  1. I agree. I don't think he had any kids lol but pretty sure his whole shtick was to be free of all materialistic attachments. I don't really know much about him, but I'd imagine blackmailing Buddha would be as successful as blackmailing a rock lol
  2. You can look it up if you like women get hired for the same jobs as men (I'm talking big corporate jobs in this case) and they get paid less. It's not an unknown thing here in the US. It's something women have been fighting for a long time. I can't speak for other countries. I just know that's how things are here.
  3. @Karin12414 congratulations girl! Keep it up, you're doing great!!! Don't let anyone or anything limit you from being all you can be
  4. @Spiral Hand made in the USA lol I'm not saying that this is the case 100% of the time. Just that you have to realize and admit that what @SFRL asked is totally legitimate. It happens every day in a large part of the world. But like I said, there has been a beautiful movement of Women Empowerment across the globe. And I do pray they don't lose their fight. If anyone can shatter the glass ceiling, it's a woman with her 9 inch stiletto
  5. @Artimus i know it might seem scary now but you can do this. Stay strong! Focus on you. You're worth it!
  6. My best friend is getting married so currently, my art is manifesting in designing all the fun stuff I took the photos and edited them This has been my favorite so far made mugs for the whole Bridal Party
  7. @Zweistein Good luck I hope you have lots of fun I will try to see if I can make a small project for my daughter to get in on she's better at making messes than cleaning them lol but I will come up with something fun Thank you for sharing!
  8. I agree that this is probably the first step to helping others. You need to be what you want to share. You can't be loving to others if you don't love yourself, you can't feed the hungry if you are starving, you can't help the poor if you are also poor. I am right there with you "You can't give what you don't have" I've posted this on a few other discussions like this. It's something my pastor said in one of his sermons about a month ago and it has really stuck with me. You can't fix what's out there if what's in you is broken
  9. @blazed I agree that we shouldn't do good with the expectation of something in return. Do good because you are compelled in your heart and soul to do it and for no other reason. The action alone should be the reward. I think these two points a bit of deliberate exaggeration. I understand the point you are trying to make, but using a hyperbole like this won't help it. Obviously the entire world is not going to drop everything and start doing charity. That's nonsense. But the ones who decide to aren't going to single-handedly destroy the planet. That's what Politicians are for Again, I understand what you are saying and I do agree with some of it. Just try to stay a little closer to reality if you want your points to really hit
  10. Holy crap! That's so much stuff to try and learn to live in nothingness. But like they say, nothing worth achieving is easy
  11. @Spiral That's actually not completely true. I've had some really ugly (sorry to be mean about it) guys work with me up front in the restaurants, but girls that don't fall under the "traditional idea of beauty" aren't even giving a second interview despite any schooling or experience they may have. @Ether Are you saying there is no difference or double standard between men and woman in the work force? Women can make whatever choices they want, yes, but the question was are women seen more as sex symbols than men. The answer is yes. Whether you are equality minded or not, this is how the business world works.
  12. I agree with the above, I've never been a fan. I was put on medication back in high school for BPD and it made me feel like such a zombie. I couldn't socialize and I hated every second of it. Once I got off of it, I felt like I couldn't focus or control my thoughts too well. I do believe there are cases where it is really needed, like physical pain and serious mental illness, but majority of it could be fixed with cognitive therapy in my opinion.
  13. @Ether Lol I don't do that. Most women have to or feel the need to. I almost never wear makeup and skirts lol But I will say, I got my current job because of my "beautiful smile" and how "popular" I was with the guests at my previous restaurant job (My manager said as much). It's only now that they are seeing that I can do more than smile and say "Welcome, how may I help you?" lol But I was just hyperbolizing to make a point mostly lol
  14. lol @Tom Daniel D I hope all of these posts aren't confusing you too much. I still think, no matter what, you should follow your heart if it is leading you to help others, then go for it! Real or not, this world we have "created in our minds" is really broken and messed up. If you want to strive to stand out from the darkness and shine your love on the world then do it Just don't go into it with any expectations and I think you should be okay People are gonna disappoint and hurt you, but that doesn't mean you have to stop your mission and fall to the dark side. Just exude love and stay genuine!
  15. I completely agree. In order for a man to make it big they have to be talented, super charismatic and wear the right suits (being white doesn't hurt either, but that's another topic ) In order for women to achieve the same things, we usually have a good amount off ass kissing and sexual harassment we need to go through before we can get to that level of success, and we still won't be paid the same. I do hope this Women Empowerment movement that has started across the globe will at least shorten this sexist gap by the time my daughter grows up. As for my generation, better get the lipstick and mini skirts ready.
  16. What course? lol I really haven't been able to watch his videos because they are just way to long My daughter doesn't let me sit still and quietly for that long lol
  17. Hello all, So when it comes to discovering one's life purpose or choosing a career path, I feel like I've know what I wanted to do since I was very little, but I have never really known how to get started. I know it's probably cheesy as hell, but I've always felt that it was my purpose to help the world in some way. I know I can't solve all of the world's problems, like war and stuff like that, but I've always felt compelled and drawn to helping others. The problem is, I'm not really in the best position to help the amount I want to. Now, career wise, I've always imagined becoming a professional singer (again, I know how cheesy that sounds lol) I don't think lack of talent is an issue. That's not to say that I'm full of myself, I have just been in vocal training since I was very little and I know my abilities. My issue is I have never know how to get started. I know there's YouTube, but is there more to do? I am a great singer, but not at all a great writer lol so I don't write my own stuff too much. I think I've only finished one song I wrote. I also have no clue how to produce my music and then market it in an effective way. Is social media the only way? I don't have any social media right now due to my core beliefs that it's all evil, but I feel like my purpose is more important than that. I am willing to do anything short of "fuck my way to the top" I just don't know where to start. I've delayed all of this because I had my daughter and allowed myself to believe it wasn't possible to go for it. I thought to myself 'well you're pregnant now, that means you had you chance now you need to stay focused on her' However, being on here and learning so much about myself and learning to love myself the way God intended has shown me that if I believe I can achieve anything I want if I just put forth the work and effort. I truly feel like I can and should use my talent to push me in a position to be able to help others in a real and big way. So I'm ready to start working. But where do I start? Sorry for the long post. I'm feeling pretty fired up right now ???
  18. Yeah I found this OLD video of back when I was 18 lol Tell me what y'all think My voice is a little more developed and I have more control to do some fun vocalizations now
  19. Yeah, I couldn't tell you the exact verse, but that's definitely in there I've started trying to approach the world and new discoveries with the free and ignorant (in a good way lol) mind of a child and I think it makes learning new things so much more exciting and meaningful at least for me
  20. @cetus56 yeah I've been working on that. Anything is possible if you just believe. Walt wasn't wrong about everything lol there was wisdom between those racist jokes
