  1. @Good-boy And there is no "bro" unless...…...
  2. Wowwie, I'm impressed with your mind. To be concerned, even superficially, with these topics at 15yo is exceptional. Be a kid and have fun with it, but stay on that meditation thing; I think if you nurture that into a must-do daily habit, you'll have an indescribable advantage over your peers, and that advantage will keep unfolding over your whole life. Best wishes to you!!!
  3. @lmfao Prrrrrretty sure he was funnin' us. Don't you feel funned?
  4. Oh yeah, I can relate to your post. I have a couple close friends, but they aren't into spiritual work. Home and work is all I do during the week, but I get out in nature on most weekends. Biking, kayaking, camping, meditating.....typically all by myself. It's what I feel I need right now.
  5. Dayum, what strain was it, cuz I want me some of that! ?? Seriously though, that's good stuff.
  6. Am I the only one who thought that was going to end with a punchline about him cutting off his arm?
  7. Whoa, this thread went squirrelly. ?
  8. "A circular bridge to all one of us." I really like that! ?
  9. All You Need Is Love. Love is all you need! ?? I enjoy your positive and happy posts. On the rare days that I'm not feeling it, posts like yours help me to feel it.
  10. I probably immersed myself into it a little too extensively and passionately before I even tried any of them, but I think it's prudent to do extensive research, cross-referencing sites and information, etc. But when you have a good idea of what each substance can do for you and to you, it's time to stop researching and start doing.
  11. 1) Subs are typically quite a bit stronger than cubes (cubensis). I've never done them. 2. Amazon is a cube. 3. Not a mushroom, as has already been said. 4. Another cube. Golden Teachers are another cube. Any of the mushrooms you listed would be good for tripping, but if you do #1, make sure you back the dose down accordingly. I can't remember the rough conversion for dosing Subs, but you'd want to look that up online beforehand if you get those.
  12. Oy, it's the toughest sell there is. It's hard to even explain it to someone, let alone trying to get them to DO it. Most folks just don't want to hear about things that they consider weird, and hell yeah, they're gonna judge the shit outta you afterward. One of my friends said that she would probably never set me up with any of her girlfriends. I told her that I'm still the same nice guy that she always knew, to which she said "yeah but here's the thing....you don't think you're even a person." LOL, that's when I knew that I'd talked to her too much about this stuff.
  13. The ones with psilocybin in them work the best. LOL, I'm assuming you already knew that. What are your available options? The vast majority of what most folks can buy are going to be psilocybe cubensis. There are various "strains" of that species, but it's almost impossible to assign any meaningful characteristics to these individual strains. There are stronger species, like psilocybe cyanescens, but it's not common to find those.
  14. What sitting position do you currently use? Can you sit comfortably in that position for 1 hour? Since you're up and down at least once every hour at most Vipassana retreats, there's next to ZERO chance that you're going to do damage that lasts even 1 day, let alone for the rest of your life. Unless you have a pre-existing condition, of course. That's not to say that you won't have pain.....you will.
  15. I think you're A-okay!!
  16. @brugluiz I see a lot of a projecting in your post. What you've described are your internal reactions, which are all based on your past experiences and thoughts. If I were inclined to agree with you on the overall sadness vibe of Leo's videos, that feeling would probably stem internally from me knowing that what he's saying is true, but doubting that I'll ever employ the technique/wisdom that he's talking about. So, instead of me thinking that his videos themselves are inherently sad, I'd want to get out my shovel and start digging in my psyche to discover why a benign self-help video is bringing that particular emotion into my awareness. Leo's a serious guy when it comes to this material. If he were bubbly and campy about it all, his videos would lack intensity. I'd look into why they evoke sadness in you.
  17. None of us can end suffering in the world. I don't think there should be any guilt in feeling that you made some skillful decisions in your past that have led you to an even-keeled present moment. Even in the presence of the exact opposite (your friend), don't feel guilty or incorrect in being happy for your good planning in life. Maybe a loving kindness meditation, focusing on your friend, would help you move past this speedbump?
  18. @GodMonkey It might allow for some gains at first, but it would eventually be a thorn in your side, as those gains would always be predicated on the use of the drug. My thoughts anyway.
  19. It's genuinely trippy if a person really gets into it. Some of the most profound interpersonal moments I've ever had have taken place while eye gazing with someone. After staring a while, I get the feeling that I'm looking at myself in one iteration or another, and the love and empathy toward them just comes pouring out of me. Tears of compassion every time.
  20. I can relate. I have a mild scoliosis in my lumbar spine, and did a 7-day vipassana retreat earlier this year. Holy balls, my back was screaming at me after 3 days, and it was tough to do the sits for sure. The pain was so pointed and constant that it hurt whether I was doing seated or walking meditation. I just kept counting the days and somehow got through it. Haven't had anything close to that amount of pain since. Like you said, it's the 12 hours of meditating a day (especially the seated sessions) that fired it up. I bet you'll get through it next time. But yeah, it's hard to meditate when PAIN PAIN PAIN!!! is all your head is yelling at you.
  21. I get episodes of goose bumps and shivers at least once during every meditation session. I don't think it's because I'm cold. Fun to notice and really feel as it goes in waves over my upper body. Interesting.
  22. A step-by-step, can't-miss instruction manual on how to be truly happy and at peace with myself and all others. I won't be needing my other 2 wishes from the genie; that's the only wish I'll need.
  23. Beautiful. I often think about how much I'd learn about myself and others if I were absolutely silent for a year.
  24. @phoenix666 What's that guy's story? I'd never heard of a breatharian before, and I admit that I had an immediate, unfair judgement of him at first, but I watched 5 minutes or so, and he seems like a gentle, intelligent, thoughtful, well spoken and kind human being.
