  1. Got you... yeah... it's the clinging that creates the idea of the self. I understand that, thanks Mandy. I think the posts of all of you is helping me to understand what I am trying to understand. Or what I am questioning to myself. Let me see if I can explain better, I think that what I wonder is for the sake of curiosity. Probably there's not an answer to it. I understand that the ego doesn't exists and Jesus is saying that if you try to save your ego you will lose your life. That means that if you try to save your false self, (because you will be thinking that you are the body, the mind, whatever...) then when you die and unite with God (your true nature) if you didn't incorporate those ideas, the self that doesn't exist will die and of course the true self will always be there. But the you, the small you is going to be lost. The ego won't be able to accept all that comes with being God or consciousness and probably it will be shocked and as a psychological protection probably it will be lost... disappear, it will be gone.... no more ego... bye... You will really die. To consciousness I think... Maybe Jesus (because he was talking to people that had no idea about true self, and false self. They thought about it in terms of God and Devil) was trying to point to them the obvious by saying that. Of course, if you cling to the idea of the false self, you will lose your true life that is what you really are. But... this is my question... The true self is always there. How is it possible to lose your life, if you are already are the life?. Even if you lose your idea of self/ego... you will be always there! You can't lose yourself. Because you already are the life, the way and the truth. Jesus must be referring only to the lower self... but... if you recognize and don't cling to that lower self, does that means that the lower self / ego will be incorporated into GOD??? ... you will keep some memories of what you think you were? And here comes another question... if God knows everything... isn't it what it happens anyway? God will know all the lives of all the sentient beings and have them as experiences incorporated in consciousness? So, you will never really die, because you never really existed to begin with... :-P I don't know if I am explaining my question better in that way.... ... it's a bit complicated. And easy at the same time hehehe...
  2. I was thinking in Yogananda hahaha... he was long time ago the Guru of Hollywood.
  3. I think that is one of the conclusions we can arrive from that statement. Because we are attached to the idea of an ego we can lose everything, because we won't identify with consciousness so the ego that is false will be gone, so what we think we are will be gone too. But I think he is going deeper than that, he is also talking about the identification with the idea of a self. In a way it is also attachment. We are attached to the idea of ourselves. :-)
  4. I got you SoonHei thanks for your comment! I was thinking that because God knows everything (God or consciousness, whatever we want to call "IT") how can he lose anything? The only way is if you are too attached to the idea of a self... when you unite with everything that self will be lost. But, if you preserve it, does it means that the self will stay? Isn't it necessary to lose all idea of a self/ego to become one with God? That's what confuses me... :-)
  5. @mandyjw Oh, that's interesting. I didn't know that. That Rolling Stone icon is awesome. I used to do a magazine in high school and the main character or mascot for the magazine was a big mouth, I did it very much inspired in that mouth. hehehe...
  6. What do you mean by that? :-) So, that's what Jesus realized he is... and what Christianity calls it "The Son"... my question was more because I was thinking that the ego can be integrated in that Consciousness, in that way "Existence/Reality/That" can assimilate all the experiences of everything what happens in reality. But if you preserve that ego, isn't that also ego? Isn't the idea to lose all ideas about yourself? So in a way you always will be losing your life. Maybe I am overthinking it too much hehehe... thanks!
  7. That's an interesting interpretation and "way of understand it", I never thought about it in that way. Thanks!
  8. That's what I understood in the beginning but I was wondering if he was referring to something deeper. Like losing any kind of consciousness... IDK... Maybe God loses all it's identification with any idea and it has to build itself and everything again, not sure if that's what Jesus meant. Thanks for your response! :-) That makes a lot of sense... thanks!
  9. I understand that... I know we have to lose everything to get "everything". But my question was, if maybe he was referring also to something more, like losing even anything that can be identified with something, like losing even consciousness that is supposed to be the origin of the universe. That's what blows my mind. Lol... Thanks!
  10. @Uglyroach @Rilles @Someone here @seeking_brilliance @Mikael89 @SoonHei Thanks guys! I will take a look more in details at your responses and if I have some more questions I will add them here. But your opinions are really valuable for me! Thanks!!!
  11. I think it was Nisargadatta who said that the only desire that can finish all desire is the desire of being enlightened. And that is the last desire you have to drop...

  13. "Awakening at a Costco" That sounds like a good title for a movie hehehe... Thanks for sharing your experience!!!

  15. That's scary... not good at all. Orwellian I would say...
  16. I am in the chapter "Our Conceptual Self Experience". Not sure if the pages are the same as in the printed version, I have a digital version and the text flows. It's like the page 303. But I think if I change the size of the font because the view of the book is "fluid" the page numbering can change. But the chapter is that one I mentioned above... "Our Conceptual Self Experience".
  17. hahaha... I like the Mask, it's so funny... and I like to draw, so I did that avatar myself. It's fanart in reality. Yep, that must be it! I am pretty sure too... I have those low moments when I am afraid about work, if I am going to have money for the rent, all that stuff drives me crazy. It's the ego trap!
  18. Some drawing I made, "The Mask" fanart.
  19. @Galyna Don't give up, just feel that stage... I was in the same situation like you... and it comes and goes. All those feelings are not you, just observe them and continue doing what you need to do. They will pass, that's the nature of the dream. Impermanence. I was super depressed lately, things were not going the way I expected... but that's the problem. There's no "I" to expect nothing. But I know it's hard to accept. I am like walking btw the two worlds, the relative world and the absolute one.
  20. OMG, I just posted almost the same thing! But I am not giving up! I just took a short vacation.
  21. Lol... I didn't read anything... I went all the way into the dream... and I forgot what I was... now I am coming back to find myself again... I think I am a person, that's bad...
