It only exists, and this applies to all objects including thought, because you believe it does. That's ok,this is your current level of perception for now. Since you believe it exists you apply a self derived name,a concept to it. When a name is given, it further deepens the belief in it's existence. To know what is true, our real nature, or true "I", we have to break the identification with the psychological mind and thoughts. In the absence of thought we can be what we truly are. -

Nah,this wasn't logic at work, lol. Apologies. It was a feeble attempt at bad humor. However, many people do turn to spirituality to relieve suffering. The Buddha's primary motivation to seek enlightenment was to end the suffering he and the many others that were also having to endure suffering. To anyone in a suffering state, attaining the bliss and joy that enlightenment promises,is one hell of incentive to consider taking on the endeavor. -

Oh yeah. What is perceived as true in reality will be true for anyone sharing that same reality. There's only one reality right? In reality there is no doer, and this is a shared truth for anyone who experiences that same reality. This would be completely nuts to anyone not sharing this reality. -

Whatever you "know" up to now is an accumulation of concepts, ideas, beliefs, opinions you have gathered throughout life. 2+2= 4. This has been told to you as being true. At some point someone said if you add these two numbers this is what it equals. You don't know that for sure, you were told that and made to believe it. Conditioning. Truth: Numbers don't exist in reality. They are a concept,an idea and don't really exist. What is this symbol 2. It is a conceptualized image to support another idea someone decided to call a "number" . When you look up at the "sky". Is that really what it is. A sky ? That is a name,an idea, Without calling it a sky, what the hell is it? You don't experience a sky so how can you know it really exists?. By the way,the sky doesn't really exist either. It is a perceiving of an unreal object, in a non existent mind. What fun,eh? -

The advice is to not make any conclusions about anything as it will become an accumulation in memory and carried into other areas of your life in the future. A conclusion made at one moment that was appropriate for that particular time, will be carried into a future moment that is totally different and will cause confusion. If you have to make a particular conclusion for some reason at that time, don't carry it with you. It was for that moment only. To not make conclusions about anything is tough. In yoga there is the cultivation of a state called Vairagya, which basically means to remain detached in all circumstances and you will not accumulate more karma. It's the " doing without being the doer" and thus nullifying the accumulation of more karma. -

Well,If you're not curious enough then suffering will be your other option. You're still young and at least relatively happy. Life hasn't given you it's championship beat down enough to be motivated. Get out there and take your obligatory 10 + years of ass whoopin's like everybody else. Then you'll be ready. -

Good one Faceless Silence, silence, silence. This is so fundamental, and often overlooked, especially for those who are new. If the mind is not brought to at least some degree of silence, nearly any action will be fruitless. Silence, imo,is a key factor for any spiritual endeavor. In the inquiry method above,I preemptively made this suggestion below,as there is most likely not much,if any pre-developed inner silence going on 1."When/if the mind tries to come up with an answer, remember the fact that you are not the mind or thoughts. Negate what may arise as thought and return back to the question. If you had been developing some steady inner silence for a while,I would not have emphasized the suggestion. Other than Negate what may arise as thought,and/or sensation. I should also emphasize this is a contemplation or introspection. You don't repetitively ask "who am I,who am I, over and over. Ask the question once, then be silent. Return to the question every so often or whenever you feel it is necessary, just remember to be silent after the question. As a spoiler: If you decide to give this a go and follow the suggested method, the answer will be immediate. It's simple. Don't be quick to shun it off. -

Sadhguru? He's all over youtube. If you're talking about the one I learned the deeper Kriya from,no,he doesn't have any videos. He doesn't claim any "guru" status. He considered himself a fellow journeyman. I haven't spoken to him in quite awhile though. I assume he still teaches. I don't anything about NJ/NYC, I live far south from there. -

Lol. He's not joking when he says this either. At least he gives fair warning. I've met and interacted with a few spiritual teachers, but he's just on another level. He's played a significant role in my life and I hold him the highest regard. Hopefully I'll get to sit with him again someday. -

Forget about distinctions of no self, ego self, higher self, lower self. There is only 1 "self" and you call this self "I". Identification of "I" with objects, the body and mind is the bondage. Would you say: I am the body or I have a body. I am the mind or I have a mind I am a thought or I have a thought. If : I have a body, I have a mind,I have a thought, then it is clear that "I" am none of these. If "I" am not the body, not the mind, not a thought then ...who or what am I ? Put aside all other thoughts, concerns etc., and ask yourself this question. who or what am I ? It may help to close your eyes as you are directing this question inward to yourself and not externally. When/if the mind tries to come up with an answer, remember the fact that you are not the mind or thoughts. The mind can try but can never presume to know your true nature. Negate what may arise as thought and return back to the question "who or what am I?" This is the direct method of self inquiry. -

I recall him saying something like,"I'll provide the energy, the question is,can you take the heat"? He's for real,no doubt. -

Nice. It's a great practice and the energy will grow as you continue. The way it works is individual to each person,so don't relate what's happening with one person to your own progression. For me,it just took over. When I say it was driving me hard,it was driving me to seek Truth in a very intense way. This was not even a consideration prior to learning the kriya. I was there to learn it as part of living a healthy lifestyle, but as I continued, the drive to seek a spiritual path gained more intensity. By the fourth month, the intensity was full on. I didn't choose the path,it chose for me,lol. I live in the south east (U.S.) and he doesn't make it to U.S, very often, much less this side of the country. And like I said, this thing was a full on driving force. Even if I wanted to wait and travel, there wasn't much choice in the matter,lol.. I found the closest source I could to learn Kriya and the path to truth was on. To give an idea of how intense the energy was for me, I "awakened" within a year, and it certainly was not expected. The practices since then have been for the permanent abiding of that awakening. I want to reiterate the fact that experience is individual,so don't go expecting the same results or experience as mine. What is right for you,is right for you and will happen in it's own way. I definitely could not have foreseen any of what has happened.. It was just supposed be an all around body/mind practice for health and it turned into something very different, lol. I have no doubt Shoonya would be a great practice to learn. And if he does an initiation with that...well I can only imagine, lol. -

Oh it is lol. There's a lot of conceptual ideas in spirituality that some take on/believe as part of the path. But imo,if or until it is in ones own direct experience,it is not valid. Seems to be the case for most people, They sense, or are ,experiencing some form of suffering and the search to alleviate it begins. Eckhart Tolle is a good example, and like you ,ended it with one deep insight. This is pretty rare. I would consider it a gift of the grace. It certainly wasn't luck, lol. To you as well ?? Ever deeper abiding continues. Eternity has no end right ? -

From the spirituality perspective, this would be an argument for the existence of reincarnation. Some people come into this life and it just happens, while others can struggle many, many years with purpose and never realize. Not strange for me. This is a welcomed feeling and the fruition of remaining devoted, throughout all the ups and downs, to the spiritual path. A lot of people come into this thinking it's gonna be all roses, and good times. Anyone serious about the spiritual path sooner or later finds out it wasn't what they thought it was gonna be. Suffering is inevitable. Devotion and will of intention is what will get them through. But yes,as the deepening and abiding into the timeless continues, the oneness becomes very apparent. It's a beautiful thing. -

I was initially initiated by Sadhguru for the Shambhavi Kriya, which I did for about 4 months. The initiation process is significant in that it is an energetic process of transference. I was skeptical and thought it was mumbo-jumbo, but during the process I experienced an energy I've never felt before surge through the body. I was no longer a skeptic afterward,loll.. So,if you can find a guru who can do this, it does make a significant difference as far as the spiritual path is concerned. This energy was driving me hard so after the four months,I looked for a deeper Kriya practice and found a yogi who practiced a modified form of what's presented in the Kriya secrets book. He also taught the TM based meditation I still practice. Self Inquiry just became a natural process on it's own. -

The past month or so there has been a deeper abiding in headless, thought free state, but I cannot say it is permanent as of yet. There's still the perception of a center, but it's a feint perception,if that makes sense. -

I've described "all encompassing awareness",or using your terminology "the wholeness of awareness", as "stillness in action". Does this resonate with your description of it being both dynamic and static? It can be interpreted as "action in stillness",both meaning the same thing -

Kriya for around 2 years now. Meditation is based on TM or transcendental meditation. Self Inquiry/Jnana Yoga These three alone led to awakening, this is why I say take it easy with the spiritual stuff. A guru initiated me into Kriya ,which helps speed up the process towards awakening. The last 4 months or so there has been a reduction in the practices as the abiding state has become more stable. -

It looks like you're going for a self development/self improvement/self realization/truth combo. If this is the case, take it easy on the kundalini practices. Kriya is very much a powerful method on it's own and combining it with another kundalini practice is playing with fire. With holotropic breathing you're essentially stacking 3 kundalini practices. If the kundalini activates on a nervous system not sufficiently prepared for, and able to handle it,you're in for a shit storm of mental and physical chaos that could last for months, possibly years. I would consider picking one that you find the most suitable doing daily and dropping the other two. Meditation is fine, but consider dropping the duration if you're doing more than 25-30 min. a day. The other methods of life purpose, big leap I'm not too familiar with, but as far as the spiritual stuff goes take it easy. -

Unless the practice leads to inner silence, stillness I would say drop it. If you're after experiences then do whatever practices you believe will provide those experiences. Metaphysical does not imply Spiritual. While spiritual practices can and do produce various experiences, that's not the the reason to be doing them. Spiritual practices are for one reason only and that is to help facilitate the realization of your true nature. Based on that, choose a method or a couple of methods and stick to it consistently. Or until you feel there would be a need to to add, remove or try something else. The main standard of effectiveness for a spiritual practice is if your everyday life gets steadily better. More joy, clarity, patience etc., Metaphysical experiences should be considered"scenery". Enjoy them when they happen but don't get attached and start chasing for more. They come and go and dissipate after a while and are not the goal. Anyway, hope this provided some clarity.
