  1. @tsuki if we change the meaning of + to -, will 1-1=2 absolute ? symbols are just symbols, like the word consciousness, it is just a word that doesn't really describe what it is, i call consciousness in different language and also create new word for it, but that doesn't consciousness it's something that is not here. @TheOne One cat + one car are not 2 cats nor 2 cars / Without being ware of it, you just used the logic of 2 + 2 = 4 cause in your logic it's wrong, but if they are One cat + One cat = now it's 2 cats, but because + one car so it's not two cats or 2 cars When you say 1+1=2 is not absolute most of the time people are refering to the symbol or the meaning of symbol but the questions is about not about symbol 1 bag + 1 pant =/= 2, the meaning here mean two exact thing = one thing + same one thing. if you change 1 to 1 cat, mathematic can answer you that too, @dimitri I guess Absolute Truth also a concept @Leo Gura personally i think, Infinity doesn't mean 1+1=2 and 1+1=3 both exist in the universe, if 2+2=3, my assumption is that the universe will collapse with no delay
  2. The original story : http://www.galactanet.com/oneoff/theegg_mod.html Available in many language
  3. If it make you feel better, just change it, don't listen to anyone who judge you doing this
  4. What gonna be the topic ?
  5. Hi, I want to go to peru and try Ayahuasca, i have no idea about the experience I heard there is many fake shaman there, i will be glad if someone who have already experienced that can give share some advice Thanks
  6. Many people when they talk about Spirituality and Quantum Physics...etc they only repeat what they heard to add more credibility to theirs Woo Woo stuff i saw a ton of people like that on Youtube In my opinion Leo is not the case, what he do is the opposite of mental laziness (it's clear he try to understand things that most of people never heard about, i see him as a philosopher) even i don't agree 100% with him Knowing physics and mathematic doesn't mean you are wise and you figure out life U can be a scientist, very rational and you could not find happiness or have bad habits or still a prisonier of your own mind U can be interested in knowledge (not as a scientist but not an ignorant) and have a "Peaceful life" Sadhguru, Tolle...etc won't be able to answer your existential questions, they figure out some way to be more peaceful and to let go in life, you can learn from them but don't expect too much, they can be wrong
  7. I did not found the the third quote on internet "A Samadhi beats an orgasm every time" by Unknown is it by Leo
  8. I heard this from someone, he said something similar to this: One must be mentally unstable to seek spirituality (or philosophy) or enlightenment, consciousness...etc. I think there is some truth in it, if i was stable i would be "happy" with my very basic delusional understanding of "life" What i mean by mentally unstable: Low self-esteem, addiction problem, depression, laziness, doesn't conform, trauma, phobia, heartbreak, acceptance problem, wanting more, lost of interest...etc. If you see people who grew up "normally" (even normal is subjective) they are less likely to seek deep understanding of life, they will be able to follow ready-made opinions easily, from theirs point of view, there is no need to work on themselves (just an opinion) i may be wrong What's your opinion?
  9. I was reading Leo latest post on "The God Debate" Blog Post I found a contradiction, i wanted to leave a commente but there is no commente area Leo mentionned in the blog post that Peterson is wrong claiming that morals, meaning, values doesn't exist, in the forum Leo himself claim the same idea So this is what leo said in the blog post about Peterson view: Where Jordan Peterson is wrong: Morality is a human invention. Evil does not exist. Bad does not exist. Meaning does not exist. Value does not exist. (This is Peterson's biggest mistake. These assumptions corrupt his entire understanding). In an other post in the forum Leo wrote his view: 1 - At deep levels of consciousness you realize that everything is pointless, valueless, and meaningless. Post 2- Notice, that this just your self-survival talking. "Immoral" is a judgment your ego-mind makes because these people threat your ability to survive. "Immoral" and "evil" and "bad" are all the same basic judgment. Doesn't matter what label you use. Post It seems contradictory Personnaly i believe that morals, meaning, values doesn't exist, but are important for survival, i'm confused on Leo opinion, i hope he can himself clarify PS: i did not saw the debate between Jordan Peterson and Matt Dillahunty
  10. i dont think that happiness is the default state, happiness is also egoic and illusionary (i'm talking about the definition of happiness that we mean in daily life) when there is happiness there is a meaning behind that, in the absolute there is no meaning (just an opinion)
  11. What do you call someone who is ok all the time but have Paranoia from time to time ? he is not insane but unstable
  12. I'm not talking about insanity or mental illness, but psychological fragility, i got what you mean, it's very relative and i believe no "brain" is totally perfect, due to our lifestyle, evolution, genetics...etc like every other part of the body I see, also some behaviors are not sane and very harmful, but seen like something cool in "society"
  13. @Preetom @B_Naz Yea, i think the suffering is the fuel (not in all case of course) i don't mean literally understanding reality, in my humble opinion it can't be understood objectively, in the absolute the word"understanding it" has no sense But you can understand: that it can't be understood (this also an understanding)
  14. @Leo Gura I see, I thought that the ordered list "Where Jordan Peterson is wrong :" was his own quotes. I agree that "Absolute Being does not have meaning or value" Value and meaning are different for every society, i think it require a lot of "courage" to claim that. All the legal system, relationship, organisations, society in general is based on that. Maybe the reason why some philosopher can't say that, it can be a justification for some people to do what is considered as "Evil", so this point of view can be a danger for society even if it's true, cause not everybody look for a deep understanding of why Evil is an invention I think philosophers, researchers and professors are not always genuine with theirs opinion, they may be seen as "psychopath" with not judgment of what is good or evil or they can loose theirs power, so they can't claim such thing publicly.
  15. It's a good thing that you care if you are genuinely amazed by something or just following the crowd Don't blame yourself, change is very hard since you spent many years reinforcing the bad habit/thoughts, remember your thoughts are not yours (this is so important), try even doing small steps to stop the bad habits, if you comeback no problem just don't stop working on yourself If you think not having sexual relation is pushing you back, then try your best to get have sex (safely) and see if that changes something, i don't think it's necessary but it's an illusion (and this illusion can seems so real, when you see things not going as you wish, you will think that is the "sex" which is lacking) Remember if you care about your studies or something (it will require a lot of effort from you, you can't have it easily) me too i struggle with motivation to do the important thing. be aware if you really need it, you need to pay the price for it. Forget about everything, ask your "self" if you really want it ? and why you want it, what will happen if you won't have what you want, or if you will have what you want. To really improve your self in the materialistic world, you really to make a lot of effort, or just be conscious that all those thing are pointless, just to feed our blind ego.
  16. Be careful of the "Know it all" trap
  17. This is not the point of the post All what you mentioned are self deceptions from a radically honest point of view,
  18. The more i read about spirituality, consciousness, i'm less attached to have relationships, materialistic things, career, no interested to have partner, don't feel the urge to share my personals opinions, can't blame can't praise, i prefer to be alone more than ever, and all that go and comback regulary, it made lose some social skills that i had, I don't have anxiety, nor a bad situation Even sometimes I feel so joyfull and have the energy to do many thing "like preparing for a music show or having a big business contract", deeply i know they don't matter and are egoistic, and if i tell that to someone in my entourage, it sound weird lol I have no more "why" i need to achieve something, and it's not necessarily because of laziness but everything seems not profound and genuine IMO The thing that holding me back is the EGO, since social conditioning is based on it, but i prefer to hear from other, Have you ever felt that during your journey, and what's is your view, does this something destructive
  19. You can build up some healthy ambitions over time which are based on a higher purpose, even though you know purpose is an invention. Thanks for your reply, you really got what i feel
  20. I think Buddha will try to help, but if he could not he won't be affected about what he can't control
  21. Time = is mouvement in space The idea of Travel in Time is a mind creation If you want to travel in time, you mean changing the mouvement of every physical thing in the univers, reversing infinity Or you can create a virtual reality base on a huge amount information in the universe I can see clearly that time is not real, it's a useful illusion in the materialistic world
  22. and deeply even Freedom is an other illusion no matter how you describe it
