Yes, I understand that. Ok. I am not trying to convince you about my beliefs, I like to know other POVs and I think your POV is interesting. I am always open to new interpretations. I wanted to share my idea of how everything is. In what I understand you cannot become God, in that we agree. The difference is that I think that you can't become God because you already are God. This is something that I understood from the Advaita Vedanta doctrine, and from what Ramana Maharshi or Nisagardatta have said. But it is also logical to me. Everything that you want to become is an identity, and God/Brahman/The Absolute has no identity, is the source. And you are that source. This is my belief, just wanted to share it with you but I am not trying to convince anyone about this. I agree with that, I am not completely familiar with the monotheistic teachings or what they say, but I tend to think that they see God as a person or some kind of identity. I don't think Brahman is a person, we agree on that. But what I think is that we are that. We are not persons too, our identity is a false construct. We can advance in the spiritual path and become Gods or Devas as you say. But in the end we all will have to abandon our identities to realize that we are the Absolute, Existence itself, with no names or attributes. We cannot become it, because we already are it. You cannot become what you are. It's impossible. What we have to do is to realize what we already are. We also agree on that point. Brahman cannot be understood. I would add that what is real is the experiences that we have. The lessons we learn. Everything that is not permanent is not real by definition.

That's the problem with words. When they say is not real or is an illusion it means that is not made the way we think it is. For example matter, the atoms or particles that create matter are no where to be found. They are particles when observed and they are waves when no interaction. I like the Christian view of the matter that says that Jesus was man and God at the same time. And that's what you are. You are the same as Christ, God and human. You have to find the God part of yourself.

What is the difference with "Brahman"? I am not talking about the dogmatic idea of the conventional religions of God like a guy sitting on a cloud punishing everyone that doesn't behave following their commandments. There's not a clear definition of the word GOD because for everyone may have a different meaning and it has different meanings even between different religions. But my idea was that there's a power that is ONE, and GOD is just a word we use to name that idea or concept, like Brahman, the Absolute, or the I AM... etc... For me what it means that there is only one GOD, is like there's only ONE source of everything. Even if there's other gods they will appear in this source, so in fact is all ONE. And that ONE is my idea of GOD, but I like to call it Brahman too... --------------------------------------------------- Note: I was googling after I posted this and I find out that there's two definitions of monotheistic, one more inclusive and another one more exclusive. I am talking about the inclusive idea of monotheism.

I noticed some people use the term mind with different meanings. The lower mind they just call it just "mind" or "lower mind" and consciousness or awareness they call it "Buddha Mind" or "Buddha Nature". We have to know what mind whas @Dumuzzi referring too... maybe he was talking about the "Buddha Mind" = GOD

How can't you know? The only thing that is true is what is permanent... if it dies, it's not true, not real... You don't need to be enlightened to understand that... IMO

The mind tend to think that because there's an explanation, then if rape happens we are going to feel nothing or we are not going to react to an event like that. Or that is not going to affect us... that's how the lower mind sees everything, black and white. If you say one thing, then you are against the other... there's no middle path for the lower mind (ego). You can know the truth and be affected at the same time. Knowing the truth doesn't make you an insensible person that doesn't feel anything or that doesn't act.

You will decide where and when you will be reborn to learn the lessons you need to learn. Because you are God. And yes, I think that it is likely that can happen, a racist can be born into other race to learn how it is to be in a different skin. :-)

God is ONE... and that ONE thing is the truth. How does God creates "others"? With a lie, with a false thing. That falsehood is what allows the world as we know to exist, because it is not true. If it was true it would be GOD the ONE and it won't be seen. Because any concept, idea, any object of the world is false. The false is needed to create the idea of a world, where bad things happen but there's also good things happening. Everything has to happen... and is happening at this very moment.

When did I say it was "good"? Rape is the result of ignorance. Of not knowing who you are. If he wasn't ignorant of his true nature, he wouldn't be raping the kid, because he would know it is also him. He would love the kid as himself, but he doesn't know that. He is ignorant. Who said that God wants it? God doesn't want anything because HE IS EVERYTHING that is happening right now at this very moment. HE IS... or better said I AM. (You are too... )

I think a lot about it, I agree with a lot of commenters here that in reality there's no soul. It's just a partition of consciousness that the mind creates but it depends on consciousness, it can't exist by itself. But if we want to explain it in a more "worldly" way I say that the soul is (as it was said here before) is the fragmented part of consciousness that thinks it lives inside a body. And the Spirit, that's the whole thing, consciousness, awareness... so Spirit would be God or your true self and soul is an identification that thinks it is a body and that it will die and go to heaven. I got confused when people use Spirit and Soul like they are the same thing, I think they are not... of course is just a matter of language. They are both concepts, but sometimes does concept can help to understand or to get more insights that can help to assimilate our experiences. :-)

He is also the rapist... and he is living also that experience from both points of view at the same time. He is also experiencing everything, he is the only one that exists, so he is experiencing all the apparently fragmented lives.

The body is like a bottle and awareness like air. The bottle says, the awareness that is inside me is me, I am a bottle and the air outside me is the world. But when you open the bottle and squeeze it, the air that is inside the bottle joins with what is outside and in reality the bottle is just imagining that he/she/it is separated. The body is like the bottle and the air is like awareness, awareness pervades everything, the body is in awareness, and not the other way around. There's no awareness "inside" the body, the body is not aware of anything. Awareness is.
