I also make that question to myself. But, I would say that the true self normally is like a soft voice or in reality not a voice at all. It's like an intuition, like a knowing that is fast and it comes altogether like an insight, a flash. And the ego is more the voice that is in our heads that talks and talks, like when you are thinking "Should I go to the supermarket now or later" It's more like a conversation with yourself. That's in my experience...

You are Ok @Aakash hehehe... no problem, you are not racist. I think that a preference for women of certain race is not a big deal. IMO the worst part of racism is when it becomes violent. Like those neo-nazis guys that go to churches of black people to shot everyone, or like attacks like the jewish have been enduring due to their race and beliefs. Or like what it happened in my country, that they killed almost all local natives after the spanish invasion. That's a dark part in the history of my country. And I know it happened in other south american countries, like in Peru, Mexico... etc...

But if there were not different races it would be segregation anyway. It happens between white europeans, like if you are saxon or anglosaxon you consider latin whites like inferior, for example white europeans from Spain, Italy, Greece, etc. It will happen anyway and if there's nothing different genetically they will find some problem so they can "differentiate" from others and keep the divide going on. The thing it to keep opposite groups so they can fight and do stupid things, instead of working all together towards a better society.

Well, what I am saying is that spirit = consciousness. @Aakash The "split" is an illusion and is not an split of consciousness. It is an split of "souls" that is not real. Thought creates that "split". I know is a deep matter and probably words are difficult to make them achieve the exact meanings we wanted to give to them. Consciousness is always unified and infinite. The idea of a soul or a separation is what is not real. In my understanding soul is different than spirit. If I do a gross comparison I would say that soul is similar to ego and spirit is similar to God or what IS, being. But soul, in reality doesn't exists and the "split" , "creation" or "multiplicity" is just an illusion, or maya.
