  1. I think when you began with self actualization work, you realize there's no purpose in life. And that realization is so liberating that you understand that you can do whatever you want, and you really find purpose on life.
  2. Maybe this articles can be of help. https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-good-life/201108/there-are-no-accidents http://www.lightascension.com/arts/Therearenoaccidents.htm
  3. Interesting stuff that trypophobia thing.
  4. I think @Jani that SDS is a kind of meditation. You have different types of meditation and SDS is one of them. I am not an expert but I think is a good idea to do self inquiry too.
  5. I agree with that, the idea is to challenge your comfort zone. :-)
  6. I think you did a great job. You accomplish a lot, most of the people can't stay quiet more than 15 minutes. I think that is a great beginning. The idea is really to get bored, so... you bore the hell out of your ego until he leaves you due to boredom hehehehe... The ego is always looking for something exciting, interesting, funny, etc. In this way of meditation you bore the ego to death. :-P You will notice advances in your path, even if you are not aware of them. It happened to me too, everyone said strong determination was so hard, I expected it was going to be very difficult, I could meditate 30 mins. straight the first time. But that's our imagination at work, better not pay attention to that thoughts and not expect anything, just experience the now. My two cents.
  7. The best thing is to continue meditating and waiting for the experience, anything we say is not going to help. I think it was mooji who said that we (our ego) can't be excited by being enlightened, because enlightenment means the dead of the ego. And the realization that there's no one to be enlightened. But I am still talking from my ego perspective.
  8. This is going to be a philosophical idea, I don't think it's true but it just came to my mind. What if we are one consciousness? And we experience everything, the conscious part is the one that we see, feel, memories we collect to the physical mind and body, and the rest we experience it but at a subconscious level that we are not aware of, we are really unconscious of that experiences because the conscience decided to experience duality. Enlightenment would be when we become aware of that and we experience oneness again. But probably this doesn't make any sense, IDK. :-P
  9. I am on vacation in my country, I´ll be back this weekend. I had great experiences and I´ll be more active in the forum next week.
  10. I think you are answering it in your same question. There´s none (true self = no/self = none = nothingness). But when you truly realize that there´s nothing, at that moment you will see reality without distortion, ergo you will be enlightened. And for truly realizing I don´t mean being understood by logic or reason.
  11. True, I read a bit more... and this is wrong in my opinion. "So all we can do is try to better ourselves without hurting others, but sometimes we make mistakes and others get hurt" Who is the one being hurt? And who is hurting others? That doesn´t exist in reality.
  12. We can feel like Robots sometimes because we have no control over a lot of things on our body and minds, but that happens because we don't know our real self or no-self.
  13. Cool, happy Birthday Leo!!!
  14. Nice topic! I am trying to calm my mind. But it is still running pretty crazy. I agree with you @Salaam that we have no control of thoughts but I am still looking for a way to make a better connection with the higher mind to recognize and automatize the process.
  15. So the next day the Buddhist phones again, “Can you please come to my house for a blessing?” “Sorry,” said the monk, “I’m busy.” “What are you doing?” “I’m doing nothing,” replied the monk. “But that was what you were doing yesterday!” said the Buddhist. “Correct”, replied the monk, “I’m not finished yet!” ~ Ajahn Brahm
