Ok @Salaam I understand your point now. Sorry if I misunderstood. I don't share your point of view but is a good point. I am more inclined to oneness, because of some experiences I had... but you can be right. I am open to that.

Well, I know to realize we are nothing is a pill hard to swallow. I understand your escapism to your "reality". It's much better to think that we are separated and not one, so we don't have to take the responsibility as human race as a whole, for making the world a terrible place with murders, kidnapping, suicide, contamination, greed, etc... whatever... that's a very good way to "confront" the reality. Very smart.

@Nomad I am not an expert, I am still looking. But this is what exactly means to transcend. To transcend your ego, first you have to know it. That's what I am doing now, understanding it. It doesn't mean fighting against it, or denying it.

It is not self defeating. It is losing what you think you are, to discover your real self.

@Natasha @Nomad I am not saying that we have to "kill" the ego. Transcend would be the correct word. Not being controlled by the ego. Just to clarify, because I am not sure if I am saying it right.

@Nomad Well, you are still an ego, you feel the ego, you feel sad... I am not enlightened but I can see my ego more clearly. And I can tell you that you relate more to people without the filter of the ego, because the ego want things for himself, is not interested in others. When you stop the ego another part of you appears that connects with people and is humanistic, because that's the state the humans were supposed to be in the beginning.

I think spiritual enlightenment is seeing reality, the world, whatever we live in without the filter of the ego. IMO I think this is one of the best definition I heard of enlightenment:

Did you never had ideas that it seem like if they weren't yours? In fact they are yours, but you don't identify with them, those ideas that people say that it was a "muse" who inspired them.

@Nomad I ask you because I am always looking for other opinions. Ok... maybe you are right. But my experience is that there's really a higher self, a part of us who is connected with something bigger than us. That connection with the universe, with everything. That's is everything but is you too... that is my concept of God. God is the "I AM", so basically we are Gods. I know it sounds contradictory, because it is. It's a paradox, I don't know.

How do you like to call it? Energy? Universe? Nature? the law of attraction?? The Absolute? The no absolute truth???... But you are saying that "there are times when our projections are accurate? " They are accurate compared with what? With the absolute truth? I call absolute thruth God, but that doesn't mean that my idea of God is from 500 BC, it's actually a pretty modern and "Matrix like" idea of God. But I call it God anyway.

@Nomad Do you think that you are your collection of memories, experiences, opinions of others that you assimilate as yours, etc? ... You said you had an experience of no identity, what are you when you don't know your identity? You are an awareness or a consciousness right?... that's what we are. When I say we are nothing, it means our ego, what we collect from our experiences and contact with other people, etc.

What if God is the only absolute truth? But we can't understand him?. That's what I think it happens, but I am always having my mind open to any possibility. I think...
