He is emptiness, void and stillness so he can't be surrounded by it. God cannot scape from anything, and he doesn't need to. He didn't create anything separated from him, because he is infinite. There can't be nothing outside him, otherwise he wouldn't be infinite.

Good question. The problem is that people get confused with the message. Jesus talked from the POV of ego/person/human and switched to God/Reality/That without warning Lol... he liked to confuse people and shock them. IMO. That's why he said: In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: "'You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.

For some reason for me it works to pray and to search in the Christian tradition. I had very powerful insights/epiphanies that for some reason it doesn't happen when I am doing buddhist meditation. Even without understanding well what you are doing, it works.
