  1. Stopping the search and giving up is often encouraged by enlightened gurus, as that is sometimes what it takes to wake up, but I don't think going back to drugs and porn addiction is what they are talking about. Sounds like you're going through some nasty ego kickback. Be careful not to change your life too much in the opposite direction right off the bat. Let the pendulum swing back in a natural way, don't try to force it back all the way.
  2. Lion's roar type of thing? Or.…..are ya trippin'?
  3. Just got a chance to watch it. No idea who he is, but neither does he. I'm really happy for him. That was an excellent video; inspirational. He didn't cry, but I did!
  4. I've never watched any of his videos. Good stuff? Looks like a kind person.
  5. @Ryan_047 If you were just asking about generic walking meditation, here is a good video. I do this sometimes in preparation for a seated meditation. Gets your brain into "the zone." I've watched mannnny of his videos, and they're educational, both for meditation instruction and enlightenment education.
  6. Nothing wrong with it; some people use sounds as their meditation object. And no, it's not possible to focus on more than one thing at a time, but that doesn't mean that you can't be aware of two things at once. One object will be your focus, and the other is in your awareness, like sounds and breath in this instance. If you'd like to focus on sounds, chanting is good because it's extremely repetitious and consistent, like the breath. I like the breath more, because I can tap into it at any time of the day or night. No equipment required.
  7. Man, I'd feel like I was running around all day in my underwear if I didn't meditate for even one day, it's that much a part of my life now. I don't think your experience is weird or unusual. It's a good lesson.....don't skip days on end anymore.
  8. Someone recently was talking about hearing strange sound in his left ear. Was that you?
  9. What about......just starting again? Sometimes simple is good.
  10. This is a great thread. Lots of wisdom. Lots o' love.
  11. The whole "less than a week" thing is an eyebrow raiser. But yeah, I'll give it a whirl.
  12. @Feel Good Why can't you drop it? I mean that as a genuine question, and not a personal attack. It's extremely distracting from the general spirit and theme of the forum.
  13. The length of a strong determination sit is different for everyone. If a person sits without moving for 45 minutes and quits because they're going nutty, then that was their time for that session. Three hours isn't achievable right away, and even 2 hours will be incredibly difficult for your first time. I started at 45 minutes, then slowly over 6 months stretched it out to my current SD sits, which are around 2hrs 15mins. Hahaha, yeah it's a good idea to do your SD sits right away in the morning after peeing.
  14. I didn't kill my account, but I only get on FB once a week for a short time (10-15 mins). I still have FB messenger, because that's only texting. I just don't want all the constant dramafest of FB.
  15. Well, if you're reminding yourself every 10 minutes to do that, that itself takes mindfulness! So yeah sure, that counts is mindfulness.
  16. @kieranperez I dig what you're saying. You know already that it's one of those things you can't force. The harder you try to be creative, the more your mind is going to seize up like an engine without oil. Artists and writers know this by heart, from lots of practice trying. I mean it's easy advice to give, but I know how hard it is to take, because I've been there. As far as psychedelics, yeah, they might help you in this, but realize that they aren't like a car, where you can get in and have it become an extension of you and your will. Your will to go to a certain place. It's much more like you scoot over into the passenger's seat, hang on and see where/when/what/why the hell you are going on this zany ride. Obviously I'm talking about a full dose, and not microdosing here, which I do think would be a good long-term strategy for creativity. Even if you don't have specific ideas about creativity come to you on your trip, it awakens certain parts of your brain, and you will be naturally heightened creatively for a few days afterward, so some nice ideas might manifest even a couple days after the trip, during a meditation or whatever. Okay, sorry so much talking. Kind of stoned. Have a good one man.
  17. Maybe he needs a crotch-comber.
  18. Yep, that's the dualism of things like worth and fear. They exist in a personal sense and from a personal perspective, but once we go outside of our own heads, *poof* it's gone.
  19. @Caterpillar Would you rather see your best friend die or an elderly Chinese street woman? If you care one way or another, and I suspect you do, it's because you're assigning worth.
  20. @Ampresus That is so good! Young people get a lot of advice about life from older folks, but meditation will be a serious game-changer for your life if you stay with it.
  21. Assigning value to lives is very subjective and perspective-dependent. To me, my friend's life may be more important than yours, but from your mom's perspective, it's the other way around. It all depends on who you ask, and if that's the case, then we're all equal. To the lion pride, the healthy baby is worth more than the dying adult, but ask the hyenas and they'd see it the other way around. Perspective.
  22. @Roman Edouard You have plenty of time to change your mind. But try not to be averse to them just because the government labels them as bad, or because you might not have a wonderful time. If you had never had a dream in your whole life, imagine how much you'd be cheating yourself if you chose not to do it just because you might have a bad one.
  23. I know just what you mean about people being zombies. Try to appreciate the enchantment and wonder of this dream that you've found yourself in. Life can seem pointless, but that's because we don't know what it's all about. Live each day being kind and humble. The rest will work itself out.
