Saumaya replied to AleksM's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
You are not talking about anything specific. I know what enlightenment is, and it has nothing to do with what he is taking about, be it light or paranormal I dont care. They may be something, but has nothing to do with enlightenment. The problem I have is that he includes all this light and paranormal stuff with enlightenment. -

Saumaya replied to AleksM's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
What I meant is, most of the stuff he is talking about has nothing to do with enlightenment. If your only serious about enlightenment, you should ignore him. -

I have nothing against this guy but if you really took your growth and transformation seriously, you would ignore him. He talks about awareness and present moment which is fine, but after that....uh yeah. -
Saumaya replied to Buba's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Buba 1)You parents, siblings, spouse and kids are same as strangers on the street. Why love your family but not the strangers. So yes, if your love is fractured and not whole, it can be a hinderance. 2) Needy attachment to anything is bad 3)There is no 'you' so there is no family. Parents, sibling, kids, etc are just a concept to related to 'you'. Family is just a biological connection to the body who apparently live together or interact more as to build a stable and deeper bond than other people. -

Hmm...I thought discovering one's true nature of existence and self was the agreed upon definition of enlightenment -
Saumaya replied to AleksM's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Could be, but thats not my point. He says that he is enlightened but then says the journey never ends. I dont get these types of people. How can you say enlightenment is binary but also not binary. As far as my understanding of enlightenment goes, when all separation is removed, you become enlightened. You realise your true nature that is One. Now how can the hell is someone experiencing higher levels of enlightenment when One has always been the same? What do these higher levels signify? Why even use the word enlightenment when you are saying the journey never ends? Just call it higher levels consciousness or something. -

How can someone be called enlightened if the journey never ends -

1) Correction: The more knowledge you have and more certain you are of that knowledge, makes people who are even remotely interested listen to you. More knowledge or skill does not make you better or special, just more proficient. If I am good at basketball and my friend is not, it doesnt make my worth better than him or her; That includes life advice as well. All of this stems from the fact that is something is insufficient within you. Just realise this: self worth doesn't exist, reality is ultimately 'valueless' and 'worthless'. It is completely neutral. 2) There are two types of humility: a)Internal humility : It means that you know there is always more growth possible so you never say I know it all. b)Outward humility : Portray yourself as important or not important, it doesnt matter. Ultimately you are existentially unimportant. -
Saumaya replied to WaterfallMachine's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@WaterfallMachine As far as enlightenment is concerned, believing in enlightenment is missing the point. Believing in enlightenment is just like believing in any other thing. The whole reason the quest for enlightenment starts is because one realises that there beliefs are not the Absolute Truth. As far as Absolute Truth is concerned, it does not require your belief. It just is. -

I only read the necessary parts and skim the unnecessary parts. Also before purchasing the book I go to google books to check the table of contents and introductory chapters as to judge whether the book is relevant for me or not. -
