  1. catching up after a while this threat is alive. best is to see my instagram profile for the bigger range of my work https://www.instagram.com/romangerz/ my background as a graphic designer has an influence on the way create. drawing always was my way to express my feelings and by that to support my healing process. i learned some basic techniques in drawing and painting but soon realized the temptation to dabbling even just within creating on surfaces. as i started to take this endeavour seriously, it opened my spiritual path. i don't make art just to make surfaces look prettier, but by drawing my inspiration from the source – nature – i find a way to translate it into what human beings may relate more with. my creations aim to remind or teach the viewer of the fundamental principles of appearance (from concrete to abstract, from line to shape/surface). the first image in my post shows a symmetrical sort of creature which is merged with its environment showing there are no boundaries between one object or another. the second image is a remix of a building block of my first lego set (big, blue framed, white arch door) and my discovery of a visual language which, in this case, speaks of femininity and water – as you can tell by the curved forms. currently i see different ways to adapt the language of creative articulation onto different media and experiment with sculptures and land art – picture three.
  2. There are some habits I tried implementing in my everyday life and the only two powerful and meaningful ones I consistently act on for nearly 1,5 years are journaling and meditation. I skipped just two days of journaling and maybe three of meditation. At the beginning I needed those to gain momentum to start the day with a positive attitude. Now I find myself in a season where I don't need any repetitive morning routine. I have the urge to take action on project and life purpose related things and arrange the habits to the end of the day. I notice that my regular 45 minutes meditation got harder to sit through because I just want to get things done and see how fast time is passing by. I don't know if it would make any difference to give up those habits entirely. I don 't judge myself for skipping journaling or meditating but still keep on doing them just to keep the streak. The streak is not my motivator and I don't need any achievment kind of goal. There is no goal in both of those habits. I feel how those habits have changed my life and it doesn't take any willpower at all to act on them. It feels like a am entering a breaking point where my self is looking for alternative ways of living. Can anyone relate to that? What are your viewpoints?
  3. Seven hours of sleep in the night from 10 pm until 5am – complies with the natural rythm of melatonin distribution but of course depends on the sun cycle. Depending on the work that you do and your possibilities a powernap at about noontime is a great addition.
  4. If you put a lot of consciousness to the process of a cold shower without resisting the unpleasing temperature, you will discover that it isn't as bad as you might think. I focus on my breath and relax my body as well as my mind - makes the whole thing bareable. Big advantage is that when you leave the bathroom the rest of your flat seems much warmer as though you would have showered with warm water.
  5. @ttm I didn't find any scientific evidence but from my own personal experience I assume that fact. It might satisfy you to know, that green tea contains way less caffeine than coffee.
  6. Currently during my daily 45 minutes meditation-sessions I loose the sense of my hands. No matter how I fold or put them together, it feels as though there is a field of energy as you experience during Qi Gong. I meditate most of the times in the early morning after being awake for about 2,5 hours using the Do-Nothing and Strong Determination Sitting techniques. I don't know anything about charkas or any other concepts about meditation so I can't label what's happening. Has anyone else of you experienced such a similar phenomenon?
  7. It depends on the kind of green tea. If you go for a cheap sencha, you won't notice any boosting effects but a crappy taste. If you want a healthy alternative to coffee, then consider matcha tea. Caffeine in green tea works different than in coffee, doesn't spike up your adrenaline level that fast and high but lasts over a longer period of time.

  10. @Mia Thanks! Is there any place in Oslo you recommend me to visit? I am not looking out for touristic attractions, I would have just passed through the city.
  11. I personally had some awareness expanding experience after a day of fasting which included a 3,5 hrs walk/run. The next day my sensory perception was way stronger and I found myself in a sort of blissful state like after a long relaxing mediation session.
  12. Since my childhood I am inspired by the Norwegian culture and nature. This summer I am going to bike-travel for four weeks from Oslo, to Kristiansand up to Trondheim. I will wild camp most of the times, care for food, water and every other lower basic need by myself. Feels like I'm on a hero's journey. Norway bicycle tour
  13. I prefer sitting in the half lotus posture in the moment. As long as I can't figure out how to get comfortable with the full lotus posture, I alternate my upper leg day by day. In general I noticed that sitting on the ground makes me feel more grounded than on a chair and allows me do longer sits.
  14. Search the web if there's a Toastmasters Club in or close to your city. As I relocated for my intership in Hamburg, Germany this helped me a lot to find different kinds of open minded people. Now after half a year I really built some foundations for long term relationships with a few people.
