I have a doubt. In one hand I find some of Jordan Peterson's ideas to be insightful and useful. In the other I see Leo, who's opnion I value, criticizing his world view and even saying that I shouldn't even hear this dude. So I was trying to think who's most right here and stumbled across this video of this zen master callled Doshin Nelson Roshi talking about him, post-modernism and some other important shit. He also gives a rather good opnion on Peterson. So, what do you guys think of JP? See the video, Give it a try

Ok, just took another 3g about two hours ago and nothing, I'm depressed. I wanted this my entire life.

I tried two times to take magic mushrooms and it didn't work, both 3g. First I thought it was my full belly and the fact that I stored the shrooms for so long in my wardrobe. But then I took it again in the next week and nothing happened, just some placebo shit. Can someone please explain to me or tell me some alternative ways to use magic mushrroms or another psychedelics. Thx.

Ok, so I've done some research/thinking and pretty good news for me, for now. It happens that the source was not that good, my friend took the same amount and nothing happened, I'm so happy. The first time I thought it was the universe was helping out. Now second time he's joking with me, or not(maybe I should take more). I'm thinking in taking a heroic dose, but I want people who are experienced to help me out here. I am doing something crazy and ignorant? (second time I fasted for 8 hours)

All I know is that the source was trustful. The problem is that I'm biased towards the mushrooms because they're more visual, but I'll try LSD. I want to know possible reasons for why it didn't work.

Why is Terrence Mckenna green? Pardon the question but, when you use so much psychedelics alone wouldn't you at least see the big picture?

So, I read in some of Leo's replies that one of his fundamentals teachings is that we shoudn't listen to the mind, but to what extent and how? I mean, when I started meditating I remember that I was thinking: "Yeah, that's good for me, I should do this". And when we contemplate, aren't we using our mind to understand reality using our own experience? Could someone explain this to me or send a video? Thx guys.

Yeeeees, lots of good thinking(lol) we have here. I'll put everything said here in perpective, but first I'll contemplate on the matter (it's such a mindfuck for me to use the mind analize itself). For now the best way to look at it is that there's this higher-self/intuition that helps to filter the bs.

I'm almost sure you're going through the Dark Night stage, search for this stage in a book called Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha, also read about the other stages and see if you identify something. The author gives you the pdf for free in his site, Daniel M. Ingram.

Hey dude, keep it up. I really understand this falling and getting up business, I've had a pretty cushy life and my discipline is non-existent for that. I think I've been trying to meditate regularly for 3 years and failed so much already, but I'll never quit. Never. (I really like seeing Naruto's videos to keep inspiration, maybe you have someone of your own)

So, I'm doing this retreat at my camp site with two friends and I'm planning to trip on psychedelics there. Should I trip alone or with them? Can I get good results even with them? Btw it's going to be my first trip and I really want have this experience with them.

Hey guys, I started meditating again three weeks ago and in the first one something really strange happened to me. I was trying to focus on my breath and all of the sudden my head started to bounce left to right WITHOUT any effort. It was really pleasing at the time and I was smiling all along. Later then I perceived that I can control it if I want with my will or my breath. Then, I searched the reason for this and I found lots of different answers like, chakra, kundalini awakening, healing energy. The thing is that I don't know what the heck is this because there's so many different perspectives and this is why I am writing this topic, to see you guys view on this stuff. Any ideas???

That's seems very true from my experience, sometimes I get a extremely pleasing sensation on the top of my head and I get so clinged to it that I forgot to stay concentrated. hahahahahahaha I'm scared that I'm just distorting my results, cuz I'be been meditating for a short time. I don't know if it is progress. Also, thanks for the video.

Yeah, its really like these but less intense, my body also shakes a lot if I'm not concentrating much. But anyways, do you know what is this?

@Faceless Thank you so much buddy, maybe persuing enlightenment can be in a way selfish but it can bring wellbeing to others as well, as you point it, that really feels truthful. Also, maybe purpose is a bigger concept than other people tell us, but that is something to contemplate on. You know man, actually as I was studying today it came me the idea that if I don't choose to isolate myself to persue the big E, I can help others spiritually too, as a guru when I reach some mastery. Again, thanks for helping. If someone has a different opinion please share it.

I've been seeking my life purpose for some years and there's a lot of confusion. But finnaly I had some lights in the way, one of them is to seek my spiritually and ironically it has caused me more confusion. That's because it seems to me that this path is quite selfish, I mean, whats is going to be my contribution from that? Is that even a life purpose? Plus, what's the meaning of college then? My mom thinks I'm craaaazy and I'm not even mentioning my father. Please give some insight = )
