lol thank you I'm no expert on it, just happened to hear that lesson before reading this post lol seemed to fit perfectly Also I can't help but be a bit defensive of my beliefs lol still working on that part
  4. I don't want to dismiss your feelings as "typical of people your age", what you are feeling is real and it is a part of you. I know how you are feeling, I really do. I was told to accept every part of me as myself, and once I did that, I was able to focus on what I wanted to be and then just made it a daily effort to become what I wanted internally by just being it. I'm still trying to figure it out, of course. it doesn't happen over night, and a lot if this stuff still makes no sense to me lol. But don't beat yourself up if you fail and succumb to your ego. We are human. You will slip up, but that doesn't have to be who you are. Just take time to figure out what attributes of yourself you want to work on and others that you want to perfect. Just don't put so much pressure on yourself enjoy the experiences around you.
  5. I think life is full of contradictions I agree, but I think we are also supposed to guard our hearts in the process. I don't think enlightened means gullible fool This question makes me think of my father. He has got to be one of the most selfless and compassionate men I've ever seen. He has let friends and family stay in our home till they got back on their feet. And even after one of the "friends" royally screwed, him to the point of getting him arrested over an overdue traffic ticket -_-, he still opened our house to one of my friends that was kicked out of his house (because he didn't understand how to be a man). My father has been used and abused by many people, I have even told him that he should stop trusting everyone. But he told me once that it had nothing to so with "trust", but it had everything to do with being a good Christian/Human being. He was open and loving, but not a fool about it. He learned how to be compassionate and good to others while still protecting himself I'm sorry for the rant, I hope it makes sense and applies
  6. Agreed @Stella1976 if you doubt he will be supportive and loving towards you, then you may need to either examine the relationship itself, or examine how your abuse has possibly warped your mind and how you think about others and how you trust or don't trust them. Therapy is never a bad option, if you are able to do it. I think that if you give him the chance though, he could surprise you I truly do believe that most humans wish to love and protect their mate much more than hate and reject them. Thank you for being strong enough to take the first step. Now you need to take the next one, and only you can decide what that step is and how big it will be. Then just keep taking steps toward the person you want to be. You are stronger than you think! And love more than you believe. Just stay strong! You can do this! You are worth it!
  7. Dam lol I was seriously about to post the original video lol
  8. (Sorry if Someone Posted Already) Return to Innocence by Enigma That's not the beginning of the end That's the return to yourself The return to innocence. Love Devotion Feeling Emotion Love Devotion Feeling Emotion Don't be afraid to be weak Don't be too proud to be strong Just look into your heart my friend That will be the return to yourself The return to innocence. If you want, then start to laugh If you must, then start to cry Be yourself don't hide Just believe in destiny. Don't care what people say Just follow your own way Don't give up and use the chance To return to innocence. That's not the beginning of the end That's the return to yourself The return to innocence. This is such a simple song filled with such a beautiful message I actually did a flag routine to this song but couldn't find that video This makes me feel so at peace
  9. Yeah. I suppose I'm stuck waiting till the physical therapy starts. Oh well.
  10. Hey guys, So, I got into a little bit of a car wreck yesterday, and I thought I was totally fine. Didn't actually feel anything. Today is a totally different story though. My back and wrist are really sore and I was just wondering if there was any secret to helping alleviate the pain without resorting to drugs or just laying here till it stops. Would aerobic stretching be a good place to start? or will that just make it worse? It hurts to do it, but I'm willing to deal with it if it will help. Any thoughts?
  11. awwww... now i'm sad :'( Troooooooyyy!!!!!
  12. @MisterMan sounded like you were almost quoting it lol Love this show! #6SeasonsAndAMovie!!!
  13. wow, you just made me think of a scene from one of my favorite shows
  14. @winterknight I think it's just cool to get different perspectives to build off of. Especially on a site like this, where there are members from all over the world. The way the East learns about enlightenment and spirituality is quite different and can be contradicting to the West. So, at least from my perspective, I think the idea is to take what you feel can work for you and build on it, while still keeping your mind open to the millions of perspectives coming at you so that you can add to your method and grow
  15. That's really nice I think exploring the physical world can totally be part of your inward journey. The world is so vast and has so many hidden secrets that not one person has ever seen ever part of it. I feel like that can make life exciting.
  16. @Barbarian Number 8 Wise words man! Teachers are real super heroes!
  17. This post reminded me of a pretty great song. PARENTAL ADVISEMENT: VIDEO MAY CONTAIN VIOLENCE A LITTLE TOO GRAPHIC FOR THE WEAK AT HEART. I think the message can be transferred to anywhere in the world right now, honestly.
  18. I adore how you go through the thread and read everything, and then imagine this is Leo's reaction to it all lmao!!!
  19. @Michael569 Thank you. It's a little weird now. Seems to be coming in waves instead of a constant pain. Just can't wait to feel like myself again... Doc called today and said he is gonna put me into physical therapy to help get range of motion back. He doesn't think it's anything major or permanent, but he said we won't know for sure until some time passes...
