  1. @BobbyLowell To be honest, I feel like your presuming and extrapolating a lot from the interactions you two have. You said y’all don’t really talk other than an occasional hi; how can you just assume he’s going to ask you out?
  2. @nectar I used to friendzone girls that way, so I could see how that might be the situation.
  3. @Aimblack That's a good point really. Overall, I wish Leo would try something new to engage and involve his listeners. Even something simple like Skype consultations would be fine. He could charge for half-hour sessions and help people that way. Like you said, he's pretty active here and on YouTube with communication, but being able to see and hear somebody adds another dynamic that could help Leo better understand what's going on.
  4. @Jamie Universe That sounds like fun actually. And I agree; sometimes when you combine the right music with another art form, it almost doubles its profundity. I used to do ballroom dancing, and when you're with the right girl, with the right song, and the right style, it's just.... @Dan Arnautu Thanks for sharing your awakening experience through singing. Speaking of which, Sadhguru had an experience as well not to long ago through singing.
  5. @Simon Zackrisson Yeah man never give up. If marriage and a family is what you want, that's great; just take your time, and be smart about it. From the 4-5 years I've studied this stuff, here is what you need to consider with regard to a potential mate. Some of these are going to be difficult to acquire from her and others in her social circle, but be persistent. It's necessary for your psychological health and your wallet: Quality of relationship w/ father If she was raised by a single mother Why her previous relationships ended # of Previous Sexual Partners History of infidelity STDs Dietary/Exercise Habits Current Weight Nagging Issues Impulsivity Overall intelligence/IQ What kind of friends she has Long-term goals and the most important one... spending habits
  6. Cassie Jaye is an award-winning filmmaker who made a documentary a few years back on the MRA, MGTOW, and similar groups. She did a Ted talk not to long ago talking about it and the changes she underwent. If you're too lazy to watch the whole thing , then just start it at 12:28 and watch the rest.
  7. @Alii I respect your opinion Alii and you're free to bust my chops; I actually agree with a lot of your comments. Ideally, his tour would be filled with the people on this forum and others who are serious about personal development. However, especially considering the United States, we are talking about a very small minority of people who are already interested in genuine spirituality, shadow work, psychedelics, conscious living, etc. Leo's true fans are, like I said before, spread out across the world. If only a handful are able to show up to each location, Leo might get discouraged and think twice about doing it again. I know these things sound kitsch (autographs, t-shirts, selfies, etc.), but I also know they work to draw in crowds. Why? Because I used to tour myself. I was in a band, so the type of events are a little different, but similar principles can be applied. I'm an introvert myself (ISFP), but if I could make a fan's day simply by taking a picture with them, I'm going to do it. The more people he can get to his events, the more lives he can potentially change. We'll still be able to meet him, but we should allow others the chance to learn from him as well.
  8. I've been reading this David Chalmers essay off and on lately, and I realized this excerpt from the beginning had shocking parallels to my own experience: "When I was in graduate school, I recall hearing “One starts as a materialist, then one becomes a dualist, then a panpsychist, and one ends up as an idealist”.1 I don’t know where this comes from, but I think the idea was something like this. First, one is impressed by the successes of science, endorsing materialism about everything and so about the mind. Second, one is moved by prob- lem of consciousness to see a gap between physics and consciousness, thereby endorsing dualism, where both matter and consciousness are fundamental. Third, one is moved by the inscrutability of matter to realize that science reveals at most the structure of matter and not its underlying na- ture, and to speculate that this nature may involve consciousness, thereby endorsing panpsychism. Fourth, one comes to think that there is little reason to believe in anything beyond consciousness and that the physical world is wholly constituted by consciousness, thereby endorsing idealism. " Was this anybody else's experience as well? Was materialism the first metaphysical position you had to which you later explored and adopted others?
  9. Yeah just like @SFRL said. If you know he has a crush on you too, you can be direct with him (guys like this kind of communication). If you want him to ask you eventually, be sure to give him a lot of affectionate physical contact. Especially since you're a girl, you can get away with it. You can rub his shoulder/arm, play with his hair, caress his face briefly after you talk with him, hug whenever you two meet, etc. Us guys are fine with this sort of thing and especially if it's from a girl we're attracted to. This will get him thinking about you a lot and move things in the direction you want.
  10. It depends. How close are you two? What type of guy is he (describe him)?
  11. I know it seems like a trivial topic, but let's take a closer look: A question that often comes up in the spiritual community is whether awareness continues during sleep. Many enlightened teachers claim they have awareness even in deep sleep. Well according to the research, "Sleepwalking characteristically occurs during the first or second sleep cycles, specifically, during stages III and IV, otherwise known as deep sleep." https://www.medicinenet.com/sleepwalking/article.htm#why_do_people_walk_in_their_sleep. When people are sleepwalking, they are not necessarily just doing nonsensical things; they can have full conversations, move furniture, and even drive cars! The videos below illustrate this to a degree (the second one is pretty funny). Also, there is a certain kind of innocence to people when they communicate in these states; they're like babies almost but with a higher lexicon. What, if anything, does this say about awareness and the self? Does sleepwalking and talking show what people are like without the ego? What does sleepwalking reveal about the relationship between awareness, the body, and the idea of control?
  12. Please explain to me why cannabis is Schedule I, yet methamphetamine is Schedule II, and datura is unscheduled. This is how the DEA defines Schedule I: "Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse."
  13. @Hardkill "I reached the point where I felt so hopeless, depressed, and incredibly outraged and frustrated." It's a rough time for men in general right now. I'm not going to delve too deeply into the politics of it, but just know most of this is stuff you're experiencing is not by accident. I'm not a fan of this news channel, but Tucker makes some pretty good, well-researched points on this issue.
  14. I agree. Let's look at the Netherlands and its economy for example. It has some of the most liberal drug laws on the planet, and yet "The Netherlands, the sixth-largest economy in the European Union, plays an important role as a European transportation hub, with a consistently high trade surplus, stable industrial relations, and low unemployment." https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/nl.html. It also has one of the highest GDPs per capita. If those psilocybin truffles are going to tank the economy soon, they sure haven't given us a warning.
  15. I'll go ahead and "come out of the closet". I'm a MGTOW and have been decidedly one for around 4 to 5 years. I say decidedly because I already had a MGTOW lifestyle before I learned about the philosophy, terminology, community, etc. Just like spirituality, I think men come to MGTOW for different reasons. Some men were treated poorly in relationships, so they come in with a lot of hurt. Some men never find much success with women, so they come in looking for an excuse to stay out of the game. Some men simply enjoy the freedom of being single while avoiding all of the problems associated with marriage and long-term relationships. This is where I’ve always found myself. I love women, but I have one life. I simply cannot be tied down. I shared this video with another user not too long ago on this very topic.
  16. @Elephant That makes sense. I'm not a marijuana user (haven't even tried it actually), but I wonder how they can justify some of these categories. Alcohol has "no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse", so why isn' it Schedule I? @Leo Gura Wouldn't legalizing psychedelics help boost the economy though? We have plenty of rich farmland in America; if they were to legalize cannabis and psilocybin mushrooms, we could start two brand-new, highly-profitable industries. We already have the cheap labor and equipment. The government could tax it at a significantly higher rate, and people would still pay it. The amount of foreign tourism and the money made from it would be unthinkable. Wouldn't it seem like mainstream capitalist society would be healthier and stronger because of legalizing these substances?
  17. I just read it. I don't mean to dismiss Frankston's opinion, but what I got from it was a bunch of ad hominem attacks and scare tactics. He fails to mention all of Leo's YouTube videos are 100% FREE. In fact, he's not even maximizing the profit he could be making; with his popularity and subscriber base, he could put part 1 on Youtube and charge money for part 2 on his website. I live in the Bible Belt of the American South where religious scam artists are rampant; they hate people like Leo.
  18. I tried submitting a poll, but some kind of error occurred. Anyways, I'll do it here instead. Given his current trajectory, when do you predict Leo will become enlightened? I'm not talking about satori and psychedelic experiences here and there however profound; I'm talking about full-blown, God-level sahaja samadhi akin to what Jan Esmann and David Spero have. a) less than 1 year b) 1-3 years c) 5-10 years d) 10+ years
  19. "Should I quietly ditch the social circle and approach people to find more compatible friends?" Yes, you've outgrown them. I completely understand why they might have that sort of mentality because of the times in which we live, but ultimately, it's better to improve your situation. There's a lot of really cool people out there; they best way I've met them is through hobbies. I don't know what's available in Italy, but the most interesting people I've met have been at skydiving centers, martial arts dojos, and in bands.
  20. We gotcha covered Leo: And yes, the girls are included.
  21. @d0ornokey That's what I did the first time I watched a Rupert Spira video. I thought something was wrong with the guy. Here's an example at 0:48
  22. @abrakamowse It's good man . I created this thread because in some more recent videos, Leo said he's getting pretty close, but he never claimed to be fully awakened. I know this is just going by his words, but I highly doubt Leo would lie to us especially about something like this. If he did, then what would that say about him as a teacher? I'm assuming he is not fully and permanently awakened because he's still a seeker. He's seeking really hard actually. Who else can go to the most beautiful part of the world and spend the whole time self-inquiring and meditating?
  23. C'mon you can't just leave us hanging like that . You said we could ask you anything.
  24. How is it different than you thought it would be?
