  1. Spirituality can become a mental health problem if you don't understand well spirituality. I say this cause I know now. My psicosis and depression was there because I thought I was the thinker of thoughts. Once I knew I'm not my thoughts, Boom!!! No more depression, anxiety or psicosis can affect awareness.
  2. Thanks for sharing that. So powerful. I'm in a level know that I doubt a lot about talking of spirituality, and most of the time I feel is better not sharing and continuing acting as a person. Lol... Thanks again!
  3. I would stay focus on one thing. I think that if you let them roam around, that would be like doing something, right? IMO
  4. I'm curious about Salvia
  5. You can read his ideas about UBI here: https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/87aa2z/iama_andrew_yang_candidate_for_president_of_the/
  6. You are not losing your mind, because your mind is not "yours". Meditation what it is supposed to do is to make you see that thoughts, mind, etc... are not you. That you are bigger than that. Observe an object. Think about it, you will notice thoughts that say "I like it, I don't like it, is blue, is boring, is yellow, it's nice... etc" All those are concepts created by the mind. Look at the object again, this time try to not pay attention to your thoughts. Observe the object as it is. Look at its texture, don't think is good or bad, or if you like it or not. Just observe it, touch it, feel if it is soft or rough... That which observes without judging (this is good or bad) is awareness... Did you notice that at some point?
  7. The devil is just a name. In Christianity people realized that we were not seeing reality the way it is and they say that it was the devil, that God gave the world to the devil... that works, because we really create our personality from the world. The ego (what we are not) is created by our environment, the world. So, everything that comes from the world is a sin and devil. Buddhism called it Maya... etc... Basically what they call 'devil' is what doesn't allow us to see reality the way it is, so we don't really know what we really are. We believe that we are a body, who was born in a world, etc...
  8. @BjarkeT It's Ok... no problem. I understand.
  9. That way in my experience creates another self that is confident. What I wanted to do is not to create another belief systems that is a "confident person"... I think is more powerful to be aware of what you are. What you really are is much more confident than anything. And it doesn't need a "personality that is confident" or create a belief of confidence or thinking you are a "confident person". It's confident because that's what awareness is. It knows it IS. The website you posted says "Self-confidence is believing or being sure about ourselves in some way." In my opinion is not the same "believing that you are" self confident than BEING self confident. But that's my opinion and experience...
  10. I agree with that... Adyashanti and Rupert Spira I think can help a lot ... or Eckhart Tolle
  11. The only way to increase your self confidence is not to listen to negative thoughts. And that can be done with mindful meditation. Being aware of thoughts makes you "notice" that thoughts appear and they are not yours. You just perceive them. Thoughts will begin to fade and you will began to rise, your real self that is much more powerful than thoughts and has all the confidence you think you don't have because you are thinking that those negatives thoughts are actually you. They aren't!!!! and You aren't those thoughts. Positive thinking sometimes doesn't work, because fighting against those thoughts makes them more powerful. You just have to be aware and let them go... let them pass with you not being affected by them. After that the mind will become a tool for you, now thoughts are telling you what you are, which is a lie. It's not your real "you". They say that The mind is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master. Make the mind your servant and not the other way around. Hope this helps.
  12. I didn't know about him, but I like him... Bernie is a bit old in my opinion. Let's see what happens.
  13. That's why words are so hard to explain it. When I said "you can't" I was referring to the ego, the small I.
  14. @Key Elements I think Alan Watts has great "metaphors" for becoming what you are. He says that is like biting your own teeth, smelling your own nose, seeing your own eye, taste your tongue... hehehe... You can't see what you are. Right?
  15. Your girlfriend is very smart, that kind of thinking is the one who can take her (or both) to find the real truth. I am not enlightened, but all the masters say that enlightenment is a non-event, a non-experience... you don't experience enlightenment. You become what you are...
  16. It's hard to know, but maybe he is... @ajasatya Thanks for reminding us!!!
  17. Thanks to @Gryner for creating this post, we all need to know what are we up to when we are looking for enlightenment, and most of the times we are not looking but it happens. In my case, I know I wasn't consciously looking. But now I know I was, the only thing is that my ego didn't know it. And thanks too to the other members of the forum for sharing their stories. They helps all of us in the healing process and to know we are not crazy by looking enlightenment and by having some "negative" experiences. In reality they are negative for the ego, who doesn't want to surrender to what IS. Thanks and blessings!!!
  18. He's so funny, once I begin to read Dilbert's comic strips I can't stop... he's addictive.
  19. You need to understand that you are not the thinker of thoughts. Thoughts just appear in you. But you are not them. Identification with the thoughts is the root of all our problems and suffering. The mind is just a tool, you can focus on other things but you have to let your thoughts go, don't fight against them. Just be aware of them and they will disappear. Try mindful meditation, is very useful for that. So thoughts that are not good or positive you can just observe them and let them go...
