  1. There more i learn, experience, this is what i'm noticing @Azrael @egoeimai U described well what i mean, Don't you see that all achievement are from the Ego to hide insecurities and also some achievements are fro survival (there is nothing "wrong" with achieving, but a lot are the cause of suffering, deeply they don't make sense) @Outer Thanks for your reply, i'm gonna read about how Shinzen Young dealt with that @Joseph Maynor at this time Leo wasn't into spirituality? as i see he was more into personal development which is not so deep, it focus more about achieving, being successful without trying to discover our true self, his new video are 360 degree the opposite
  2. @Etagnwo at this points, I'm not really looking for enlightenment but looking for peace to not hurt my self and not hurt other as much as i can, i did not meant enlightenment is not enjoying things, but as i see the more you become aware, the more you lost interest in many things, not in a negative way, and this explain why, as we get older we tend to appreciate less material thing, to party...etc Sometimes is the ignorance that make things feel interesting and worthy to do I've learnt a lot from Eckhart tolle, he is one example from thousands and thousands of people, and life can be so hard for the "ego" we can lose strength and fall in regrets I remember he said "And fortunately, even when, in the eyes of the world, i suddenly became a success, i don't want to derive my identity from that, it's just a cheap substitute for who i really am" Eckhart Tolle @Enlightenment I think there is no way to avoid effort or suffering, whether in the materialistic path (job...etc) or the spiritual (looking for knowledge, exercices..)
  3. @robdl True it's also ego Something is telling me, let go everything and focus on what is more Real without resistance, in the same time my inner voice tell me: Giving up things and changing too much lead to a lot of suffering in the materialistic society, trying to have both is living in contradiction
  4. I spoke yesterday with a Buddhist from South-East Asia, he is a student in a Buddhist temple, i discovered that theirs teaching are so mixed with culture, miracles and supernatural stories about buddha life. it's based on "faith" not deep understanding. (I'm not generalizing) Buddhism is also a culture, it's hard to preserve something in time without adding stories
  5. I'm trying to understand non duality, I can see the duality and the non duality (for me now both are right, it depend from which angle we see it) but i can't clearly see that the duality is not real and only the non-duality which is real I came up to an idea that seem to me clear, that we are all a "one" experiencing "himself" in an unlimited number of different experience, every experience is a person Me and you = the same essence, we look separate and different because of material world influence that created a different experience and a different visual If we erase all the material world's influence and the characteristics that we did not choose, the only thing that remains, it that we are the same "thing" "same essence" The other person you see, is you. If you had the same experience, background, genetic, environment. you will see clearly that he is you i don't know if this is a way to explain non-duality, for me it make a lot of sense.
  6. Do you know "Swami Sarvapriyananda" He said that there is many path to understand Consciousness/Existence, we can experience it by meditation or by Knowledge (as he teach) I saw these 3 videos yesterday, it answered a lot of questions for me as a beginner (it become more clear for me than before) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-RFz56gb9E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMgNtMHJOOQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZOrq2dqkuY I just want to share it, it may be interesting for you
  7. For me it's vague, i can't see how the consciousness is all One After reading all your replies, it sound like the only truth is we are "Nothing, empty" it has no description, adding a description will make it as a thing, and because everything we perceive, we see the duality in it, and duality is illusion, so everything is "imaginary" What is the most effective way to realise non-duality ? (without taking any chemical)
  8. Non-profit doesn't necessarily mean it's a place where there is justice or real impact. You can have an impact helping even in a lucratif business, maybe you can start your own non-profit organization, or don't stick to one field, you can try but think also about looking for something different that you can also enjoy
  9. I really enjoy running, i used to run everyday for a period of more than 5 years For me it's a sort of meditation, it give me a lot of focus and it calme down my mind, i encourage everybody to try running at least 3 times a week, you will see how it's magical I can't believe how i lost this very constructive and powerful habit, no matter how you progress you may fall and comback to bad habits, it's true that the challenge is never ending now i'm struggling with it, i don't run since many years, it require me a lot of physic and mental effort than before, i'm trying to comback again and rebuild this habit If you have any practical advice, i would really appreciate it
  10. In my opinion, the attitude, it's an other illusion, but also looking for progress is an illusion it depend on what you are looking for, and some illusion are very helpful, for example listening to music and doing workout put you in an illusory state that can help you to not feel the effort
  11. In my humble opinion, Physical pain can affect us psychologically, i mean the more pain you feel, the more you get nervous or anxious, less patience, it's an alarm to the body that something is wrong, our mind is programmed to release stress chemical when it detect external danger I was talking with a friend yesterday about spirituality/illusions/suffering, and here is his question : If someone get "enlightened", how he deal with physical intense body pain? it won't affect his mental health?
  12. Thanks for sharing your journal entry, it's so positive and peaceful Sometimes i love all the world, sometimes it's hard to feel that but i know it's because i need to do more work
  13. I don't like to judge, i don't think Sadhguru is a good example to mention a sage
  14. My conclusion after seeing leo videos about self deception (part 1,2,3) Everything is self deception, being alive is a self deception So it's something we can't totally avoid, so we need to expect that this is a never ending challenge We say man can never knows, and we are talking about what we know as truth, even the word truth is a mind conception
  15. that's good, don't underestimate running, everybody has his own way,
  16. @MellowEd Yea the challenge is mental than physic, yesterday i tried 30 min it was so hard especially the latest minutes, i will start for only 15 min and continue if i can, most of the time it work, i used to plane 30 min jogging and finish doing 45min and 1 hour, it's all in the mind @Soulbass I definitely think jogging without music is better, it make us more stronger mentally, music is an other illusion that can help too (it trick the mental) When i'm on treadmill i put a random Leo episode and run lol
  17. Thanks all for you replies
  18. Hi, lately i read a lot about non duality, i don't fully understand it, where i can find content to understand it clearly I understand (little bit) its meaning, but i can't realize it Thanks
  19. @dorg I will take a look at it, thanks for the sharing
  20. To my knowledge in 21st century, if you don't work, you will always depend on somebody to pay your internet bill to connect to actualized.org lol Me too i don't like to work for someone else, you can start your own business (in most of case, it will still require discipline but you are more free) or you can also not work and live your passion and do something that all can benefit from. This is not an advice, just an opinion
  21. In my opinion even when we realise nonduality (if i understand it well), it can help you to not take life issue seriously and not overthink, but you will still live in the dual illusionary world, you will still have to follow society rule and pay internet bill. If you really look at the experience of life as non dual, you won't talk no more, won't eat, won't look for happiness, and won't do anything since you are aware that no words can describe anything, all effort are done to achieve an illusion and everything is mind creation. first you will look so crazy, after some days you will die it seems impossible to exist/live out of the illusion
  22. Thanks @eputkonen I just saw the video, great insights, if we hurt beings, we are hurting ourselves indirectly, i believe everything that is happening in the universe, influence us indirectly, we are all connected I think our mind see the world as dual to be more organized to protect the body but unfortunately we are deep into these illusions we take them as truth. this protection mechanism become itself a source of suffering @Faceless this is why i'm asking (i'm aware that my question may not make sense) but i guess you understand my question, i just want to learn more. I remember someone in the forum said you can't explain it, you have to experience it, of course words can't fully describe it but we can't also minimise communication and this is what we are doing in the forum e.g: I could understand the illusion of free will just by reading about it, then i realized that by observation, it helped me to see why free will doesn't exist it's hard to write a post without being dualistic
  23. When i look to society, i see there is no sincerity, no real sense of unity, a lot of selfishness, judgment, mind games, i see that MOST of people want to do evil without any reason. On internet, media, I see a lot of people saying that they are looking to make the world better, they want unity and peace, but i can't see that in the real world. is it just me or this is how the world is?
