  1. When you take 5 minutes and really remember a happy memory from your life, what do you feel? Try to re-live how you felt. Not so much the event or thing that made you feel that way, but rather just the feelings themselves. That feeling, whether it's strong or weak, is coming from your heart, and it would be good for you to sit and feel those feelings every day, even for 5 or 10 minutes. It's not that you're trying too hard to get that feeling to stay with you, but just touching base with it and greeting it is enough to revive it inside you. If it feels like it leaves you as soon as you stand up, that's OK too.
  2. Cool how much time are you giving yourself between sessions?
  3. I wanna know what happened to Yoda. I guess that can be one of my wishes.
  4. I'd be like "well fuck I didn't see that one coming....."
  5. Wow, I can appreciate how much time and effort he's put into that. It may look like a stunt to some folks, but 99.9+% of humans aren't able to sit down right now and do that. I couldn't do 4 hours.
  6. After a large mushroom dose, I usually spend the following week feeling those feelings and thinking those thoughts, but I sort of "forget" them as time goes on. I never really forget, but the actual experience of it fades. I don't know, maybe it's that way with 5-Meo as well. These substances really do show us new ways of looking at life, though.
  7. I enjoyed reading that, thank you.
  8. Insight Timer is the only personal development app (it's a meditation app) that I use right now, but I'm open to more. Is there an app that will generate a given number of random reminder beeps throughout the day to promote mindfulness?
  9. The Mind Illuminated is the best meditation book I've read so far, and I don't know how any book could go into more detail of what to expect in the process and how to advance continually.
  10. @Charlotte Yep, I was gonna link him up with your old thread.
  11. I needed this today and BAM! here it is. Thank you!
  12. "Let go or be dragged" is an old Buddhist proverb. (but I struggle with it, too)
  13. When you chant, do you sit as though in meditation? How long do you chant at a stretch?
  14. @cetus56 Not knowing whether you're serious or not makes it even funnier!
  15. While I was driving somewhere last week, I saw a dude walking down the street alone and he was really jabbering outloud to himself, hands occasionally flailing as though he were trying to convey his point to someone. My first thought was "Damn, that guy's got troubles," but my next thought was something like "I talk to myself too, so there's only a very thin line separating what he and I do." I would like to get to the point where the second thought becomes my first, regardless of the person or the behavior.
  16. Hmmmm, I listen to gurgling water when I meditate sometimes, but I think that's not what you're talking about.
  17. Namaste to you too, Pluto. I enjoy your posts.
  18. Ha, I've never taken a turd on mushrooms, but it'd be trippy.
  19. Good trip! It really does allow you to look at experience from a child's POV again. The feeling of your finger in your mouth is a perfect example. Or looking at a twig. Or smelling a flower. Or taking a piss even.
  20. @How to be wise Whether you think you need it or not, I'm sending thoughts of peace and love your way.
  21. @molosku . I hadn't heard the cake metaphor until now. That's pretty good.
  22. @CreamCat LOL, I'm glad you thought of it on your own. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think you would have gotten your answer in this thread for quite a while.
  23. In spiritual work, I think marijuana is like a tightrope. Some people can stay on the rope and get somewhere very productive with it, but most people fall off the rope and end up abusing it, using it as a crutch and exaggerating to themselves the spiritual benefits gained. I enjoyed reading your post, by the way. Extremely clear and well-written. Good morning.
