  1. In my experience I always felt that my ID created from the world, was not me. I am just finding my true nature. And that can't be done with the mind, you only will create another "I" that won't be who you really are. Just different, but not your true self. The destruction, is not of or about what it means to be human, human is to understand we all are one and love each other. I don't think that's what we see in the world. I think the destruction of what is to be human can happen if we continue going and treating others in the egoistic way of the false self. Just my 2 cents.
  2. @Jed Vassallo In the beginning is really confusing. Our mind is not used to think differently. There are concepts and ideas that sometimes for the mind sound crazy, but they aren't.
  3. That's why we cannot "talk" about what IS. Oneness creates the idea of separation to make it seems there's multiplicity, more than one... but that is false. There's only one. And even that is not true, is not one and not two. Mind cannot comprehend it, because it is made to "separate" to experience the world and the "objects" of the world.
  4. I found this and I thought it was a good thing to share and comment. Here is the link to the whole article http://www.prahlad.org/disciples/premananda/essays/NISARGADATTA CONSCIOUSNESS AND AWARENESS.htm
  5. I read once in I am That, Nis said that consciousness appears in awareness. Consciousness exist because there is unconsciousness. It is still duality. He makes a distinction between consciousness and awareness. If anyone wants to read the article complete here it is: http://www.prahlad.org/disciples/premananda/essays/NISARGADATTA CONSCIOUSNESS AND AWARENESS.htm
  6. Exactly, is the only way to point to it. Words never will represent exactly what is because each one of us has different ideas (or view reality differently). That's duality. We are in duality and we can observe. "What IS" created duality to experience itself as a multiplicity. Is the only way ONE thing can experience itself, creating the idea of two (or more) things. An observer and the observed world. Exactly, that's non duality.
  7. I think he's a really interesting guy. I like what I have read on his books, but I didn't finish them. My mind is too chaotic, I am working on quieting it hehehe....
  8. There's nothing objective, what we (or science) thinks of "objective" is just a more deep rooted subjectivity that we don't recognize as subjective, we took it for real when is not. We think is not a "belief" but it is, a more subtle belief, but it is still a belief. In the dual world, everything is subjective. Depersonalization, in my opinion is the result of an awakening of our true nature in someone who doesn't know anything at all about this topics and gets caught again in the web of illusion or Maya.
  9. I didn't see anyone asking him about that? No idea about that, and I don't want to ask him hehehe... he will answer me with a stab on the back of my ego for sure Lol... I don't think he is. Everybody says that he hides his real name. No one knows for sure who he is hehehe... crazy.
  10. Yes, that's true... sometimes even in awakenings without drugs you get into the illusion more deeply than before. It could be a good reason, yep
  11. I am on Jed Mc Kenna forum too, and he reacted bad too when I asked him about psychedelics.
  12. That's an insight, now I see clearly the function of thought appearing in awareness.
  13. @Nahm Your self inquiry is awesome. Thought creates reality. Not awareness. In my experience. Sorry to interrupt @TruthSeeker47 but this self inquiry stuff is really interesting.
  14. You don't "become" consciousness. You already are it. The only problem is that your preconceived ideas doesn't let you see the truth. Buddhist say that our ego distorts reality and we cannot recognize our true nature. If you are a materialist, like I was... think about Quantum mechanics. Matter is not anywhere, they can't find matter. Only they can predict where it is more probable that a particle may appear, or its position, momentum, etc... using the Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. And think about control. If you think that we are a body, and that there's certain chemicals reactions in the brain that allows us to think, and to do things. How does this reactions happen? Following the rules of physics? So, if you are a result of those rules of physics causing reactions in your brain, how do you have control over that? No one can give you the truth or tell you the truth. The only thing that "others" can do is point you towards truth, but you are the only one who can realize it. Don't follow anyone, just follow your instincts, intuition. Study, try to understand the best way you can and don't try to become enlightened, or become anything. You cannot become what you already are. You can't. When you talk to me, (or write ) I am not listening or reading you. I am reading myself. It's impossible for us to know what others are experiencing, how they see reality and why. I am reading what you say and filtering it through my ideas, my experiences and my preconceived ideas. So maybe for me Jesus was enlightened, others will say no... who has the truth? Just pay attention to your heart and understanding and forget about others, they are (me included) projections on you. You are existence itself. A strange loop. If you didn't see that video, I recommend you to watch it. Leo did it some weeks ago. Peace!
  15. Try this @BobbyLowell Mindful meditation. Observing the thoughts is the easiest way to be not attached to them. At least it worked for me. Being the observer of your thoughts is really powerful
  16. Everybody listen to two voices or more, it's even in popular movies... hehehe...
  17. Cool! That's awesome. You are very welcome! Remember that what IS is always right! hehehe... Just relax and enjoy this dream! Like the song says "Row, row, row your boat, gentle down the stream!! Merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream!"
