I think actualized.org as a community lacks vital understanding of this model.

  3. Don't do this, it will weaken you muscles further. The reason fasting works is because the body doesn't need to spend energy of digestion and can instead use muscle and fat as easier sources of energy. This frees up the body to heal itself, but this requires rest. Check out Loren Lockman on youtube he runs a fasting retreat. He know his stuff.
  4. We are not evolved to eat grains. We've only cooked food for 100,000 years. It's not really natural for us.

  6. @Fkdel you're welcome It's a good book. However the book missunderstands the 6th and 7th chakra in my opinion. Skip over those chapters. I don't know if I should recommend the book anymore but it has great chapters on the lower chakras. It also doesn't give good techniques for chakra opening. I hadn't read the whole book when I recommend it.
  7. I recommend learning to open the first 6 chakras with similar techniques to the once I've shared. For the first chakra you should get a sense of comfort and grounding also tap into the earth element/the solidity of your body and the world around you. Also infuse it with love. For the heart chakra you should get a sense of love, start with this chakra as it contributes to the opening of the rest. To open the throats chakra is a bit life doing talk therapy. Say for yourself aloud or silently the things that you hold back. I feel... I want... Rest your attention on your throat. Keep going until you've purified repressed emotions. When that is done notice how you naturally want to express appropriation and gratitude. So you might start expressing negative feelings you feel towards yourself, your life situation or someone. When you have expressed the negative stuff you will naturally want to express what you like about the person. For ajna chakra you should feel present and blissful. Read Tara Springett's Enlightenment through the Path of Kundalini for general instructions on opening chakras. Read her book Healing Kundalini Syndrome to learn how to deal with side effects of energy work. As we increase our systems prana/energy/chi our chakra dysfunctions can manifest in noticable ways like head pressure or lethargy. It's fixed by fixing the root dysfunction. Head pressure is based by self-deception and narcissism for example. This is not dangerous and it's nothing to be afraid of it just give you a kick in the ass to fix your chakra dysfunctions. Also read SantataGamana's real yoga series (5books) to learn how to do kriya yoga. If you have trubbel feeling energy in a chakra you can do SantataGamana's Kriya Supreme Fire, found in Kundalini Exposed, on the chakra to fill it with energy. Disclaimer: this technique can increase your prana and thus manifest chakra dysfunctions as described previously. Once you've become proficient opening your chakras put it all together into this pranayama: Pranayama Instructions This technique comes from Mukherjee from originalkriya.com but he is terrible at explaining the technique. It's the one SantataGamana modified to his own. It requires the ability to feel or have a sense of the first 6 chakras. Gently point your eyes towards the 3rd eye. Do kechari mudra if you can. (Advanced kriyabans have stretched out their tongue to be able to put it up the nasal cavity which stills the mind) If not, do baby kechari: touch the soft palate of the mouth roof with the tip of the tongue. Gently do ujjayi breathing. (Google it) On the in-breath, bring up the memory of the 1st chakra in kutastha (middle of the 6th chakra/middle of head). Mentally chant OM in the 6th chakra to open the remembered chakra. The chant should create a felt vibration in the head, just like you were chanting om out loud. Then you should get a sense of comfort in your head as the 1st chakra opens in your head. Repeat for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th chakra and lastly chant OM in the 6th chakra alone. This should all be done during the in breath, as a total of 6 OMs. During the out breath repeat but go down instead of up. If doing a total of 12 OMs during one breath requires effort you can do one chakra per breath with 2 long OMs, one per in and one per out breath. Go up and down the chakras like this. All chakras are reflected in the 6th chakra, that's why they can be opened in it. To feel a chakra in the 6th chakra you can start by feeling it in it's location, then replicate the same feeling in the middle of your head. After a while you will be able to bring up a chakra in kutastha just by remembering it, with no need to divert your attention from kutastha. When chanting OM, you should get a feeling of bliss in your head. You should feel comfort, pleasure, joy and love for the first 4 chakras respectively and a sense of purification for the 5th chakra. At the same time you should feel still and at peace. The point of opening the chakras in the 6th chakra is to open both chakras at once and to collect the prana in the 6th chakra to enter into a state of witnessing. It should make you very present. Once you can do the pranayama combine it with the rest of SantataGamana's kriya yoga but swap his pranayama for this one. This is the pranayama that he bases his own pranayama on and it's more powerful. Trust me. Also read Enio Nimmis book Krita Yoga: Synthesis of a Personal Experience for better instructions on how to do the mahamudra technique. Kriya yoga techniques complements each other to form a balanced and powerful energy work regimen. The point of doing energy work and kriya is to enter into a blissful state. Once you have done that you will just want to sit and bask in that bliss. This will then lead you to enlightenment. The read to God is paved with bliss.
  8. Let's look at this from the chakra perspective. There are 3 masculine and 3 feminine chakras. The masculine are: Root chakra - physical survival Naval chakra - power Throat chakra - rationality, communication Feminine are: Sacral - intimacy, passion Heart - love Head(ajna) - ego, duality We experience our ego as being in the middle of our head. This is the ajna chakra. That's why it's considered the master chakra. When it is closed you experience duality and ego, when it is open you are present and self-trancendended. When it is completely open you experience non-duality. The other chakras in sushumna(energetic spine) are reflected in ajna. For example, when we experience anger we feel it in our head and navel chakra simultaneously. Anger is a contraction of the navel chakra and when it's experienced the ajna chakra also contracts into duality/ego. On the other hand if we experience joy in our navel chakra, then ajna also opens into boundlessness/happiness/transcendence. However if you open the ajna chakra through for example witnessing meditation. It can remain uncontracted/present/witnessing despite the contracting force of anger. So... The sum total of how open or closed our bottom 5 chakras are (both masculine and feminine chakras) the less ego we have which isn't a gendered pursuit. But pursuing wittnessing/ajna is a feminine pursuit. Also pursuing healing of the lower 5 chakras is an expression of love/the heart chakra which is also a feminine pursuit. So wanting to heal anger is a feminine pursuit but the result is positive masculine energy in the navel chakra/ joy. Hope this makes any sense ?
  9. @Fkdel visualization is a bit of a misnomer. You can't really see it, rather you think it/feel it. I wrote a post about it: So let your intuition guide you, whatever generates joyful, powerful energy is the right technique. Feel the sun like a summer day, feel its brightness and vitality. Remembering the feeling good I'll add that to the technique. The technique is supposed to transcend the anger. Ask your anger what its purpose is or what it's trying to become. Its answer should be something like it's trying to break free into powerful joy. So feel the anger and then go into it to the joy at its core. Joy is in anger like a pearl is in a clam. So it's correct to summon the anger to then dissolve it into joy, but if you are stuck in it then you're not getting the full joy of the technique. And to the extant that you have the anger the energy will be incomparable with love. I should have emphasized it more that you want to infuse the power with love, which is connected to the breath and the air element. And when you do that the anger turns into universal generosity.   10. A lot of people pray for others but it doesn't seem to have much effect. I'm open to telepathy and such working but you would have to be really good at it and maybe the people involved would also have to be receptive. If you have an adversion to taking action in real life then I would guess you have an under active manipura chakra (power centre). If this is so I would recommend the following meditation: Take a seat, keep your back straight and assume a gentle smile. Breathing deeply. On the out-breath, feel a joyful, generous power radiate from a point in your gut/navel area/manipura chakra location out into every direction, filling your entire body and radiating ouwards Hold the out-breath for a little while, holding the feeling of joy, power. Imagine a beautiful, powerful sun i your gut, the size of a basketball, radiating beautiful, warm, nurturing, blindingly bright light. Feel its light fill you with vitality. Then everyone in the universe equally, like the sun nourishes all life on earth. Even alien life looks up into the night sky and become mesmerized by the distant sight of our sun. Feel your loving breath stoking the fire of your sun like a flame needs oxygen. Your power becomes infused with love and becomes a vehicle for the healing power of love. Feel the humor of the life, laugh it up, heal the world with the sound of bubbling joy. Feel the uter perfection of the world. Feel completely at peace. Continue step 2, 3 and 4 while keeping your sense of peace. Do it for as long as you like, I recommend 30 minutes. You can experiment with placing the sun in the middle of your head and radiating joy from there. This simultaneously opens the third eye chakra. It will feel absolutely blissful. You can experiment with imagining a muscular, masculine, wise and loving deity. You are inside of him and his muscles and skin are like a exoskeleton to you. Your manipura chakras align and you share the same sun. You now feel his power and joy as your own.
  11. Ground yourself in asserting love. Not because it's objectively better than hate, just will it. Then from there you can construct a worldview that will serve love in a utilitarian fashion, knowing that it is not grounded in anything objective. Do stay open minded it is helpful when you try to find ultimate truth of your existence. Drop your thoughts and just be joyfully still.
  12. @Spiral Wizard The reason we like positive emotion is because it dissolves the dualistic mind. When we have an orgasm our ego melts into the pleasure, when we see something beautiful our wittness melts into the wittnessed. Enlightenment = perfect non-duality = perfect happiness. Before I had my first enlightenment experience I had let go of almost everything and I was very blissful. Then I realized that what I authentically really want is being, pure being. So I let go of even the bliss and the attachment to positive emotion. Then I had the enlightenment experience. It was utter perfect happiness. Also you will reincarnate as all other creatures in the universe so better care about their wellbeing too. But then living selflessly is the pinicale of happiness so your wellbeing and the wellbeing of others synergize. Insofar as truth is non-duality it is what you want. However @Leo Gura prioritizing truth over happiness is oxymoronic.

  15. Sounds like ibs. Too much FODMAP, insoluble fiber, spicy food, alcohol and fat can be triggers. Eating too much at a time is also not a good idea.
  16. @Fkdel hahaha I know what you mean. It's the manipura chakra. Try infusing that energy with love. That energy in its purest form is joyful, powerful generosity towards yourself and others. Subtle aggression is a subtle contraction in the manipura chakra. What you really seek is joy and loving power. There is a kernel of true joy and power in aggression which is why we like it but we can dispense of the aggression and keep the power.I As we develop a chakra it goes from inactive to contracted and active to open and active. A chakra is on the spectrum between these three states. Your manipura chakra is obviously close to completely open and active but it's not all the way. The inactive version of manipura chakra is submissive, powerless and has victim complex. The contracted and active version of manipura is aggression. Active and open manipura is pure radiating joy and generous power. This energy is sun energy, that's why fire is the element of manipura, the sun is made of fire. I don't judge subtle aggression(I use the word aggression very lightly, but i think you know what I mean), it's a powerful energy. I'm not saying that you should get rid of it because it's bad. I'm just inviting you to get what is so awesome about it and pursue the awesomeness in its purest form. For the sake of happiness, joy and love Try doing this meditation: Assume a gentle smile.   18. Peace is harmony, the absence of conflict. Ego/separation is necessarily in conflict with the truth/oneness/happiness. Ego seeks it but doesn't let itself have it. Conflict is when apposing forces are grinding against each other. Peace is achieved by lovingly integrating the forces into a harmonious whole. When those forces no longer are grinding against each other in you mind you will be happier. Talk you your anxiety, maybe it's trying to tell you that you that it wants you to handle some aspect of your life better. If you are detached you can create some distance between you and the conflict. Work on both detachment and conflict resolution.

Some music can be profound and sad. Collaborate! Find like-minded artists and get together. Only good things can come of it.
  21. We all seek pleasure. It comes in different forms: sex, passion, creativity, intimacy, friendship. Yes, we hang out with friends for the same reason we masturbate, that's why we say "It's been a pleasure to meet you." The point of this exercise is to cultivate an inherent sense of pleasure to not have to rely on external sources like masturbation or social acception/people pleasing. You will also cultivate qualities of the pleasure chakra/second chakra/sacral chakra/swadhisthana like: passion for life, increased energy, ability to deeper connect with people, empathy, tranquility. The muscles in your lower abdomin will relax which will benefit your lower back and bladder. You can get to a point where by doing this chakra opening exercise you will be floored by the amount of pleasure, healing and motherly embrace you feel. Just like you can feel love emmenate from your chest as your natural state, you can feel pleasure emmenate from your lower abdomen. You will probably have some resistance to surrendering to pleasure completely. This must be recognized as a dysfunction. Cutting yourself of from happiness is never a wise idea. An enlightened person is perfectly happy, that's the ideal. By saying this I do not mean to endorse masturbation, it wastes energy and sperm. It decreases the amount of pleasure that can be achieved through this exercise. Doing this exercise will give non of the negative side effects of masturbation. I also don't mean to demonize masturbation, it's just an ineffective way to feel pleasure. As you keep practicing this technique you will naturally lose interest for masturbation, no need to torture yourself with extreme abstinence. This is in essence a tantric technique, used by serious yogis to reach enlightenment through the energetic path. This is the real deal, not just some side dish. I recommend you do the technique for 30 minutes, or up to an hour, to feel it's full potential, but any time spent on it, even 5 minutes, is positive. I recommend you take a nice shower before the technique. Water and cleanliness are subconsciously connected with swadhisthana. Sit or lay down. Deeply relax. Imagine that you are having an orgasm. Produce the feeling in your whole body. Then isolate the feeling of pleasure you feel from it. Pleasure is not inherently sexual so decouple the pleasure from the sexual part of the orgasm. Don't make the energy flow out through the penis like it does during ejaculation. Expand that feeling you your whole body and radiate it from your body. Bathe in it. Surrender to it. Breath deeply and on every out breath feel a wave of pleasure wash over you starting in your lower abdomen and going out to your whole body. Visualize it if it helps. Make the area of origin the area that feels the most pleasurable, this will most likely be the somewhere between just above the hip bone on your stomach and above the first vertebrae in the lumbar spine. (This is the area of swadhisthana.) Dissolve any tension/contraction/blocked energy you feel into pleasure. This should make you feel tranquil. Just like an orgasm there shouldn't be any struggling, the relaxation should be complete. Dissolve yourself in it. Don't contract yourself into it. Just this will take you far but there are additional alterations you can experiment with: Infuse this pleasure with love. This will turn it to more of a healing embrace, which will make it even more healing. Imagine the archetype of the divine mother, an infinitely loving, infinitely wise mother(in no way connected to your material mother). She might take the form of a guru you like or I prefer an avatar made our of radiant, beautiful light, or maybe she is more ephemeral. She loves and embraces you completely, even in ways you are not currently capable of. Now, open up your sense of pleasure towards her. Open yourself up to her embrace. You can visualize her embracing you physically or witch radiant energy targeted at your swadhisthana. Listen to her say the things you wish you heard from your physical mother. "You are completely loved and embraced". "I love you unconditionally". Don't make her say these things. Open yourself up to her communication. Her actions cannot come from your ego, then they would not be coming from the divine mother. Your ego cannot be involved in her actions, that would ruin the purpose of summoning her. However you can ask her things and you will receive. If she ever acts in a way that is less than perfectly loving and wise than that is really coming from your ego and should not be taken as her words. Open yourself up to her to the full extent of your ability. Chant aloud or mentally the word KAM but draw it out along your breath. Feel it vibrate in your lower abdomen and creates pleasure. (This is called bija mantra.) Feel the pleasure emanating from the middle of your head(kutastha, middle of 3rd eye chakra) instead of swadhisthana. (This works since all chakras are reflected in 3rd eye chakra.) It opens the 3rd eye chakra simultaneously with swadhisthana. Do mula bandha(google it) to increase the intensity of the pleasure by increasing prana/energy/life force. If you have an overwhelming amount of energetic blockage, crying therapy could help to let it out. Open up you hip bone. Stretch your lower stomach. Visualize yourself in nurturing water. Water is subconsciously connected to swadhisthana. These are more like guidelines, don't be strict about them. Whatever works for you is the correct technique. Let your intuition guide you. Similar techniques can be used for the other first 4 chakras: comfort for muladhara, joy for manipura, love for anahata. For more information on the swadhisthana chakra, read the chapter in 'Wheels of Life' dedicated it. You can find a pdf of the book online. This will make you aware of the unhealthy mindsets and thought-patterns you have that are keeping this chakra closed.
